Sometimes, there are a few things marked up in price, but those aren't many. Employees here are always friendly and helpful. The store is kept clean and well organized. The only significant issue is with the checkout process. For some reason, every Goodwill I've been in - from Florida to Maine to Wisconsin and all points in between - is agonizingly slow. I don't understand it. However, this store does do a good job in brining more cashiers up when the line starts to back up. It's not ideal, but everything else is pretty great.

First of all, there is a thrift shop AND a food pantry, they are under the same umbrella, but two…read moredistinctly different services. I have been going to the food pantry to help supplement my monthly groceries for YEARS and I can honestly say that the food pantry at St. Vincent DePaul has probably the BEST selection of food I've ever seen when comparing food pantries. You have to realize that this is a FOOD PANTRY and not a store like Publix and the food is DONATED to the food pantry so it is going to be older than what you get fresh in the grocery store. However, that being said, while there may be a few items that are outdated or expired (READ the labels), about 90% of what I've received has been fresh and in good, very edible condition. Most of their food comes from Publix which is an elite grocery store and their BREAD especially, as it comes from Publix bakery, is always in vast supply and is delicious. I see no difference in what you get FREE from the food pantry than what you would pay for in the Publix store. They are usually crowded (because of the amount of high qualify food they give out for FREE) and you might expect to be sitting there for about an hour (sometimes more) so bring a book or something to keep you busy. Everybody who volunteers there is very polite and helpful--they can't seem to do enough for you. Again, you need to be mindful that this is a FOOD PANTRY that is providing lower income folks with FREE FOOD, so let's not be so damned picky as you are getting the food for FREE. This particular food pantry also gives A LOT of fresh fruits and vegetables, meat and chicken, in addition to the canned (pantry) staples that all food pantries give. I have come out with hamburger, ground turkey, sausage, hotdogs, ham, sometimes eggs, salad mix and other assorted vegetables, not to mention, again, all the bread that is not in short supply. I think people need to remember that they are getting this food for FREE and not be so critical about what they are getting, I mean, beggars can't be choosers, right? All in all, this food pantry has A LOT to offer and I highly recommend them to anyone who needs a little help making ends meet and getting from month-to-month with food. I was told while viewing the furniture area that all pictures were buy one get two free so I find 2 nice oil paintings that have $6 price tags on each. I needed to find a cart so I asked the gentleman/employee sitting in the back in the furniture area if I could set it next to him while found a cart. I return with my car and retrieve my paintings and a lady standing there commented how pretty the paintings were, to which I agreed and commented that I couldn't believe that they were only six dollars. The man/employee sitting there proceeded to tell me that the paintings were $20 each. I pointed to one the tag on the picture that said six dollars and he said that wasn't correct and I responded that most paintings on the shelf were $6 so he asked me to show him so I walked over and retrieved a third oil painting and when I returned, I saw him taking the price tags off my paintings and he then told me they were now $10 each. I called him out on it but it fell on deaf ears. I like the paintings and had no choice, but to pay the $10 at this point. I walked away with my cart and continued to browse but watched this man verbally change prices when customers inquired about items that had price tags already on them and when asked, he bullied the elderly ladies into the other . I don't feel like this is a good representation for a church thrift store let alone any store to have price bait switch combined with the fact this employee was extremely rude and a bully and I will not be going back to the thrift store nor to the church

At one point, Lisa told her helper "you might need to go to the bank for me." Then, after the three of us had a lengthy conversation about traffic on Hwy 19, Lisa reached into the cash register and handed me $40. She made it seem like she was doing me a favor by paying me $40 for at least 23 items!! Last Spring, I took about 12 items in and she paid me $45 When I browsed through the shop, I saw one blouse with a $29 price tag on it. I wish I had kept my items and donated them to my church thrift store. I will not go back, and I do not recommend the resale shop to anyone.
