Mineski Infinity - Where gamers go to game

There are plenty of computer cafes out there that lets me play games with a high speed internet connection and a good rig. Most of them come off as generic and don't really give off a unique vibe to them, not Minesky Infinity though. The thing that makes Mineski Infinity unique is that it wasn't started by people who looked at it solely from a business oriented perspective. The people who started Minesky Infinity are a group of students who were themselves hardcore gamers. Their internet cafes are basically made by hardcore gamers, for hardcore gamers, of hardcore gamers. Everything is great. Sure you won't be using products from the likes of Razer, but their keyboard and mice are of great quality. They have headphones that do a good job of bringing a level of sound and comfort I wish I'd get more often from other internet cafes. they clean their equipment regularly and replace the ones that are broken. Given just how well some kids treat internet cafe equipment I'd say that's a massive plus for Mineski Infinity. To date, I haven't found a internet cafe franchise that handles its business as well as these guys do. Sure there are probably cafes that are as good, if not better, but none of them have the presence that Mineski has. It is the gold standard of internet cafes so far as I'm concerned.

What separates BreakrOne from the others, though is a really nice and hidden location. It's located behind an alley along P. Guevarra St., behind a building and on its third floor. Find it and be greeted by a cozy and dark room filled with quick computers, stocked with games ranging from the most modern first person shooters to old retro real time strategy games. BreakrOne also has a large outside balcony area for food, drinks and smoking, preventing the computer area from smelling like a kitchen ashtray. There's even a billiard table outside if it tickles your fancy. All in all a great place to play games and unwind (by shooting terrorists in the face).

When I caught up with a few of my friends for lunch, I asked them what was there to do around the area for killing time. They looked at each other, gave an approving nod, and then yelled in unison, "Breaker One!" I was so confused, and they explained to me that Breaker One is one of the internet / LAN / computer gaming cafés that were still running in the Greenhills area. Back in high school, there used to be a plethora of these gaming shops, especially within walking distance near schools, but now they are lost to different businesses. Breaker One can now be considered your five-star computer gaming shop, since their hardware and software systems are up-to-date. They have almost every game and every modification you can imagine. Why still go to this place when online gaming is trending? There's nothing like coordination and trash talking when you're playing right next to your friends.

A lot of video games, including Defense of the Ancients (DoTA and DoTA 2), Counter Strike, Team Fortress 2, League of Legends, and lots of other video games, are also considered e-sports. E-sports are games played competitively, most of the time on an international circuit, just like other sports. Think of Mineski and its various branches as small-time basketball courts of soccer fields: places where you can play hardcore, but for fun. I'm not exactly a hardcore competitive gamer. I'm god-awful at stuff like DoTA 2 and LoL. However, I can talk about how incredible Mineski is as a gaming cafe. Not only are their computers very powerful with a comprehensive set of games and gaming options, but they have fantastic internet speeds with often very little lag during gaming. Mineski is also a lot better in environment: the area is large enough that it doesn't feel like a cramped, suffocating area, but small enough that you feel like you have an engaged gaming experience. Mineski is an exquisite place for hardcore gamers, or people who just want to practice.

But even I who isn't a PC game lover would often frequent this place to have my files printed. There was a time though where I would go to Mineski every week, this was during the time when Left For Dead was still a craze. You would see all the seats taken all the time! The printing service here is good. Prices are not so bad. Even to surf the net, the price isn't bad at all especially if you don't have a readily available laptop to use! Location wise, it's walking distance to campus. It's actually across the campus so it's really easy to get to Mineski. My tip is to not get lost of the time when you're here - most of the time people get too in to the game that they tend to forget about their next class!
