One was a washing machine, and todays purchase was a full size set of mattresses. This is a Thrift store with delivery service for large items. I was told while viewing the furniture area that all pictures were buy one get two free so I find 2 nice oil paintings that have $6 price tags on each. I needed to find a cart so I asked the gentleman/employee sitting in the back in the furniture area if I could set it next to him while found a cart. I return with my car and retrieve my paintings and a lady standing there commented how pretty the paintings were, to which I agreed and commented that I couldn't believe that they were only six dollars. The man/employee sitting there proceeded to tell me that the paintings were $20 each. I pointed to one the tag on the picture that said six dollars and he said that wasn't correct and I responded that most paintings on the shelf were $6 so he asked me to show him so I walked over and retrieved a third oil painting and when I returned, I saw him taking the price tags off my paintings and he then told me they were now $10 each. I called him out on it but it fell on deaf ears. I like the paintings and had no choice, but to pay the $10 at this point. I walked away with my cart and continued to browse but watched this man verbally change prices when customers inquired about items that had price tags already on them and when asked, he bullied the elderly ladies into the other . I don't feel like this is a good representation for a church thrift store let alone any store to have price bait switch combined with the fact this employee was extremely rude and a bully and I will not be going back to the thrift store nor to the church

At one point, Lisa told her helper "you might need to go to the bank for me." Then, after the three of us had a lengthy conversation about traffic on Hwy 19, Lisa reached into the cash register and handed me $40. She made it seem like she was doing me a favor by paying me $40 for at least 23 items!! Last Spring, I took about 12 items in and she paid me $45 When I browsed through the shop, I saw one blouse with a $29 price tag on it. I wish I had kept my items and donated them to my church thrift store. I will not go back, and I do not recommend the resale shop to anyone.

I pointed out to her that she may have made a mistake. She said to me there was no mistake. That was the cost due to the dollar days that they were practicing. Less inventory, higher prices & just a sad feeling of being a step child. I like to give back to Hospice, when I can & I also love a good bargain. I have been able to add to my lighthouse & mermaid collections. I Definately prefer the other store & it also has a friendlier & more upbeat vibe to it. This store used to have a treasure section, which I loved & unfortunately, it is now gone. If you are driving by, give them a try, they must might have what you are looking for. What's a girl to do?
