All of the old Ampex and RCA "quad" machines have long ago been scrapped. After scouring the US, I finally found Roger Brett at transfermedia.tv. I can't express how much I appreciate his knowledge and ability to take a 50+ year old, 2 inch videotape from the days of "steam powered" television and produce a top quality .mp4 finished product at a very reasonable price. I'm not sure what magic he uses, but the end result was far superior to the original I sent him. There were no glitches or "drop out" in the tape, the colors were vibrant, and the resolution was enhanced. I couldn't be more pleased with his services. The only downside is that I had to wait in the queue for a couple of weeks before he could get to me. That's a small price to pay for the quality of his work. I've used some of the other consumer level video services (I'm sure you have seen them advertised), but their quality and value don't compare to Roger's work. I highly recommend him!
