Spyder moving did an excellent job moving my things. They also placed my things right where I needed them. Other moving companies take weeks to move your things, but Spyder moving had my things moved the next day after calling them. They arrived before time and were extremely efficient. Two of the nicest and sweetest men ever. They went above and beyond! I will definitely use them again and highly recommend them. read more

Please avoid this company like the plague. They deserve -10 stars. I would have avoided them had I seen the recent reviews (they appeared after I used their service). The agreed price was $200 (in reality they finished moving my stuff in only one hour, but I had agreed to that price, so good for them). They charged me initially $50 as a deposit, then another $200 even before they showed up to do the work, the nerve! I then paid them in cash and Vlad (the owner) said he would refund the amount back to my card. Yet nothing happened! I got him once on the phone and he said he would take care of that. After that, again nothing happened, and this time they ignore my phone calls and emails. Judging from their reviews on Google, Yelp and Facebook (please check these!), I'm not the only one to fall victim to their criminal practice: they overcharge people, then ignore their phone calls and emails. I'm still luckier than other people since I didn't have any of my properties destroyed. Vlad Ladygin may seem friendly if you use their service but he is downright criminal and fraudulent. read more

This company is absolute garbage. I scheduled them to help me move the heavy items the week before I moved and they email me the night before letting me know that there was a five hour minimum. I specifically asked, when I initially set up the appointment, if there was a hour minimum or a travel fee and they said no. So now I'm stuck with a new house with no furniture because they tried to screw me by telling me how much I had to pay the night before. Unprofessional and absolute hot garbage. They don't deserve to be in business. read more

My experience with Spyder Moving in Oxford was the worst one I've ever had with a business. It was the worst moment I've had in 2022, and one of the worst ones of my entire life. Despite the fact that the contract listed a specific flat rate amount for the move (which is what I was also quoted before deciding to book Spyder), I received an invoice on the day of the move for over $600 more than that amount. The owner demanded that payment and threatened me by stating that his movers would not move my stuff into my home if I didn't pay it. I recently completed graduate school and I was beginning a schoolteacher job shortly after the move so being robbed of that kind of money was a huge burden. I ended up pooling some help together from working class family--which on one hand was a relief in the immediate moment because I just didn't have the money--but on the other hand, it was such a terrible feeling to have to take money from family who simply are not rich people. Not only did that extortion happen, but when I finally got around to unpacking my belongings I had several plates that were broken, in addition to several drinking glasses and wine glasses that were also shattered. The contents in the box were clearly labeled as glassware and I included a label indicating the contents were fragile and needed to be handled with care. I also packed the glassware appropriately and the same as the last time I used a moving company. While it worked out with the other company, they ended up broken when I used Spyder. Additionally, although I clearly labeled the boxes many of them were put in the wrong rooms in my home which made the unpacking process take longer. Finally, I had no super heavy items which made being overcharged feel a lot worse. It's hard for me to understand how someone could run a business like this. It's literally criminal. I wonder if they sleep with a clear conscience despite knowing that they are dead wrong? read more

Update: While preparing documents for my CC company, I discovered that Spyder Moving has had their BBB accreditation revoked for numerous reports of their actions I describe here. As with the other reviewers, avoid Spyder Moving of Oxford, MS, like the plague. When setting up a move, you pay a $75 "deposit," and agree to the two hour minimum. But this $75 isn't really a deposit; it's an extra charge that they decided to keep. Also like the other reviewers, Vlad will promise to make it right, then quit taking your phone calls. I disputed this $75 charge with my CC Company. Spyder sent in a copy of the document where I signed off on the completed work (which I now have) and the times for arrival and completion. Now the charges showed a total of $315, not the $240 for the two-hour minimum -this information was added to the paperwork after the paperwork was back at the office and after I had signed it. THERE IS NO WAY ANYONE WOULD AGREE TO $315 FOR ONE HOUR OF LABOR FROM TWO PEOPLE. A two-hour minimum is certainly expected, but not an extra $75 for Vlad to answer the phone, all the while calling it a "deposit." A deposit is an advance on the services to be provided, not an extra charge. But wait! There's more! I hired a professional moving service because I wanted the work done quickly by people where were good at what they do. What I got was a mechanic friend of Vlad (the owner) who was called at the last minute, and the friend's early-20s son who was hungover from partying all night. Not what you'd expect for $120 per hour and three weeks advance notice. So instead of me not destroying my damaged back, I was still stuck in the middle of the truck loading. I don't blame the guy, he was helping get Vlad out of a jam. I blame Vlad for poorly running his business, then dishonestly keeping my money. This dispute is still ongoing, and I am now responding to Visa about the incorrect information Vlad has submitted. read more

Horrible. Wish I had checked here before scheduling these services. They charged me for serviced I didn't receive. Didn't return phone calls. I've been calling every number I could possibly find under this company. Even the automated call function does nothing but call you to send you to a voicemail. They will take your money and stop answering the phone. read more

