Walking through Brugge we stopped in a shop to ask where to get the best waffles. We were told…read more"Oyya" . Asked another local the same question and was told Oyya. So-we went to Oyya. . Located in a somewhat tourist focused shopping area, you order at the counter and as there is no seating, you eat outside. Not my favorite way to eat but when in Belgium.............................. Oyya also has ice cream so my wife ordered her waffle with ice cream and I had mine with caramel sauce. All I can say is WOW. I've never had a waffle so good. Full of flavor with a nice firm texture. Plenty of "block " seating outside. Not a very good lap eater but at least I didn't make a mess! Next time I order waffles for breakfast I'll be disappointed that they won't be as good as the waffles from Oyya.

The ice cream is kinda funny, you pay first and the take the receipt from cashier down the counter and re-order your choice of scoops. Must be a Belgian thing? Big choice of flavors and lots of exotic mixes. Locals seem to frequent it as several grandparents with small grandkids came thru while I was there for ice cream.
