Before I even entered the building, I saw, first hand how a staff member responded to a resident in need. The resident was enjoying the fresh air outside and had taken a fall in rounding the corner. I didn't see the actual fall but as I got out of my car, I saw that he was on the ground and bleeding on his forearm, rushed over to him as he was on his hands and knees in the driveway. I told him I would stay with him until help arrived. Just then a staff member was pulling into the parking lot, likely to start her shift. She saw us, immediately pulled her car up behind the resident to block/protect him from anyone else that might be driving in, jumped out of her car, rushed over to assess his condition, called for help with a sense of urgency and thanked me for waiting there with him. I was so impressed by the sense of urgency, confidence, obvious great training, empathy, compassion and dignity shown to this resident by this staff member, I knew right away that this organization is special. I've toured many communities in my career in healthcare and now that my family member is involved, I know what to look for. More than a basic, staged "tour" of a community, I actually got to experience what this community does to care for its residents on a daily basis. That, for me, was priceless. A care community is far more than a pretty entrance, with balloons and a grand piano. It's the staff who care for the residents day-to-day that counts. I ended my tour today after having met with management, who were equally as impressive. Arbor Inn gets an A+ plus from me.

The staff treated him with such kindness, dignity, and compassion every single day. They didn't just provide care -- they built relationships. They went out of their way to make sure he was comfortable, supported, and genuinely cared for. What meant the most to us was how they also supported our family. They became like family to us -- offering reassurance, warmth, and understanding during a very emotional time. Knowing he was in such loving hands brought us tremendous peace. I recently became aware of allegations describing potentially serious issues involving resident care, supervision, sanitation, medication practices, and staff conduct. The allegations include concerns that residents may be left in soiled diapers for extended periods, receive inadequate personal care, experience neglect, and may not be properly monitored for their safety and well-being. Additional allegations suggest possible inappropriate medication practices, including the use of medications in a manner that may unnecessarily sedate residents. Concerns have also been raised regarding staff professionalism, supervision, and overall compliance with standards expected in a long-term care facility. The reports further describe incidents involving resident safety, including claims of residents wandering away, escaping supervision, suffering injuries, and other preventable events. If true, these allegations would represent a significant risk to vulnerable elderly and disabled individuals who depend on facility staff for their daily care and protection. I was lied to, lied abt, cheated of my therapy days/time, not bathed or showered, forced to endure untreated UTI, left to wet myself then blamed for it, stuff always disappearing(including my Bible, hearing aids and teeth!), manipulated by narcissist staff, ignored, not given my mail, not allowed a phone, TV never worked right so I could never really watch it and nobody would fix it, made to stay in my room, denied vaccinations, handled roughly when I could get somebody to help, friends couldn't see or even reach me! Turns out my family was in cahoots with the staff thinking I'd lived long enough (90+yrs!) and deserved to be punished. thought I was going to die here until God had mercy.

The facility called us saying my grandmother was found unresponsive, and they were calling the ambulance. A few minutes later, they called back saying "never mind, she is responsive now. We think she was unresponsive due to the position she was in (slumped over in her wheelchair)." My father requested she be put in bed, and some of the family went up to check on her. We found her still in her wheelchair and still unresponsive. She was unable to open her eyes, she couldn't speak, etc. Had we just taken their word for it, my grandma would have never been medically treated. Additionally, my grandmother waited over an hour in the rehab unit on several occasions when she hit her button to use the bathroom. Then she ended up being put in room where the button didn't work, and she had no way to request for assistance. We met maybe two people that actually cared for her and took good care of her. P.S. be warned, when they say they have nurses on staff during evening hours, they do not. It is aids only, and if you want your loved one to be seen by the doctor, forget about it.

She loved spiritual programming with Laura. Moat of all she enjoyed her apartment with housekeeping services. She claimed she was never going to cook again after moving in and she didn't. On site Dr visits when needed were the icing on the cake. when her health declined and she went out to the hospital she came back to rehab. unfortunately the end was near and she passed away comfortably supported by family and staff. Yes, sometimes you have to be patient because the nurses are very busy, but the majority of them do a fantastic job and truly care about their patients. A special thank you to Nautica, Cindy,Alexandra, and Desmond for the outstanding care and compassion they showed my dad. I also can't say enough about the physical therapists, Dawn and Mariah. They were absolutely incredible and bent over backwards to make sure my dad received the best care possible and was comfortable every step of the way.
