They really did a nice job on the patio for my pole barn. Dave is very responsive to his customers. His workers are long term and very good at any kind of paver job. I would not hesitate to hire them again. They left the site clean as they found it. While this was a straight forward job, they also do paver steps and curved walks. read more

We just wrapped up our landscaping project (hardscape, plants, irrigation, & sod) with Squeals for our new construction home. My family and I could not be happier with the end results. I would recommend David (owner) and his team to anybody looking to design and implement their landscaping plan. David is super passionate about his work. You'll notice this the first time you speak to him. Another thing you'll notice is that he's not a typical "salesman." He won't just tell you what you want to hear. He's honest, ethical, and sometimes blunt, but he does this in the best interest of his customers. He wants truly make his customers happy by delivering VALUE and not trying to upsell anywhere he can. Another area of importance where David excels is his transparency. Everything in his quotes are fully itemized (no bundle pricing which makes it difficult for customers to decide what items are worth the cost). David and his team did a phenomenal job. When first speaking with David he quoted us 14,000 dollars for under our deck and surrounding area. (we discussed a hot tub base and expanding the sides of our driveway) After the original quote we called in and asked for more area for a fire place and a potential staircase, he explained that would raise the total and he would itemize each part. Which made sense. David did not mention it would raise the total from 14000 to 54000 dollars. When explaining to David I thought it was crazy to not warn someone he said he did warn me.. David also disputes the facts about the original meeting. Overall he is tough to deal with. So in the end my wife and I paid 500 dollars for a hand drawing (that our name is spelled wrong on and is in his possession still) of a patio that we cannot afford to ever build. I will admit I should have had better communication about max budget I guess I just didn't think David would go 14 to 54 k and think thats fine.. lesson learned for me and I hope I can save you all the 500 dollar hand drawn mess.. They were very knowledgeable about the brands and styles of pavers on the market, and I appreciated their honesty about which brand and style of pavers would fit into our vision and our budget. RUDE!!!! Don't contact them unless you have an expensive and extensive project. I work in the service industry and pride myself on exceptional customer service. Unfortunately this company does not know how to speak to or treat customers. David was extremely abrasive and rude each time we spoke to him throughout the process of getting a quote. We were looking to extend our patio, but apparently the job was not worth this company's time. I understand if the job was too small, but customers should be responded to in a timely manner and treated with respect. read more

Squeals just finished doing an absolutely incredible job with our landscaping. I cannot even begin to explain how happy we have been with the entire process. David was incredibly professional, responsive, helpful and quiet frankly passionate about what him and his incredible team do. We have a new build and he broke down every step of the process for us, talked through any concerns we might have and make sure we were happy and in agreement the entire process. He is direct and to the point which makes you feel comfortable that if he doesn't believe in something you want you will hear it. There were zero surprises. The property looks beautiful and exactly like the detailed rendering that he provided us. His team is also professional, prompt and hard working. You get what you pay for and I would hire Squeals again in a heart beat to do our property if we ever moved. 30+ years in the business and being an expert in this field from everything to grading, ground conditions, pavers, weather issues, HOA requirements, etc. David was on top of them all. I am shocked by a couple of the reviews I am reading about Squeals Landscaping. Dave Biel, the owner / Squeals has done work for us at two different houses. Two sidewalks and a two tiered patio with sitting wall and pedestal columns . . . his quote was very competitive . . . they completed the work as promised and it looked beautiful. Four years after the install I called him as the bricks on the columns and sitting wall were leaching something that stained the bricks. Dave came out immediately when I called him, indicated it was a known product defect by the brick company and replaced all the defective materials . . . at no charge and quickly. At a house we build in 2015 Dave / Squeals installed a sea wall, sidewalks, steps up to front door, large patio . . . all for less than others quoted. They also installed sod, Dave personally helped me pick out plantings taking me to two different nurseries. Did all the work, on time and whenever I've called him to come out to look at something he comes out right away and takes care of any problem. If you want someone that over promises and under delivers, this is your company. David Biel will talk a big story and give you all these guarantees. In reality, he is always looking for ways to cut corners and when something goes wrong he is full of excuses, then stops returning your calls. I guess he figures if you ignore the problem it will go away. If you choose to have them do brick pavers for you, make sure you insist on polymeric sand to fill the joints, otherwise he will use regular sand, because it is easier and cheaper. Polymeric sand when installed properly, hardens in the joints creating a more rigid joint and prevents weeds from growing in the cracks. But beware, even if you insist on polymeric sand, he will try to slip in regular sand. I had steps and retaining walls built with brick pavers. After a couple years, I have bricks on steps, coming loose, causing a safety hazard. I have had to re glue approximately 20 pavers. He will tell you he gives a ten year guarantee on his brick paver jobs and guarantees they will remain flat. I have a sidewalk he installed two years ago, that already needs to be redone because it looks like a wave pool. I spent well over six figures with this guy, I have dying trees and brick pavers that need repair and he won't call back. read more
