This is a restaurant with rooms. Accomodation in this part of the U.K. tends to be expensive so Berties' rooms are good value at £60-£85. The rooms are comfortable and the bedding excellent. If you are arriving by car, take great care with the car park protocol, as careless parking could cost you £140!
It's a 2-star hotel but a 4-star restaurant. Run by the two Davids, usually some French staff (currently the very obliging Benoit), it offers inventive cooking in good portions: dishes like Pan Seared Scallops with honey-roasted butternut squash, Linguini with Mediterranean vegetables, and it offers a good Lunch menu @ £14.50 as well as a la carte.
