My employer will reimburse me a certain amount back for the tuition which I could not pass up. Second, having an additional cert will open up more doors in the medical field for me. As much as I hate blood, I stick children and teens every day. Lol... I chose the weekend class which is 5 Saturdays from 8am to 4:30 pm. Just remember you aren't too old to go back to school to make that dream of yours come true. My first day was absolute amazing. Our teacher was amazing. Her name is Lindsey Kline and she is full of positive real spirit, humor, honesty and direct. Lindsey works at a prison and her skin is thick. She is there for you every step of the way. Lindsey provides the guidance and support during Q&A and your blood draws. She's very responsive. I've completed my class yesterday and I know I will miss attending class. We had an awesome group of people that were always joking around, laughing and helping each other make our goals. Lindsey makes you feel comfortable and I loved her style of teaching. There aren't no shortcuts. It may seem like a short time of learning to get certified but she had given us all the knowledge we need and carry us through to prep for our NHA exam.

The class really left us feeling like these were techniques we could easily continue practicing at home. The value of the class was great since we used a Groupon deal. 2 hour class, guys were on the tables first and then the girls. One of the guys in our class fell asleep while on the table which I guess is a good sign? The slanted roof was a bit bothersome for the part of the class when I had to sit on that side of the table, and I'm pretty short so I can't imagine how tall people manage in this location. That being said, I believe that the SF location has more tables and I do prefer a smaller group for this class. Ladies, you will get topless under your blankets so make sure your partner makes a good blanket tent to cover you up! Another thing I wasn't expecting was that we had to remove our shoes at the door so I wouldn't wear flip flops next time. After the class, our teacher struggled with her Square reader when some of us tried to purchase the second class. A bit of wasted time and eventually she gave up, but luckily the owner was very good about contacting us after and making sure we got our purchase figured out. I'd probably try a new instructor for the second series just to vary our learning experiences even more.

I was a student at Coding Dojo about a year ago, and despite the stress and frustrations with the…read morelessons/assignments and whatnot, I thoroughly enjoyed my time at the dojo. I understand the frustration that people have had with the dojo and not being able to obtain a job in the coding field after completing the boot camp, but you only get the most out of the course if you put in the time and effort. With that being said, attending the dojo definitely altered my mindset to becoming a better problem solver, and I utilized this newfound mindset to continue learning technologies that would lead me to obtaining a career in tech (in this case, I focused mainly on React.js, which the dojo did not have a curriculum in during the time which I attended). The relationships that I developed during my time at the dojo also prove to be invaluable, as I continue to maintain contact with some of my cohort-mates. Despite that not all of us continued to pursue a career in tech after the boot camp ended, we continue to push ourselves and motivate each other towards whatever goals that we wish to pursue. As for the instructors, it really depends on your learning style. Some people learn better with someone verbally going over materials, while others are self-sufficient with simply reading text and following examples on-screen. Some instructors simply read over the materials already displayed on the curriculum, while others have smaller group activities to ensure that the students have a better understanding of the material of the day (the latter method of which I prefer). Overall, I enjoyed my experience at the dojo. If you are an individual who learns better based on a "strength through struggle" mindset, then this is a place for you.

The fact is you can learn anything on your own and don't need this place there are many Free and Useful resources online and elsewhere save your money and just put in the work. Most from my cohort is still in IT roles not Engineering. Save your money. Put in the work and do free online or lesser paid tracks. Goodluck to you all!
