Having internet cafes, also known as computer shops, is not a uniquely Philippine phenomenon. But it's good to note how predominant they are, maybe because of the Manila person's love for LAN gaming, or because not all households are equipped with (decent) internet access.
Spyfox Internet Café, probably the only internet café in the block, offers more of the internet and none of the café. You'd wonder where their market would come from as Teachers Village is a mostly middle-class area where it's not that difficult to have internet installed at home. You'd be surprised, though.
PROS: It's pretty much a place where you can type, surf, have your stuff scanned, printed, or burned in a CD when you don't have the means to do it at home, school, or work. They sell prepaid load for cellphones too; Their biggest market would be LAN gaming for high school or college students, and even yuppies. Not everyone has gaming PCs or fiber optic internet connections, and this is where people go to blow off some steam with DOTA 2 or LOL; Using their computers for the low price of 20 pesos and hour. It gets lower the longer you use them or how late at night it is.
CONS: If you're not from the gamer crowd, expect that you may find the place a little rowdy and swarming with kids.
TL;DR: For gamers and non-gamers alike, internet cafes like Spy Fox can really come in handy. read more
