I do regret not being able to zero stars this behemoth…read more Atrocious service. We bought an iPad in Apple, Florida Mall two weeks ago. We only got to turn it on last Friday. It kept turning itself off and despite being fully powered up it said it was out of power. Simply it's clear it's not fit for purpose. We rolled up to Apple Belfast with a piece of crap not fit for purpose to be asked if we had made an appointment to see a technician. So my question was, are you having a laugh? If I went into any other business having bought something not fit for purpose we would get an apology and an immediate replacement but not Apple. Their approach was to make an appointment for us. Fortunately it was 30 minutes hence. It was 11:30am and I determined I'd give it an hour and leave to leave it to the credit card company to refund us. They sell us a piece of broken crap and keep us waiting to suit their procedures. Now there's a common expression in these parts 'arsin about'. This store had 3 or 4 staff just arsin about. Any one of them could simply have replaced the broken pad. At about noon we got a text to say our appointment was imminent but 20 more minutes would pass to get attention from Vivienne - a charmer who remained charming when I put to him that this was not a technical issue, rather it was simply a replacement and I had no intention of accepting a repair. He briefly ran a few tests and replaced the broken iPad which could have and should have been done within 5 minutes of our going in the door. Not wasting over an hour of our time. It's not disabled friendly either as the only seats are high rise stools.

Their attitude is unhelpful, they have a highly inflated view of themselves and their processes are not at all customer focussed. I was there for 1 hour 40 minutes, back to John Lewis I think. Apple need to carryout an audit on this store to get it back to an acceptable standard. I am very disappointed again with the iPhone 14 pro and the store.

Mplex is a computer repair shop inside the Smithfield Market just at the edge of North Belfast. I…read morehave been here a lot of times because I am the worlds clumsiest man and have managed to drop/kick/spill water on every computer I've ever managed to have! The guys who work there are really, really helpful and always manage to fix any problems with my computer or die trying! Their prices are based on labour and parts supplied. They charge the parts to cost and the labour is always very reasonable. Its the type of place that's going to need people to return for their services so they don't want to annoy anyone or rip them off. I've had experiences with the larger chain store repair shops such as Tech Guys in PC world and it just doesn't compare for price and quality of service. Definitely recommended.

Lurking down this quiet corridor in Smithfield market is one of the better computer repair shops…read morearound. With computers being a bit of a 'dark science' for me I always felt a bit suspicious when in the past I was quoted certain amounts for repairs and replacement parts. Being baffled with jargon seemed to be the sales technique so it was with some trepidation I lugged my fried desktop down to them. The shop itself is quite big with a small 'internet area' for browsing etc and there was a fair selection of computers and accessories for sale. I basically wanted to see what could be salvaged off my hard drive and the guy said it would be a simple (woohoo) operation with no definite guaranteed outcome. A week later he rang me to say he'd got the hard drive out intact and I could simply pop it into my new desktop whenever I got one and the data should be there. Result especially as I thought I wouldn't be able to get the data off or would have to pay big money for an expensive salvage operation. Great service and very helpful, definitely worth the trip downtown. Pros: Clear talking jargon free staff. Cons: Not the easiest to find.

The store is the usual IT experience, items for sales such as desktops, leads, cards and a plethora of accessories. I needed the services of someone with a better knowledge of IT than myself. I had a problem. My laptop had decided it didn't want to work. Admittedly it was approached four years, and for a laptop that's equivalent to our 65 year retirement age. I brought it down and explained my quandary. The staff were pretty such it was a problem with the battery itself and said they would have a look. Two days later and behold, it is reborn. One new battery and £40 later I am free to roam the coffee shops again. The experience was all positive. Staff were helpful and friendly and charged a fair amount for the check-up and new battery.

Thankfully, I took it into Prestige, mostly because of their location - I could drop it in and pick it up really easily before or after work. They knew pretty quickly that the hard-drive was fried (literally, parts of the PC were cooked!), and took it in to intensive care. It took a few days for them to ring me back to give me the good news, but they had replaced the hard drive and fixed a few other little niggles in the thing, I don't honestly know if the price I was charged was fair, having never had to take a computer to the doctors, but they did a good job. The laptop now works better than ever and I'll definitely be back to give it a check up in six months.

I left my Toshiba laptop computer in with these people in about October 2012 to be repaired. When…read moreI called about a week later, they said it would cost £160 to get fixed, £40 for a replacement hinge and £100 to repair something internally. I said I could not afford that at the moment and would take my computer and come back when I had the money. The man told me I could safely leave my computer with them until I had the money to fix it and this I did. When I got Christmas over I went back to the shop. I was told they didn't have my computer there but he would find out where it was and ring me. He didnt but I called in again and was told that it was up in their Glengormley warehouse and they would get it down for next week. Next week I called and the guy said he still hadn't received it back. I called the following week and he told me he had got it back but they couldn't fix it and there was no point in me taking it and he could sell me a second hand one. I told him no I wanted my own computer and would try elsewhere to get it fixed. He insisted that my computer was useless and not worth me taking back from him. I told him no I wanted my own computer. He told me to come back the following week. I came back the following week and was told he was waiting for a part for it from Dublin. I was baffled as they were not fixing it so what was the part. Anyway I was suspicious all along that they had before Christmas removed parts from my computer, ie dissected my computer and were now trying to put it together again. He told me he would ring me but of course he didn't so I called in the next week; another man was there who said nothing and just handed me back my computer. I dreaded what state it might be in. I took it to a repair agent, whom I knew to be reputable. He told me that whoever worked on it last had damaged the hard-drive beyond repair and that the motherboard was damaged. I was not surprised that the inside of my computer was destroyed and was dubious that the hard-drive was even mine. I suspect that after removing my good hard-drive and using it, they stuck an old faulty hard-drive into my computer, as my hard-drive was perfect when it went into their shop. I am writing this to warn others not to use these cheaters, who stole the hard-drive out of my computer and handed me back a computer which is scrap.
