At one side of the park, there were tennis courts that were filled with plenty of people walking about during the middle of a work day. And there were sand pits too with little kiddos running around. And as you continue walking, there was a palace looking structure with a fountain out front. It was a beautiful sight to behold. The shrubbery and flowers in the area were so pretty even in the fall. There were chairs aplenty so taking a moment to enjoy the scenery was such a Parisian thing to do. Walking throughout the park, there were interesting statues everywhere. We even stumbled upon a miniature Statute of Liberty that was gifted from the United States to France. If you have some time, take a quick walk through the garden. It's really pretty and clean.

This is exactly why it's worth a visit - add something a bit different to your Paris trip. Landscape design is outstanding - you will find an artificial lake, a grotto and waterfalls. One of the two bridges was designed by Gustave Eiffel. The park is hilly and you can enjoy amazing views of Paris from different points. One of the highest points is Temple de la Sibylle (50m above the lake). You can see Basilique du Sacré-Cœur de Montmartre from here. This place is great for running - you can do flat circles around the lake or hilly runs everywhere, there are some 8 kilometers of roads and paths. One of the three restaurants, Rosa Bonheur, is really popular, it may take an hour of waiting to get in on weekends. You can find 5 areas with free Wi-Fi in the park. Exploring the area, I found this gem of a Parc. I love exploring where the locals go for relaxation and where they eat. After a tasty meal nearby, my friend Mats flew in from London and we explored this lovely park. We mostly stayed under the tree lined paths because it was a hot day. For a park, we were here on a Wednesday around 2pm, lots of people looking like they are having a siesta or a break from work. Everyone seemed friendly, kept to themselves. The park is rich with different plants, trees and flowers. We hiked up to the highest point, from here you have an observation look out on the rooftops of Paris and a gorgeous view of Sacre Coeur. On the way to the top, you get to cross a bridge and below is a little lake. Some parts are rather steep, go at your own pace and bring a bottled water on a hot day and a plus if you wear a hat. Every turn you go into this park had something appealing. If you look at my images, there is also a cave. During raining season, the cave has a waterfall in it, it's very pretty. Plenty of grass room to have a picnic, take a nap or read a book. If you opt for something else, lots of park benches that faces the lake. A wonderful oasis in the heart of Paris. The question is whether you'd want to come back as a more seasoned Francophile tourist. Despite being constantly overcrowded, the answer is definitely yes. This has been the definitive green space that has epitomized classic garden architecture since the 16th century. The fountains, geometric layout, the Musee de l'Orangerie, and ornate statues by the likes of Rodin and Maillol give it the traditional French style we come to expect in Paris. It's also an unquestionable hub for social activity with playgrounds and sailboats on the Grand Bassin. Unfortunately, Jamie W and I weren't here during one of the seasonal events like the summer Fête des Tuileries when a carnival midway is set up, or Paris Fashion Week when runways are built and celebrities flock in frocks, or the Christmas market. Originally called Place Royale, it is located in the Marais. The large park and garden is surrounded by elegant buildings erected in 1605. They were once home to Catherine de Medici and Victor Hugo. Today the park is still beautiful and open to the public. It was a great spot to enjoy my pain au chocolate one morning. The buildings now house a couple of 5 star hotels. Wouldn't you wake up like royalty staying here ? There also several art galleries, restaurants and cafés along the ground level with gorgeous interiors and fabulous outdoor dining under the porticos. My favorite shopping spot is in the north west corner- Juliette Has A Gun. I packed a more affordable hotel a couple of blocks away, but passed through here daily. Grabbing breakfast or snacks as heading to other parts of Paris.

Benches dot the perimeter if sitting on grass sounds like a nightmare (it would be if I didn't have my trusty travel blanket with me.) The dirt areas combined with no colorful flowers in bloom make the park feel somewhat drab. Some nuisances to contend with: bees (so many bees) & aggressive peddlers of everything from alcohol to cheap souvenirs. Though there are far prettier parks in Paris, having the iconic structure seemingly within reach is the draw here. Check it out once; it is worth being on your Paris itinerary, especially if it's your first time here.

We were in the Paris district of Pigalle and were walking back towards Champs-Elysées. This park was in the way to our hotel and we walked through it. It's open from sunrise to sunset for the public. There were many locals and tourists walking/running. Some people with carry-ons, others walking after work to go home etc. Just different people in the outdoor environment. Parc Monceau is well maintained with nice walkways, variety of statues to sightsee, pretty flowers and trees throughout. Overall, if you live near it or visiting near by, stop by and get your walk on. They also have benches to sit and enjoy the atmosphere.~

There is a lot benches to sit on and enjoy the view. This is not a touristy place. Here you can find people jogging, playing with kids, having picnic, doing photoshoots, relaxing and even getting tanned during hot summer days. Claude Monet painted several views of this park, which can be found at the Met in New York.

It was well-worth packing a picnic in the city and taking a metro for a while to get a bit a of green break from the grays and limestones of Paris.

Free public art in Paris, France…read more.. Our friend was so excited to share this landmark... The Wall of Love Le Mur des je t'Aime is translated to The Wall of I Love Yous... (plural) It features the phrase, "I love you" in many different languages. On 5.11.26, it was still being repaired, so the English phrase was blocked from view. Maybe when we visit again, we'll be able to see it! Notes: we found free street parking a couple of blocks away. On the way to The Wall, we passed many shops and a carousel!

It is a small but meaningful landmark tucked inside Square Jehan Rictus, just steps from the Abbesses metro station. The installation is composed of deep blue tiles covering an entire wall with the phrase "I love you" written in more than 250 languages. Seeing the same message expressed in so many languages creates a simple but powerful visual statement about love and connection across cultures. The design is minimalist but thoughtful. The white handwritten text contrasts beautifully with the dark blue background, while small red fragments scattered across the wall symbolize pieces of a broken heart that humanity can reunite through love. Although the site itself is not large, it carries a quiet charm that fits perfectly with the artistic atmosphere of Montmartre. See, I was on my way from Grenoble to Charles de Gaulle to fly out. I arrived at the bus station in the early morning and had some time to kill before I needed to get on the metro. The park, with its abundant seating areas and no lack of greenery, made for a great place to spend the time--much better than a Brioche Doree or Starbucks. Parc de Bercy is sizable, with enough features to ensure it would be fresh on multiple visits, though I only directly experienced a few of them. Plus, it wasn't too busy in the morning--good for catching a break while traveling but not great for people-watching.

It's like 3 different parks in one, so be sure to stroll the entire span of it before picking your spot. There's a family-friendly area with a carousel and big oak trees. And lastly (my favorite) a large shady area with a rivers, ponds, fountains lots of youngins napping peacefully (ok, they were all making out) and enjoying the good life on a Saturday afternoon. It feels like a great getaway from the speedy Parisian pace.
