After 20+ additional emails (between both parties), we were finally able to receive our federal and state abatements from 2024. While this is good news and we are pleased with the outcome, it does not negate the unpleasant experience. After the last review, they took note and designated someone to call the IRS on our behalf, instead of repeatedly sending papers in the mail that the IRS would never receive. After receiving the federal abatement, we then had to ask them to help with the state abatement. In case you aren't aware (since I was initially not educated on this matter), you are allowed a 1-time federal and state abatement. Meaning, if you are in good standing, they will erase your fines, but not the interest. Some additional notes: 1. They are a global team, as their new name implies (Unified Global). This means that your team may be located in various time zones and countries. 2. Their software is straightforward and simple to follow, which I did appreciate. 3. Their timelines for filing, in my opinion, do not include a sufficient buffer if you have additional questions and/or corrections. We were asked several times to remove the last review, and after some thought, I have chosen to amend it. Similar to prior Yelpers, I believe that it they have improved their services, my initial review will just be background noise as the one off.

Looking for an alternative program to migrate to I heard a lot about QuickBooks, but am rather 'old-school' and was trying to avoid putting our business accounting in the cloud and having a direct link from online bookkeeping to our checking account. As I had never used any other accounting program, and have no formal training, switching felt daunting. I found Prosper Bookkeeping on Yelp and reached out to Daniel Lin for a free consultation. He explained that I could use QBO without linking our checking account directly or utilizing AI features if I did not want to. So I decided to work with Daniel -- he patiently went through the steps to set up our books for the beginning of the year and coached me in bringing all entries for the year up to date. It was helpful for me to learn the new program UI through hands on instruction via Zoom, and then later review the videos Daniel provided of our training sessions. Mostly just some ergonomic changes to my work area at the client site. Told my on-site manager who promptly ignored my request for the next month or so, during which time things got even worse and I made a much more direct request for accommodations. The client then very swiftly fired me for making that request and West Valley has gone so far as to lie under oath in an effort to protect their client. They lied about the position I was hired for, they lied about my informing them of my need for accommodations in the workplace, and probably more. The fact that they're so willing to fall on their sword for their client tells me that this is not an isolated incident. They likely are known in the business world for helping shady companies get away with labor regulation violations and if they turn on one client then all the rest will flee and they'll be out of business.

I've even been retaliated against by them. Trying to give me write ups out of no where. Because rightfully requesting my pay that was late. Jessica our on site rep is pointless!
