My experience with the owner, Diana, was very positive. I asked her about an availability of an item on her website and she went as far as digging through her back storage and asking her supplier. But that's not what I'm writing to you about -- I'm writing because shopping at your store was a great experience! ...from the moment we stepped through the door of Guff and were greeted (by Schroeder) to being assisted with checking out the table/being shown how the drop leafs work (by Schroeder) to paying for the table and a couple of ceramic cups and saucers (the latter just having arrived/but Schroeder looked them up/"no problem") to having our table prepped for pick up (by Paul and Schroeder) to being greeted the next day with a smile (by Paul) to the assist with the table being lifted into the back of our SUV (by Paul) ...it could not have been a better experience!! If you step into the store you are overwhelmed by all of the merchandise. It is a challenge to manoeuvre yourself around the store and it is very difficult to really get a good look and appreciate the pieces. Typically the best items are displayed out front on the street. My friend and I spend a good hour downstairs just playing different records and dancing around LOL. I came here because it was noted that they have a lot of cameras and I was surprised to see them all myself. Initially, I was a little nervous about buying a film camera because I am not very familiar with them but the representative that was there (Maggie) provided me with a lot of insights and useful information on each brand. She was very patient and helpful and made me feel at ease so I left the store confident. Also, the shop is located on Danforth so after my visit, I just went on an adventure and ate a lot of food. I truly loved everything at this store and it was an honour conversing with Maggie. I fully dedicate myself and wallet to this shop and I can't wait to come back!

Having been in a lot of antique shops, this spot desperately needs an 'organiser', someone to help arrange the aisles, make sense of the stock. A lot of it gets lost, missed due to the clutter. A few people inside makes it difficult to navigate the very tight thin aisles. Looking forward to returning.

The owners have seemingly 'ransacked the universe' to put together a sweet collection of new, old and reworked items. It's one of my favourite places to gift shop and occasionally pick up things for myself. My boyfriend hasn't taken off his up-cycled plaid handkerchief scarf since I gifted it to him for x-mas. Most of the things sold at Ransack are made by local artisans but there's quite a few solid vintage finds(old posters, records and some furnishings) as well. Very happily there are no old fur coats or stuffed dead animals at all to ruin my vintage shopping experience or create that narsty smell you find at some vintage stores (I'm looking at you Kensington market). This store is strictly awesome. You really need to discover this place for yourself though. There are so many things to regardez-vous I find myself circling the shop several times taking it all in before I can decide what I can't leave without.
