I am very thankful for the teachers they have had from 2nd to 8th grade (these are the grades attended) . All teachers were easily accessible and responded to all my inquiries same day sometimes within the hour. The best part from my experience with Belle chasse Academy is the communication, I have been in the know when it comes with anything involving my kids. Communication is sent through parent square app, posted on their Facebook page and for extremely time sensitive information receive an automated call. Both my kids have had the opportunity to be in advance math which will have them enter high school with a math credit completed. BCA has many opportunities for advanced students to continue advancing in all core classes and earn high school credits in 8th grade. For our family BCA has been a great school and exceeded our expectations.

There were a lot of teachers who left. I have seen classroom videos of kids fighting and using language that no Christian school should allow. The teachers do not even seem to be surprised. I attended a couple of parent meetings for trips that had been scheduled and I felt as if no planning had gone into the meeting and it was a waste of my time. I believe the school needs an overhaul from the top down.

She is the head of student life and leadership development. After our first visit, because of her, we knew this was the school for our kids. She immediately took them under her wing and got them involved in student leadership. The administration cares about the kids. The teachers all strive to help our children succeed and excel academically and in life. I was really impressed that the entire staff and student body went on a retreat for two days at the beginning of the school year. It shows they are truly invested in our kids lives. They have grown spiritually more then I could have hoped for. We are proud parents and honored to be part of the Pioneer Family. Ryan and DeAnna Pierce

This has been the best move for my kids. The teachers care about the students and go above and beyond for them. My only issue with the school has been some and only some of the administration. I believe there is a lack of authority when needed sometimes. I seems as though if it is a student with parents who are donators or of some importance those kids are not disciplined in the same way as others. I have seen some kids get expelled or suspended and others just get a slap on the wrist for the same or even worse discrepancies. With an administration change this school could be amazing!

Even is Christian Brothers School didn't give me a first rate classical young man's education the value of the school can easily be measured in my classmates. It's odd to look back at middle school and realize I was networking even then. I sat next to the sons of prominent business men and local politicians, even the grandson of the LA Attorney General. But it wasn't all blue blood and starched white collar material. I myself come from a modest household and gained entry and success on the merit of my grades. CBS may have a large portion of "upper class" students but the student body is as a whole quite eclectic. Even if it's "who you know" CBS does a stellar job with "what you know". CBS prepares young men not just for high school but for success. Yes, a lot of the lesson plans seem old but they are tried and true methods. A strong focus on English grammar, reading, math, sciences, even penmanship created a top notch education that carried me through a stellar high school and stays with me even as a professional in the workplace. Should I have a son one day, I hope that he can benefit from an education as good as my own and the foundation for that started with Christian Brothers School.

I know mommas complain about grass stains and dirt stains. But it's better than blood stains. Kids get rough. Kids fall down. Black top is unforgiving. There could be traumatic brain injuries and worse. I know the playground doubles as a parking lot for mass and that's where a lot of funds come in but regardless. Total insanity starts in the summer. They have softball leagues playing on the hard black top. Not cabbage ball. Softball. With aluminum bats and gloves. So you have a relatively hard ball coming off a metal bat bouncing off black top. Players diving and sliding on black top. That's a recipe for disaster. If a kid falls on his/her knees that's it. A bum knee for decades and knee replacement eventually. Believe it. It would be idea if the school laid down a layer of a foot or two of soil and grow grass. Sure mommas won't like the grass stains and church goers won't like parking on often times wet grass but still. It's a lot better than leaving your kids running around and falling down on hard blacktop.

Their vision was to create a school that reflects the diversity of the city both in the children that will attend and in the education they will receive; a school that is child-centered and about more than just test scores. Morris Jeff Community School (MJCS) is the fulfillment of that vision. In Fall 2010 the school opened its doors on Poydras Street as one of the most racially and economically diverse open-access public schools in the history of New Orleans with 185 Pre-K through 2nd grade students. Fast forward to 2021, and MJCS now has over 1400 students situated on 3 separate campuses (elementary, middle & high schools). The school(s) are named after Morris F.X. Jeff Sr, who was a civic leader and pioneer in educational and recreational opportunities for kids in New Orleans. My son has gone to MJCS since Pre-K 4 and is now in the 4th grade. I think 2 years ago, I would have given the school a 4 star review, but as of lately, the growing pains of the school, in my opinion, have created a few concerns for me as a parent.