DO NOT USE!!!!! During my move in 2019 they showed up 8 hours late, refused to let me cancel my moving appointment with them despite showing up to move my stuff when the sun started to set. It took them roughly 30 minutes to move all my prepackaged boxes from one unit to another in the same complex. They then proceeded to try and charge me $800 for my stuff. Not to mention, when we were trying to cancel using their services, they blocked me and my mom phone number and then a random guy showed up to my house trying to convince me that the movers would be there so soon. To top off the whole story, my apartment they moved my stuff from was broken into by them the night they moved my stuff and very specific things were stolen, only things movers would know where they are. DO NOT USE THEM. read more

I have never had a worse experience with movers. DO NOT USE SPYDER. They told us that our move would only take 2-3 hours. However, it ended up taking over 7 hours (not including the hour that I waited for them to get there). They were EXTREMELY inefficient and unprofessional. They charged us almost $1,000 more than what we had agreed on. In addition, they broke several items, including a valuable glass vase (which they denied and tried to clean up and hide from us), a tv, and several kitchen items. They also damaged multiple dressers and did not take responsibility for anything. Spyder is a total scam and they took advantage of us. Posting this to warn anyone looking for movers... do NOT use Spyder. read more

Worst moving experience of my life. Damaged furniture, charged my CC without authorization, scratched walls and floors, left the job, showed up late. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Check their rating out on BBB if you don't believe me. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. Horrible company. Up-charged me hundreds of dollars, dropped and broke my TV, threw away my nice vase without asking AFTER breaking it, and scratched/dented up every corner of furniture. They also chipped my walls from the furniture carelessly being moved in the house. They were over an hour late and didn't have a big enough truck that they promised they would have. I paid for 2 movers and they charged me for 3. Super disrespectful workers who creepily asked for my roommates social media accounts. Nothing good to say at all. They don't care about the quality of work they provide or their customers read more

For everyone else who seems to have had a similar experience, contact me and consider joining the legal action I will take against Spyder. DO NOT USE SPYDER NO MATTER WHAT. First of all, the owner low-balled his bid. Then, less than 12 hours prior to our move, I finally received a contract (that I requested multiple times to provide to my employer) that let me know that I would pay (at first) about $400 more than I was originally quoted. Then, in the middle of the night of our move, he demanded $1800 more. I told him that I would be able to pay on Friday once my employer's reimbursement posted to my bank. He said, "no problem." Then, the next morning, I stopped hearing from his workers at 8am. When I finally got him on the phone, he basically said I would not receive my family's belonging until he was paid. Our children had no beds, no clothes, no bath towels, no toys. And when I finally got my employer to pay by card, I find out that the driver was THREE HOURS AWAY. The on-site manager (Mike) said the owner told him not to leave until he received payment confirmation. That's funny because the owner told my fiancé and me that he hadn't heard from his driver. So they show up FOUR HOURS later than we agreed. Our children (ages 3, 2, and 7 months) were miserable and had to sleep on the floor for naps. When they did arrive, we confirmed where every single thing was to be placed. We were told by Mike, "no problem." While my fiancé was trying to get the kids down for an afternoon nap, and while I had to run in for a work meeting, they shoved all of our belongings in the living room and garage (we cannot close the garage or exit the front door), THEY LEFT. They left antique furniture in our driveway where the pieces are exposed to weather damage. And because they jammed every entrance way, I will have to pay ANOTHER mover to make this right. They blocked our kitten in a bathroom and we cannot move the heave furniture outside the door. I am not sure how we will get the kitten to safety. When I talked with the owner, he spun more lies and attempted to talk over me. Also, when I was initially charged, I did not consent to the charge and have reported that charge as fraud to my bank. This individual immigrated to MIssissippi from Russia. Funny, move to the poorest state in America and open a moving business. He preys on people who are (mostly) too poor to fight back. But he has picked the wrong family to screw over this time. We will let a judge decide a fair resolution to this matter. We moved all the way to Atlanta with no family, no friends, and no support structure for an opportunity. The owner of Spyder seized on his opportunity to completely screw over a hard-working family. As for you reading this review, STAY AWAY FROM SPYDER. read more

We hired 2 guys and a 26' truck to move us. They showed up an hour late in a 15' truck, brought a girlfriend, and they have an 8 hour minimum fee. They charge you UP FRONT (very expensive) before they even show up AFTER taking a deposit at time of the scheduling. They ended up only being able to move half our belongings because of the tiny truck. We had to hire someone else to move the rest. They showed up at the new house well after we did, not sure where they went on OUR TIME for over an hour!! While unloading at our new home they dropped multiple items off the back of the truck and boxes busted open. They broke a ceiling light in the livingroom and were shocked when we said we wanted to make a claim on it. They guy in charge is horrible about getting back with you! WORST PLACE EVER!! read more

Did a move for me was charged twice didn't get my deposit back now they don't answer calls or return emails

