Truly awesome record stores where you can hang and talk music and discover cool stuff are few and few between these days, making SqueezeBox an unusual gem -- especially for Wilmington, DE in the 21st century. Great shop, great space, very good well-curated selection that's always a blast to go through when they get new inventory, and a good bargain bin that actually has great stuff that's not the usual $1 records you see in thrift stores that have been cleaned out of anything remotely interesting. Great resource for getting your vinyl fix. Not a huge selection, (it's in an old garage) but quality all around. Surely something for everyone. Prices are reasonable. They also have a selection of vintage turntables, which is nice. Great hang out spot as well. There is a little living room type set up where you can hang out and listen to tunes, read a book, whateves. You can even bring your own records and they'll spin them for you. Keep your eye on the calendar for local band nights also. Matt, Rich and Garrett are very personable and want to keep you satisfied, plan a little extra time to talk to talk to these guy. As for the selling, I will be steering clear. I sell on a regular and went in on for a test run. Ended up with 10 cent on the dollar. So, if you're looking for a 90/10 split in their favor you'll do fine. I prefer closer to a 50/50 which is out there so do your research before selling anywhere. Out of respect I won't mention other dealers in this review, but they are out there so look around before you sell. Personally I would rather give albums to the Salvation Army to sell for $1 than hand them over them to a record store for $.10 each. How badly do you need that dime after all? I will say that they are willing to take everything off your hands, but know what you have before you go in so you don't get soaked. read more

If you're looking for a place to get lost in vinyl, you've come to the right place. SqueezeBox Records is obviously a labor of love for owner, Rich, who couldn't be more welcoming nor knowledgeable about spinning records. His collection is deep, prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is straight up nirvana for vinyl lovers. Don't expect flashy, but that's a good thing. Show up, bring your lunch, browse a bit, then sit in the comfy sofas, chow down and talk music. They even have some live local music matinee events coming up. We drove 35 miles to check out this place, came home with a handful of fabulous musical treasures and are now reaping the rewards. Thanks, Rich! Keep up the good work! read more

In just a short amount of time, SqueezeBox Records has become the anchor in the ongoing revitalization of Union Street that includes El Toro taking over the famed Blue Parrot and the new, bike-friendly traffic pattern. Tucked behind the auto dealerships on 11th Street between Union and Lincoln Streets, Rich Fisher and his wife, Kim Gold, have created a unique spot... A true vinyl shop, first and foremost, that is also part lounge/hang spot. Local bands also play in the former garage some weekends and musically themed artwork and memorabilia hang throughout the space. You can spend literally hours going through Rich's "collection" and talking about which great shows you've both seen. I have yet to come back from SqueezeBox empty handed. In our digital, social media age, it's nice to put on a record, sit on their vintage furniture, and just chill. As Rich likes to say, "Once you go vinyl, you don't go back." This record shop is now my local favorite. Rich the owner is very friendly and knowledgeable. Ask him any questions you might have. He is passionate about music and vinyl records. The lounge is very unique and very comfortable. Once you sit in the lounge you will never want to never leave. They even have space set aside for live music. This is a great record store, for Delaware. The prices are fair and accurate to the condition of the LP. There is a decent Jazz and blues section. Rich has a nice little assortment of vintage turntables and amps too. I was impressed with how many "must-haves" were available. For instance, they had copies of all nine Led Zeppelin studio albums and the all 7 of the 1970s Steely Dan records. These are fairly common records but it is uncommon to see completeness like that. Also, the store is open until 8pm weekdays (unlike a local competitor), which is great for those of us with day jobs. Lastly, they have live music Saturday afternoons. I only had about a half hour to explore the store but I will be returning. read more

I am a new record collector and this was the fifth record shop I've been too. It is absolutely amazing. The owner taught me so much about collecting and vinyl in general. There is a great budget section where you can get records for as low as a dollar, as a college student that was very helpful to me. Beginner to advanced record collectors, you will immediately feel welcomed and the owner and staff will immediately help you find what your looking for. Will definitely be going back soon. read more
