I was driving around for a while to be allowed to go to one of the parking areas and it seems the traffic was not planned or controlled properly. Then the parking was all icy which is a safety hazard knowing a lot of young and older people walk there. Then we got inside and although it was nice, it wasn't worth the money and energy. I personally didn't feel Christmas spirit and originality. Everything about the setup was very mechanical without soul. Like a robot maybe! I think something like "candy cane lane" is a lot better experience and it gives a feeling that your in a Christmas painting. I will go back there for the market itself after holidays. I think I may enjoy the market better.

Beautiful space, but better suited for elderly mall-walkers and special events. Truth be told, there are few actual plants, particularly annuals, on offer. They seem to focus more on specialized seasonal plants, like poinsettias and Norfolk pine at Christmas, and decorative items like pumpkins, terrariums, and tropical plants. I came in mid-September for fall bedding plants and was shocked to find there were almost no plants, a few potted mums with tightly closed buds, and that was it. Not even a marigold in the whole place! What perennials they had left were leggy, there were a few scraggly trees and some sad looking pansies. Quite a pathetic showing, shocking that Home Depot and Canadian Tire have better selection! All this greenhouse space, and hardly any plants. I was pretty choked that I had driven all the way to St. Albert and left without a single bedding plant, what a waste of my gas and my time. The Enjoy Centre is actually a wannabe high-end shopping mall, out in a middle of nowhere industrial park. One of the reasons I chose to come out was to hit Evoolution, but I can do that closer to home. There's a spa onsite, an overpriced kitchen store, an overpriced health and wellness shop, and a specialty grocery store akin to Loblaws City Centre market or any Planet Organic. I'm not sure why anyone would come to the Enjoy Centre for such services, and indeed anytime I've visited, these stores are all but empty. The cafeteria is also overpriced and very average. Honestly I'd only come back here for the special events and would maybe do some gift shopping. But I'll never make the drive from Edmonton again just to peruse expensive items I can purchase elsewhere, or to buy plants, if there were any to buy!!

This course has always been known for being cheaper to play, as it has always been in fairly rough shape. New owners took over a few years ago, and the only thing that has changed is the increase in price. (You can play 18 holes at Cardiff, in much better shape, for $52). Upon getting there, the owner, who made the deal with our group, didn't remember making such a deal. The attitude was, well, if you want to play, pay up. That right there is enough for me to never go back! What horrible business practice! Then, apparently, none of his staff showed up for work. He had to work the shop and the kitchen. After a couple hours, one of the group stops at the club house to get food. No food, my cook hasn't shown up yet. Ok, so do you have anything we can take to go? owner says yes, hot dogs are ready to go. Great! Something. Well, this "ready to go" hot dog was stone cold; had to be straight out of the fridge. So now our group has been, in my opinion, swindled, and now lied to. The greens are awful; definitely not worth the price. Clearly, very poorly run. And the owner is full of excuses, while still trying to do what he can to take your money. Awful experience. Cardiff is literally 5-7 minutes from this course. Why would we pay extra to be treated poorly, on a poorly maintained golf course. Do NOT recommend.

My fiancé and I decided a long time ago our friends who own their own business would be our DJ, this did not sit well with AJ. Eventually AJ said we could use our own DJ but they would have to use his equipment and we would have to pay an equipment rental fee to him. No respectable DJ will use someone else's equipment, AJ was not happy about that. We then noticed in their wedding package that we were being charged $500 for 'decorations' AJ explained that the lattice behind the head table and the hanging balls were the reason that was so high, but we didn't ask to use these items and nor did we want the 80's looking lattice and the cheap paper balls. They did not match our vision for our wedding. I emailed AJ asking if they could be removed or if I could even cover the lattice with draping , thus spending more money on decor. I simply asked if we could come to some sort of compromise about these things. I received an immediate reply back from AJ saying that the entire month of our wedding was now fully booked. I found this quite odd considering it was only two weeks ago when we went for the tour and he had nothing booked for that month and our wedding is on Friday which is not a typical wedding day. I felt as though he was not being truthful so I had my friend inquire about a wedding there during that month on a Saturday. I got a screen shot back of AJ's reply saying that he does in fact have openings. I find this to be completely unprofessional! Not willing to compromise on the smallest things or even explain to us that it can't be done. Instead we got lied to. I hope this review serves as a warning to any future couples that they will be lied to if they try to change anything in the package that doesn't suit AJ.

When you walk in the front door and walk straight towards the hall doors to find an open room. There's a wall to separate the space from the other side where the pool table and small tables were. It wasn't busy with just a handful of people on that side. The food was set up on the left on tables and then rows of tables in front of us with chairs. It may take some maneuvering if you are seated in a middle table to get out but it wasn't too crowded. People started lining up to get food. There was beef, chicken with mango salsa (I think it was but I didn't have any as the chicken looked very pale and plain), perogies, pasta and Caesar salads, vegetables, and buns. I can't even recall if that was all the food as the food wasn't very memorable. My slice of beef was chewy so I didn't eat it. I'm glad I got enough perogies and salad to fill me up as they started to clean up the food before the people around me were done eating. I wish they would have left it out a bit longer in case people wanted more food but they could have been instructed to clean up right away to bring out the dessert. For dessert, there was a lemon cake trifle with blueberries and a mocha cake. They served it to us and we got to try both. My trifle was only cream and blueberries as it was one of the first serving so they didn't get down to the cake. But I went for seconds so I could have some cake. The mocha cake wasn't my type of flavour but coffee drinkers may like it. The service was good to clean up our dirty plates and we helped ourselves at the bar to cup and poured water from jugs. It was an ok visit but not my first choice to attend an event here.

It seemed that nobody within our budget offered the type of traditional roast beef and ham dinner with all the fixings that we wanted. After speaking to a particularily unenthusiastic caterer, I was nearly convinced I would cater the wedding myself, until I came across Elegant Affairs. When I first spoke to John on the phone, he came across as a bit more casual than you might expect; however he seemed to have a suitable answer to all of my burning questions, and offered practical solutions to my concerns. We agreed to meet with him. My fiance and I met John at his home, where we were welcomed by his adorable pooches before being ushered into his comfortable living room. As we spoke, it became quite apparent that this man not only loved what he does, but he was AMAZING at it. He even gave us a tour of his custom industrial kitchen located in a seperate area of his home. We were convinced. We arranged the contract and agreed to drop off the deposit later that week. When we went to drop off the deposit, John generously offered us VIP passes to an event that Elegant Affairs was catering, as he had extra passes that he wasn't able to use. We accepted them enthusiastically and attended the awesome event, and sampled John's food for the first time. We fell in love with the roast potatoes and knew at that moment, dinner would be a highlight of our special day. The night before the wedding, as we were setting up the hall, I had a moment of sheer terror when I realized that I had forgotten the hall rental did not include wine glasses. It was late on a friday night and I phoned John in a panic, nearly in tears actually. He was so relaxed ad calm and eased my worries right away by offering to drop off some wine glasses to me that very night! He was literally my night in shining armour and did not make it seem like it was a big inconvienience. The big day arrived and we had a wonderful service and dinner was served. John's staff introduced themselves to us and brought our meal directly to the head table, as well as to the table with my grandparents, who have reduced mobility. The service was amazing. The food was incredible. Our guests still comment to this day on how good the food was at our wedding!
