I'm incredibly grateful for the support and guidance I received throughout my Chapter 7 bankruptcy…read moreprocess. Filing for bankruptcy was something I never imagined I would have to do, especially at my age. After becoming sick and being unable to work for almost two years, I struggled to keep up with my credit card debt while also going through a very difficult time emotionally. The entire team was patient, understanding, and incredibly helpful. They walked me through every step, answered all my questions, and reassured me whenever I felt overwhelmed. Even though my situation made the process take longer than expected, they never made me feel rushed or judged. They made everything feel much more manageable than I expected. What I really appreciated was that they didn't just help me file for bankruptcy and leave me to figure things out on my own. They provided the required financial courses and resources to help me better understand how to manage my money moving forward. They were also very thorough with communication and always provided clear lists and instructions of what to expect, what needed to be done, and what the next steps were. Having that guidance made the entire process feel organized and much less overwhelming. I was honestly very nervous in the beginning because I couldn't see a way out of the debt I had accumulated. Their reassurance and guidance helped me realize that I could get through it and that there was still a path forward for me. I highly recommend them to anyone who may be considering bankruptcy. If you're feeling scared or unsure like I was, know that you don't have to go through it alone. I'm so thankful for their compassion, patience, and support throughout this experience, and for helping me start this new chapter with a fresh start.

I never in my life thought I'd file for bankruptcy -- especially because I've always had a good…read morecredit score and always made my payments on time. I felt ashamed at first and honestly didn't know what to expect. From the very first meeting until now, every single person I've spoken with at Blake Goodman, PC has been welcoming, compassionate, and understanding during one of the hardest times in my life. Their entire team brought light into such a dark situation for me. These guys truly know what they're doing. They handle EVERYTHING. What impressed me the most is that they don't just help you file -- they genuinely want you to thrive and become better financially moving forward. They even provide a course that teaches you how to better manage your finances and rebuild. They take over the stressful collector calls, explain every single step of the process, walk you through what each document means, and prepare you for what to expect during judgment. They make something that feels terrifying feel manageable. I've been dealing with physical illness, severe depression, and anxiety to the point where I barely even text people back anymore. I recently went through a painful breakup after being cheated on, and honestly, I haven't truly smiled or laughed in almost a year. Before my appointment today, I was in a very dark place emotionally. Then I met Vai and Nicole. They were so organized, informative, professional, and most importantly -- compassionate. They treated me like a human being instead of just another client. I genuinely had to fight back tears because it's been so long since I felt cared for or even laughed. For the first time in a long time, I left feeling lighter. Vai and Nicole truly made an impact on my life today, and I will forever be grateful for them and this entire team. They made this whole transition feel so smooth that I literally joked, "Y'all gotta charge us more!" lol. Thank you again for everything.

I had a bankruptcy consultation and was asked to submit detailed financial documents in advance,…read morewhich I did expecting a focused discussion of my options. The call lasted about 1.5 hours, but much of the time was spent reviewing information I had already provided rather than explaining strategy. The main issue I wanted clarity on--why Chapter 13 was recommended over Chapter 7--was not meaningfully addressed. After the call, I sent five reasonable follow-up questions about that recommendation. Shortly afterward, my appointment was canceled, and I was told the attorney did not feel comfortable moving forward with my case. I respect that attorneys can choose their clients, but I was surprised that asking for clarification before committing to a multi-year repayment plan resulted in the engagement being declined. If you're seeking a consultation with detailed explanation of options, it may help to confirm expectations upfront.

Where do I begin..? Just as many others have said previously, there should be an option for me to…read moreleave ZERO stars.. I have been enduring years of emotional trauma and negligence on the part of this "law firm". They have been attempting to force my employer to garnish my paycheck for an amount that isn't owed by ME. They took it as far as to go to court and have a judgement filed against "me". However, the person listed on the court documents and in the law firms cover letter is not in fact ME. They provided a full social security number to which only the first 3 numbers aligned with mine, that was the first clue into this "mystery" debacle. Each time that this has happened, I have reached out to the law firm and the collections agency in TEARS because I've never experienced this before and was understandably concerned and terrified. Firstly, the collections agency confirmed that they do NOT have any open accounts that share my name, social security number, property address and birthdate. They DO have another person with my name under the social security number I provided from the judgement but they have a different property address and birthdate. Understandably, they could NOT share that persons personal information with me but they confirmed that this is NOT for me. I shared that information with the law firm and they confirmed that they will rectify the situation and apologized. I'm sure it goes without saying but they did NOT in fact rectify anything and instead are pursuing having my paycheck garnished even AFTER I sent in documents clearly showing all of my personal information and proving that I am not in fact the same person. Just as many others in Hawaii, we live on a very tight budget due to the costs of living here in the islands. It is NOT okay that this law firm couldn't be bothered to do their due diligence to confirm that the person they're pursuing legal actions against is the CORRECT person. They are tarnishing my reputation with my employer and could cause me to be unable to pay my mortgage should my employer have no choice but to garnish my upcoming paychecks. The emotional trauma that I have been forced to endure is not only unfair but it is debilitating and humiliating. I don't know what more I can do to get this law firm to STOP harassing me and to rectify this situation. I will be seeking legal assistance and pursuing damages should this continue. NOTE - I have no idea why it says I'm in California.. I'm in Hawaii.
