Three Rivers is a picturesque and charming community located in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada…read moremountains. If you are visiting this tiny unincorporated town, you are likely here for Lake activities, the river or are visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks. The town is named because of the north, south and middle forks of the Kaweah River. The river is gorgeous and there are both sandy beaches and sections full of pebbles and boulders, sometimes with raging rapids. Interestingly, because of the homes, businesses and other properties along the main drag it is pretty well impossible to find public river access off the main road. Best to visit one of the park areas to access the river. Local residents have no trespassing signs everywhere and don't appreciate the disrespect of visitors who don't follow the rules. Back to the rivers. These rivers provide ample opportunities for fishing, swimming and kayaking. The nearby Sequoia National Park is home to the world's largest trees, the giant sequoias, including the famous General Sherman Tree. The park gets very busy and there could be an hour wait just to get in during the summer months. Be sure to reserve your pass online well in advance of your visit. Despite its small size, Three Rivers does seem to have a vibrant and close-knit community. The town has a cultural scene with local art galleries, music festivals and community events. Several of the restaurants -- and there aren't many -- have live music on some days. Overall, the town caters to tourists with various lodging options, to include bed-and-breakfasts, cabins and campsites. There are an awful lot of Airbnbs as well. Overall, the town is an ideal place for those looking for a tranquil, rural setting while enjoying a secluded and serene environment. You are likely to see tons of birds, squirrels, frogs, possibly bears and rattlesnakes.

It was my son's first time he's 17months, I have an almost 4 yo and my nephew is 8yo. We normally visit the beginning for the month but this past weekend was the only weekend that worked with our schedule and they do recommend visiting earlier since it's not as busy. We arrived just alittle around 11am there was a line at the entrance. Entrance fee is $10/car (suggest carpooling). There was definitely quite a bit of ppl. From reading recent reviews I'd said our experience was better than theirs despite the busy weekend. Thankfully they allowed us in to park, it was busy and we ended up parking on the second dirt lot. We did our normal train ride and hayride. The line for the train ride was extremely long we waited about an hour. But it was also my first time experiencing the train going all the way down to the pumpkin patch area. Which was quite nice, the ride was longer and it saved us a trip walking down hill with our littles. The hayride was probably a 15-20min wait. The prices had little to no change since our last visit 2 years ago. We decided to eat some tacos at Charlie's since they weren't busy and it was the closest food vendor also prices were very reasonable. Ordered 4 tacos and one quesadillas for the kids and it was pretty good, the service was fast and friendly. They addressed the long wait issues and reassured the public that they are working on getting another train, working on a bridge to alleviate the traffic and getting more staff. Overall I do highly recommend going the weekend in the beginning of the month to avoid long waits and the crowds. We did see so many vendors on the area where the train rides were but we were just to tired and so were the kids that we didn't get to check it out. Perhaps next year. The kids had fun regardless. The staff we encountered were nice.

And take you back to the beginning. There is also a tractor ride that also takes you to see the whole place. The rides are beautiful both of them. I love the trees and the decorations and everything. They do a very good job arranging everything. We came last year and we bought tickets for the train but there was a bee attack. I had a flowery blouse and they were on me all the time I was there. So we had to leave. Good thing I saved the tickets and they honored them this time. They told me if I don't used them that day I could come in Christmas and use them then. I thought it was nice that they do that. So we used two tickets and now we have a good excuse to come back on Christmas. yay! The prices are modest. Everyone around were enjoying themselves. Very fantastic place to spend the evening. They only open on weekends though. So plan ahead.

