The bedroom is modest but well card for with comfortable bed and feather pillows. A generous selection to teas and drinks in your room. But the private bath is top notch. Nearly as big as the bedroom and nicely remodeled with high quality appointments- watch out Hilton. With nice tile work, modern shower, heated town rack, new sink and faucet. You can't go wrong. The lady is so nice and accommodating. The breakfast is lovely. It starts as you would expect with choices of traditional English breakfast, but then goes far above with crepes, kipper, poached eggs. This is a very well kept house as you can see from the photographs, but you have to see it in real life to really appreciate the time and effort that they have put into making their guest feel welcome. The atmosphere is both friendly and helpful to both foreign guests and local business customers alike. This is what I would call a guest house and a bit more on top. Location is about 1/2 mile from train station. I walked to train station to catch the Stonehenge tour. Next day walked through quaint town to Salisbury Cathedral (Magna Carta) and museum. If you have a good pair of walking shoes, you don't need to rent a car if you stay here. Met other travelers from the States during breakfast as well. Would stay here again, hands down. We had gotten to the point where we were going to backtrack to the last time we for sure knew where we were when all of a sudden my husband spotted a rare street sign, and we realized we had accidentally found the place. The owner had emailed me back in the States for our expected arrival time, and luckily we made it within our designated time frame. The B&B was small, but nicely maintained. I loved the bathroom - the skylight really brightened up the space. It was surprisingly quiet even though all the rooms are in close proximity. Our host explained that there would be a continental breakfast in the morning, and if we wanted something hot, we needed to make our selection the night before, so we each ordered the Full English Vegetarian Breakfast. Breakfast in the morning was efficient and hearty. The only downfall is that parking is very tight. We had to pull into the driveway because we weren't permitted to park on the street. This meant we were blocking in other cars, and we were blocked in ourselves when the last guests arrived. Luckily, no one needed to leave in a hurry!

Our room was small and odd, though - and really maybe better for a single person than a couple. Good thing we love each other! It was close quarters in room number 2. The bathroom was tiny, which is common enough when the rooms originally don't have a bath and its added later, and the door had no latch at all. Its so tight there's no room for a sink, so it was installed on the outside of the bathroom making for some awkwardness. Almost nowhere to put anything either, just one narrow shelf. We had almost no contact with staff; its a real "hands-off" approach. We had trouble with the toilet and there were no options or anyone to call. They were friendly enough when we did see them, the room was clean and the breakfast was good and cooked to order.

Two American couples touring England and Scotland for 3 weeks. We stayed at St. Anne's our first…read morenight. Although the House is very old and the rooms are small (that is how they use to make them) it is very clean, no offensive orders, the bathrooms are small but no mold, nice and clean, the sinks & toilets are UK size but worked well. It is such a quiet house. We arrived late, the host rode his bike to let us in and we were on our own. We thought the town was just a place to lay our heads the first night but it was quite a cute little town with the beautiful Salisbury Cathedral which houses the Magna Carta. The breakfast was a buffet/made to order and very good. Dining room is spotless, waitress/host/cook was very efficient and accommodating. We would highly recommend St. Ann's. Since we were in the UK for 3 weeks we ended up having lots of guest houses to compare with St. Anne's and it ended up being more at the top of the list of experiences. I would not recommend it for a romantic get away, just a sweet place to stay.

She has spent many years in the hospitality business - including in New York (so you can even order your eggs over easy and get them that way :). Our room was comfortably large, with a view over the sports complex (the cricket field). The both room (shower, no bath) was clean, roomy and bright with shiny clean subway tiles. The bed was comfortable, the temperature could be set comfortably and windows can be opened for fresh air when desired. We had a very comfortable visit indeed. The cooked breakfast was excellent together with a healthy selection of quality "continental breakfast" items. Two thumbs up - you can't go wrong here!
