Two American couples touring England and Scotland for 3 weeks. We stayed at St. Anne's our first night. Although the House is very old and the rooms are small (that is how they use to make them) it is very clean, no offensive orders, the bathrooms are small but no mold, nice and clean, the sinks & toilets are UK size but worked well. It is such a quiet house. We arrived late, the host rode his bike to let us in and we were on our own. We thought the town was just a place to lay our heads the first night but it was quite a cute little town with the beautiful Salisbury Cathedral which houses the Magna Carta. The breakfast was a buffet/made to order and very good. Dining room is spotless, waitress/host/cook was very efficient and accommodating.
We would highly recommend St. Ann's. Since we were in the UK for 3 weeks we ended up having lots of guest houses to compare with St. Anne's and it ended up being more at the top of the list of experiences.
I would not recommend it for a romantic get away, just a sweet place to stay. read more
