This review is observation and insight from my spouse who does the bookkeeping for my home based contracting business, so far as I'm concerned if she's happy and the books balance, I'm happy: In January 2026 our older software program suddenly stopped recognizing the turnover to a new year. Kind of like what was feared in Y2K, but really real -- "this date is invalid" it said for the new year entries -- Nightmare Land. Looking for an alternative program to migrate to I heard a lot about QuickBooks, but am rather 'old-school' and was trying to avoid putting our business accounting in the cloud and having a direct link from online bookkeeping to our checking account. As I had never used any other accounting program, and have no formal training, switching felt daunting. I found Prosper Bookkeeping on Yelp and reached out to Daniel Lin for a free consultation. He explained that I could use QBO without linking our checking account directly or utilizing AI features if I did not want to. So I decided to work with Daniel -- he patiently went through the steps to set up our books for the beginning of the year and coached me in bringing all entries for the year up to date. It was helpful for me to learn the new program UI through hands on instruction via Zoom, and then later review the videos Daniel provided of our training sessions. Daniel is a consummate professional - a non-judgmental and patient listener who is extremely knowledgeable and has a knack for quickly parsing through numbers. After using the program for a full quarter, I found that I had made several errors and could not reconcile our bank statements with QBO -- Daniel found the issues for me and fixed them in minutes. Like Magic! I'm very happy that I went with Daniel and Prosper Bookkeeping, FIVE stars! read more

We've been working with Prosper Bookkeeping for our small business and couldn't be happier with the experience. From day one, they took the time to truly understand our operations and financial goals -- not just the numbers, but the bigger picture. The team is responsive, organized, and incredibly thorough. Month-end closes are timely, our books are always clean, and any questions we have are answered promptly and clearly. They've helped us catch discrepancies we would have easily missed and kept us compliant without any stress on our end. What really sets Prosper apart is that they feel like a genuine partner in our business, not just a vendor. If you're a small business owner looking for a bookkeeping team you can actually trust, look no further. read more

Daniel at Prosper Bookkeeping is extremely helpful. Although he wasn't able to help me immediately because of a particular issue related to the bookkeeping software I'm currently using, he still took the time to provide me with tips and information. He's also very prompt in replying to communications. read more

I Initially understood that a bookkeeper was a necessary function for my company, but I didn't grasp just how crucial the role was until I noticed significant errors and omissions from my previous bookkeeper. Despite my limited accounting knowledge, recognizing the issue prompted me to seek a new service. Prosper Bookkeeping immediately stood out, thanks to the positive online reviews. When I contacted them, they were responsive and asked thorough questions before accepting me as a client. Now, after a full quarter of their service, I feel compelled to write this review for others facing the same predicament. First, I can confirm that having an experienced bookkeeper is absolutely vital to business operations. Prosper Bookkeeping has been life-changing for us, as they are capable of identifying, tracking, correcting, and accurately recording our financials. They even managed to find funds that were received via invoices but never hit the bank due to a glitch in QBO. Furthermore, my Profit & Loss statements are now correctly categorized. They found and reported tax implications through ADP, and my overall bottom line finally aligns with my understanding of the business. I could not be more pleased with this company. Five stars aren't enough to adequately reflect their diligence, thorough attention to detail, and the overall impeccable service I have received so far! read more

I don't write reviews very often, but I really wanted to take a moment to share how much ProsperBooks has meant to our organization. I'm the CEO and Owner of CircleUp Education, a small business that's been growing quickly over the past few years. With that growth came a lot of challenges, especially with our books. When we first started working with ProsperBooks in December 2023, our finances were a mess. We had previously worked with a reputable firm, but over time, some questionable practices started to surface. As we grew, those small issues turned into serious red flags. Our books weren't balancing, reports didn't make sense, and even our tax preparer couldn't make sense of our balance sheet. ProsperBooks took on our account knowing it wasn't going to be easy. Daniel and Nicole were patient, thoughtful, and incredibly thorough. They went back through several years of bookkeeping to clean up what others had mishandled. In about a month, they got us fully caught up and organized. Since then, it has been smooth sailing. They reconcile our books monthly, provide reports we can actually understand, and help us track and sync newer complexities like sales from our online store, sales tax, and partner distributions. Their support has also saved us from needing to hire a dedicated employee, which is a major win for a growing business. Now, bookkeeping only takes me about 15 to 20 minutes a month. I just need to answer a few questions or clarify charges, and their team takes care of the rest. Even when unexpected issues come up, ProsperBooks handles them quickly and professionally. They are consistently responsive, and even if someone on their team is out, another team member steps in without missing a beat. That kind of consistency and follow-through is rare and deeply appreciated. This is the fourth bookkeeping solution we've used, including two firms and two in-house staff at different points. Until working with ProsperBooks, we never felt fully confident that everything was being handled properly. Their monthly rate is very reasonable, and the value they bring to our operations is substantial. Fast forward to July 2025 I just opened my second business and they have been so helpful at making sure that both are maintained. If you are a business looking for a reliable, responsive, and thorough bookkeeping partner, I strongly recommend ProsperBooks. I honestly don't know what we'd do without them. Thanks Daniel & Nicole! read more

I reached out to 3 or 4 bookkeepers when I needed some assistance with our nonprofits books. We had a meeting that we were attending and it was crucial that we had our books reformatted and up to date. The timeline was short and out of 4 people I called, 3 being referrals and Daniel who I found on Yelp, Daniel was my one return call. He was quick to respond, answered all questions and was extremely patient. He had the work back to us within a couple of days, and did everything we needed. He also made himself available during the time of our meeting to answer questions if need be. We will continue to work with Daniel and are extremely appreciative of his help and professionalism. We highly recommend Daniel and look forward to working with him moving forward. read more

Daniel is outstanding! Over the past 20 years in business, I've worked with four different bookkeepers, all of whom were good--but Daniel truly stands out. I was searching for a bookkeeping service to help me with a new business. I interviewed local bookkeepers, national bookkeeping providers, and my current accountant. I was impressed with Daniel's reviews on Yelp and QuickBooks. Daniel was one of my top 2 candidates but I ended up hiring an accounting firm with more familiarity with me and my other business. Danial is very - professional - detail oriented - experienced - attentive/responsive - excellent with following-up Cons - Daniel's fees are higher than other bookkeepers I interviewed so I do not think he would be a good fit for someone looking for a low cost provider. Daniel model is to take on fewer clients which allows him to do better quality work and communications. Though, I did not hire Daniel he still made referrals for other business needs I had. I liked his global view on advising businesses. I would refer Daniel to anyone needing more personalized bookkeeping and consider hiring him for my next project. read more

Easiest 5 stars I've ever given. Started a new law firm and realized I needed a year's worth of catch up bookkeeping, plus a reliable service going forward. I reached out to many bookkeepers. Daniel has been nothing but professional, thorough, and clear with his bookkeeping. I don't feel like he's just doing the bare minimum to complete his tasks. I feel like he really wants my business to succeed, and will go the extra mile to make things more organized and efficient. Most importantly, he is very responsive. A few nice bonuses is that he's young (doesn't appear to be retiring any time soon), and generously uses technology, including making his own video tutorials for his clients to follow. He's not the cheapest price point; but in this case, I strongly believe that you get what you pay for. Prosper is well worth its cost. read more
