The teachers and staff are very kind to the students and teach them very well, but the students themselves are quite the handful. My daughter comes home and tells me about how the girls go to the bathroom and do self harm. it's very concerning as a mother to hear this type of stuff coming from a Catholic school out of all places and. And the girls that do it, recommend to the other younger ones to do it as well and the counselor system isn't the best cause the students mostly talk among themselves about their problems which can start a lot of problems by giving bad advice, and the boys in the school are very chaotic and loud as my daughter says, and they make rude jokes to the girls. They think they're joking, but it's considered bullying and they're quite inappropriate. read more

Both of my girls were a part of the St. Augustine Campus since 4th grade although they did leave to attend a Bridgeport Magnet School they quickly learned that there's no place like home and I re-enrolled them back into the St. Augustine Campus where they proudly attend today. I remind the staff on a daily basis that their hard work is truly appreciated they all go above and beyond and get the job done! Amazing school, my daughter started there in 6th grade, I couldn't ask more from them. teachers are excellent. the principal Dr. Hurt is such a good soul. she cares for every kid in the school and for their well being. About a year ago I wrote an excellent review on this site when our son was in 7th grade and I wanted to reiterate our recommendation with an updated review now that he has graduated from 8th grade. Sending our son, Robert, to St. Augustine Academy in Bridgeport, CT was the best decision we could have made on his behalf. The principal, teachers, and staff are absolutley amazing and are genuinely interested in helping the students become well-rounded individuals. The entire school community contributes to providing a balanced and nurturing environment for the students to thrive. Our son has not only gained in depth academic knowledge but has also developed team leadership skills, presentation skills, and an understanding of the value of helping the community. He has built supportive friendships that will last a lifetime as they follow their own paths towards their goals. Our son just had his 8th grade graduation ceremony and we are confident he is well prepared for the new chapter of his education in high school. This school was an absolute God send for our daughter. We made the switch in the forth grade. Our daughter needed to be challenged, to be in a positive environment, and feel safe. It is what we needed. We couldn't have made a better decision. We thank the staff at St. Augustine's for all that they have done to challenge our daughter, They worked along side of us as we, as a team, poured into her faith, self-esteem, happiness, progress, and kindness. We love the staff and amazing leadership. No school is perfect, but when something is not up to par, the administration goes straight to work and finds resolutions. No red tape!!! I love that the communication and atmosphere is inclusive. Communication comes in multiple languages. My only wish is that we did not have to leave at graduation.