This is regarding Vlad & his crew in Oxford MS...I'd used them 3 yrs ago to carry a large piece of furniture upstairs & was satisfied. I decided to call them again to load our U-haul. Then I began to read the reviews & had second thoughts. I called & discussed my concern & Vlad convinced me to try them again. And I AM GLAD I DID!! He came personally w his two associates and they were EXCELLENT! Worked all three floors professionally & diligently! I would use them a hundred times over! And their mamas should be proud...everyone had excellent manners!! Give them a call I found them easy to work with! read more

Spyder answered the email quickly and called the next day at the time when I asked requested. Charles and Robert were on time, polite, careful and strong! I was downsizing to an apartment and a storage unit and they were attentive to each piece and each location. I will use again in a minute and recommend to anyone. read more

They are dishonest!. I had to cancel because they would not return my calls. They told me they would wave the cancellation fee. I told them I had never heard of a cancellation fee. I called the Better Business Bureau where they have an F rating and was told to immediately cancel my credit card. Too late! They had already charged me $350 in Cancellation fees. The reputable mover who ultimately moved us told me they are crooks and had been under a different name the prior year. They had damaged thousands of dollars of another person's belongings. The court ruled in the customer's favor. The movers went out of business and came back under a different name, Spyder. Do not use them under any circumstance. The Better Business Bureau of Mississippi even informed me they ripped off a church! read more

Please take my advice. Use a different moving company. The hourly rate was very competitive ($170/hr) so I chose this moving company. I made a serious mistake. It took them 8 hours to move a 1 person residence (just myself) 5 minutes down the road. My nightmare started when I noticed a mysterious withdrawal in my checking account a few days after the move. One of the movers had taken my checkbook out of my bedside hutch and fraudulently written a check. I spent endless hours the week following closing bank accounts, moving direct deposits and automatic payments, and getting new debit cards. I entrusted this moving company to enter my home and safely move me, and they sent this criminal to my home that stole money from my checking account. I am still in the process of getting these accounts and payments corrected 3 weeks later. I promise you that other moving companies may be $10-$20 more an hour, but it will be worth it to avoid what I have gone through. Please learn from my mistake and chose someone else. read more

They contacted me very fast, which I did appreciate. But they never told me that there was a minimum time that you are charged. The movers were nice, but young and ended up scratching a lot of my furniture and treating things with less respect that I wanted. I will not use them again. I do not like how they handled their business. read more

Spyder Moving is absolute trash! I scheduled them to come out and pack and move. The night before I called Spyder and specifically told him I needed a lot of wardrobe boxes for clothes and shoes. He said no problem. His crew arrives today with no wardrobe boxes. I have moved numerous times with professional companies and never had this problem. I told them it was unacceptable and didn't want them to pack or move us. I told Spyder he could keep the deposit. He then charged my credit card without my authorization. He had my number from the deposit the week before. He also charged my card twice for a total $7500 for no services and was at my house for a total of 10 minutes. I'm disputing the charges with my credit card company but it will take 15 days to get this taken off my account. Also one of the guys who came was wearing a tether which was a red flag as soon as he got out of the truck. WHATEVER YOU DO, I MEAN WHATEVER, DO NOT USE SPYDER MOVING!! read more

I used Spyder Movers for a move on May 28th. I called them up I told them I needed a 26-footer and I needed two guys. He said it would be 130 an hour and I would be charged on how many hours the movers took if it was 3 hours it would be 3 hours and so on. I said okay he quoted me $950 for the move ask for a $ 150 deposit. I made the deposit no problem later that evening he sent me a contract. Contract said the movie rate at 8 hour minimum that's not what he had said on the phone. Plus $300 for the truck and travel time. So I agreed to it. Right after that he tried charging my card for $1,340 of course it declined because I didn't have that much in there and I was using a different card for payment. And then he goes and charges my card $1,040 and that did not go through then he tried to charge you $650 and that did it go through. I told him I was using a different card to pay my amount. After back-and-forth phone calls I gave him the credit card I wanted to use after he tried every amount he could get to get out of my account. He said the movers will be there at 7:30 with a 26-foot truck. The mover show up an hour late with a 15 foot truck. I called him up right away and explained I needed a 26ft that they would not get all the stuff into that little truck. So they decided to load what they could and still left a quarter of my house not loaded. So I called him up and he said well do what we can do they get up to my new house unload and says if you want them to go back to get the rest of your stuff there going to be a $300 plus charge to get it yourself. And I will give you $200 back. I was tired of dealing with them so I just said I will go get my stuff just send the money back. We both left the house at the same time and the movers showed up about an hour and 20 minutes later after I showed up.. they get most of the truck unloaded they drop things off the truck broken item in my house I just have called today to try to get the problem resolved. The driver said he would tell his boss and put in a report which never was done. They are not very upfront and like I said they take your money out of your account before the job is even done I can understand taking part of it for a deposit and then paying when you are done but just to take it out the moment you hire them it's not good practice. read more
