Having recently moved to Raeburn Street, a 30 second walk from this pub, our initial reaction was favorable. It is a small speakeasy style pub on a beautiful street with nice ambience. The staff, however, is abysmal. We grabbed dinner down the road, and stopped by for some post dinner Saturday night drinks. The main rooms were empty, with many seats open, but with a party of 2 we were told that we could not sit at any empty tables in the main rooms because larger parties may enter the pub. We were forced to sit in the hallway on 2 small stools, and having purchased 2 pints between 2 people at 12:15, and finishing them by 12:45 and attempting to order more, we were told that last call was 45 minutes earlier, and we were simply skipped because we were not sitting in one of the main rooms. Overall, we feel that we were skipped for last call because we were not from the area, and the bartenders were judging us because of where we were from, we were never warned that the bar was closing because we were forced to sit in a isolated location, and overall we get very disrespected and undervalued by all of the staff prior to leaving. This is a very grimy location, with very limited selection of alcoholic beverages ranging from liquor to beer, and the staff is comprised of people who feel that they are better than everybody they are serving. If I had the option of various pubs within this area I would choose any of the other options, ranging from Hector's to Hamilton's. Very disappointed with this experience as compared with the others in the immediate vicinity. read more
