It's beautiful goth struck may spook you from the outside, but as soon as you walk in you are welcomed by all the colorful stain glass windows. Each window depicts an event from the Bible, all through the church. As you walk around, you notice all the carvings and little details that make this Church so warm and welcoming. Their were must have been 10 stalls in all with Neal Yards products, Soya candles in china tea cups and some handmade felt objects - I was tempted to buy a Sock Monkey :) We ate a glittery Mince pie and the Mulled wine was tasty. Its wasnt as big an event as advertised, however it was still nice to have a wee look & glad I went along.

I've only ever been in here when it's been used as a venue. It's kind of small, and there's never…read moreanything interesting to look at. Apart from the people there, I guess. Hippies often use it as a venue for their green, hippy events. And I'm not talking about flower-child 70s hippies, but the new breed. A new breed people have even accused me of being part of (because I wear colourful clothing and am a vegetarian--a bad one). So yeah, they've thrown events there associated with the Beltane Fire Society, but I've always been disappointed by the venue and always been discouraged to attend any of the events hosted there. I mean, it's not terrible, don't get me wrong. But it's plain and has none of the ornate church-stuff that I expect from churches. It's just one of those uninspiring places that you can't think to say two things about. A bit like the colour beige.

Holyrood abbey was a highlight for me, it's mesmerising and beautiful and historical. It has a surreal feel like something from Uncharted or Indiana Jones and you get to the explore it at your leisure. I'm happy they kept the ruins as is instead of restoring them or demolishing them. I first got in touch as a Divinity student in Edinburgh investigating the area of Christian healing, then as an Episcopalian parish priest when I was invited to conduct Holy Communion services on a few Wednesday mornings after the Biblical Reflection. Latterly I was invited to update their website. Every time I've visited, or even simply contacted, the Fellowship I have always experienced a gentle and calm acceptance and a very warm welcome. Theirs is a quiet, gentle and faithful ministry to anyone who asks. I can certainly recommend anyone get in touch with them, whether to ask for prayer, explore the area of healing, or simply to be involved with a faithful group of praying Christians.
