I found Thrive when I was struggling as a Yoga teacher in the SF Bay Area. I made $100 for a private session and less for yoga classes. Studying with these guys, I doubled my intuitive coaching revenue twice, and hit 6-figures and beyond. But more importantly, I connected with a great community, and learned how to do what my soul came here to do, and make money doing it. Highly recommended. But I feel l like I should tell you more, even. Thrive Academy offers business development training specifically for holistic practitioners, heart-centered coaches, and spiritually-minded folk who want to make great money doing what their heart loves most. They are brave to teach this stuff to woo-woo folk who are so resistant to marketing and making money! And I'm so glad they're doing it, cause they teach marketing with spiritual integrity. First, I took their Client Attraction Mastery training, and doubled my practice as an intuitive coach within a month after the first weekend. Seriously. It wasn't even hard if I followed their stuff, and it did not make me feel queasy like other marketing approaches. Their classes include two live weekend trainings (where you really get an awesome community plus live support in a super fun weekend) plus tons of support and everything online too, templates for EVERYthing you wanna do - even for how to do follow up calls, or how to write an email to get referrals, or how to structure an intro session to give great value and determine fit with clients. I took their Get Leverage program next, which taught me how to offer group & online classes, so I wasn't getting exhausted working one-on-one anymore. I put a group program together during the first weekend of this class, and by the next weekend, I'd started it and my monthly revenue had doubled again, putting me into their "$10K/month club." Then I took their Speaker training, and I learned how to structure my long-winded intuitive woo-woo talk into clear valuable content whenever I speak. I started doing webinars (easier than you'd think) and made 50% more AGAIN without working extra hours. So, um, yah. Thrive Academy works. But you HAVE to actually do the work. And I think that's why you've got some woo-woo folk throwing them a one star review here and there. I think Thrive is really brave trying to teach spiritual people (many of whom are against money, business, and marketing) how to make money. Yet Thrive does this better than any other trainers I know cause they have a lot of heart themselves, and so their ways of marketing are not wobbly-spined, but they are also NOT pushy, manipulative, and obnoxious. They are empowering, encouraging, and no-BS. I know way too many gifted spiritual practitioners who remain unknown, unpaid, and struggling to make rent. Frankly, that frustrates me. This world needs those people doing their thing, I think. And I'm grateful to Thrive for teaching me how to do it (I never dreamed I'd be sending my son off to a private college this year! I never thought I would afford it!), and I'm grateful to them for having the cajones to teach business to a very resistant audience who needs it most. Those of us who do the work, succeed. I LOVE Thrive! when I first met Jesse and Sharla back in 2011, I already had a really healthy low six figure business mostly based on one on one coaching which could be kind of exhausting and time consuming. My biggest challenge at that time was that I felt paralyzed and totally not confident in my ability to make large ticket sales to big groups of people from the stage. I signed up for Thrive and was really convinced I would go far in my business by doing so. It seems that the coaches that make the most money are those who coach other coaches. Sharla and Jesse are amazing people. But the reality is, I am still paying off the debt I acquired from them after several years. I DID get more clients. But I always felt a bit slimy using the techniques. Even though they say it's from a "heart" place (and I believe they believe it) It still feels very manipulative. Don't get me wrong, there are some GREAT things about this program! And I know that there are other programs out there that charge WAY more and are very much a scam. I do not think Thrive is a scam. I DO think it is overpriced and that much of the ideas that infiltrate the coaching world can lead to giving up a lot of personal power and finances. It DOES work for some. But not the majority. There's an idea that if you "Get on the train you'll get where you'e going no matter what. As long as you stay on the train." I have seen people stay on that train for years now and still struggle to get clients. It might work for you. But use caution. My biggest regret was acting on emotion and impulse. They feed on emotions (most good sales people do) "What will happen if things don't change? What will happen if you don't fix this NOW?" The mind automatically goes to the worst case scenario when you're in that heightened state of emotion. And they will certainly take you to a heightened place. There are a lot of brilliant, beautiful people there. I have very mixed feelings about Thrive. If I could give it a 2.5 I would. I feel like it's cut right down the middle. That being said, it is probably one of the better programs out there in the self-help world. If you are going there for a sense of community, to learn how THEY sell (keep in mind it doesn't work for everyone- I had some issues with it from an ethical place) and to have fun then it's a great place! If you are banking on this to be the thing that launches your career to the next level and gets you in the $10,000 a month club I would be very careful. DO NOT MAKE THIS DECISION FROM AN EMOTIONAL PLACE. They will try and get you to do that. It is part of their tactic. Instead, give yourself permission to take as much time as you need to evaluate whether or not it's truly right for you. Good luck! read more