The idea of a new set of rules, new standards, expectations I am not ready to meet, compromises I would never volunteer to...I am not ready for that. I did, however, since my transition from my ex of 8 years propose to someone who I truly love who would understand that I didn't want to follow the above. I even settled for a secret wedding at City Hall in which non of our families would know, we would live on our own and meet each other on the weekend. It was something just for us, the healthy way. This proposal would be a dream for any man in a relationship, however, our relationship wasn't that of a traditional nature to begin with. He rejected my proposal, however, I didn't see it as a rejection of me personally. It was just that he saw marriage in a different light than I. I asked most of my guy friends as to why they don't want to get married and most were unanimous in stating that it wasn't so much about not wanting to spend the rest of their lives with their women but that it was about conforming to the rules of marriage. The lack of freedom that gets compromised in exchange for a happy ever after isn't a selling point. On the women's side, it seemed more of a proof of love in association with cultural pressure. My theory is whether you're married or not, if he's committed he will stay and be a loving partner. Wedding rings don't prevent a man from cheating or guarantee happiness. I have experience in that department. It looks worse for a women in the eyes of society and culture if by 30 you're not married. My family sees my sister at age 37 as hopeless. What I learned today is that regardless of how we saw it, it was a lot healthier, real and sane in comparison to the bridzillas that filled the Trade & Convention Center and the husbands in tow wishing that they could take back the proposal, now seeing their demanding wives to be in a new light. I was given a few free passes and used it as a human study project more than anything. My "date" for the evening used it as the same. I was surprisingly brave considering that a year ago, I was planning my own wedding. If anything this was a cathartic outing and finally closed a chapter in my life so that I could move on. They had booths from everything from cake, wedding favors, limo service, suits and wedding dress options, however, what they didn't have is a law office booth for pre nuptial agreements. Considering that 6 out of 10 couples under the age of 30 get divorced within the first 5 years, you would think that the legal service aid industry would be popular at wedding trade shows. Another booth that was surprisingly not present was the VPD domestic violence prevention booth considering that the large demographic of East Asians in attendance. Considering that I am East Asian myself, I can honestly say that disciplining your wife comes with the cultural territory. The best booth was the pimped out port a pots, air conditioned and heated to suit the season. Nothing says a lavish wedding like a pimped out set of portable toilets. My date on the other hand was hit by the wedding bug and looked at me with "those eyes" at the idea of getting married at the Public Library, where all the greatest love stories were told and written so that we could someday write our own.

The owner and staff were super welcoming and walked us through all their offerings, which made the experience even better. We kicked things off with a cider flight--our favorites were Early Harvest and Graveyard. Early Harvest was simple, crisp, and just sweet enough, while Graveyard reminded me of a Scottish smoky cider aged in whiskey barrels. I do wish there were a few more sweet options overall and possibly a current up to date list of what's on tap somewhere online, but everything was well-crafted and flavorful! To cool off, we grabbed a cider slushy (highly recommend!) and wandered the property. We visited the goats, strolled through the apple trees, and made friends with their big fluffy Pyrenees who was living his best life napping in the shade. I picked up a bottle of Early Harvest and a t-shirt to bring back to DFW. It was the perfect stop--relaxed, local, and a great way to start the afternoon before heading into Yosemite. After our tasting, we walked through some of the apple trees, visited the cutest goats, and made friends with their big, lazy Pyrenees dog who was living his best life soaking up attention. I picked up a bottle of Early Harvest and a t-shirt to bring back to DFW--both worth it! Such a charming little spot--relaxed, scenic, and just the right detour before Yosemite!

Next to the Coffee Pot Water Tower, there is a nice little park. It's called Downtown Park. A good place to young children to run around and play on the playground equipment. In this same area is the Fire Station and the Historic Kingsburg Jail. Be sure to see the Kingsburg mural across the street from Bella Creamery. You can also see 2 Storm Trooper painted in alcove next to the mural. We had a couple of scoops of ice cream from Bella Creamery. They have a variety of ice cream made with either Cow Milk or Sheep Milk. Bella also has a Bakery next door. Kingsburg used to plant grape vineyards for grapes and raisins. In 2002, they replaced the vineyards for stone fruit trees. Sun-Maid Growers of California has their headquarters here. Students from CSU Fresno built the Largest Box of Raisins located at 13525 S. Bethel Avenue. Something to see, plus they have a store you can visit! I really enjoyed visiting this Swedish town!
