My spouse and I leased our Arrabelle Apartment almost a year ago, so it seems like we have had…read moreenough time to get a good feel for the place. As a caveat as reviewers, we haven't rented in over 30 years, so we don't have much current experience in the market. 1) The property is brand new and is well maintained. Our apartment is spacious and the light is incredible, considering it is an apartment. 2) The finishes in the apartment are of very high quality: solid doors, Anderson windows, SS appliances, etc. and it is decorated in a very neutral way which accommodates our stuff well. The common areas are attractively decorated, and the lobby decorations change with the seasons - a nice touch. Common areas consist of: party room, deck with grills, fitness center, package room, and parking. No pool here - we are told that it is too small to support that sort of amenity. 3) The property manager is very responsive to any requests or needs and tries to do what she can to accommodate requests. Top notch! The system the company has for work order requests is on-line, and allows you to track progress. 4) The property manager schedules special social events every so often which are a great way to meet those neighbors that want to get to know each other. These are fun if you want to partake, but no pressure if you don't. 5) Location, location, location... I suspect rent is on the high side (again, not much experience in the local market), but the location in Cedarburg is outstanding. A short walk to downtown, coffee shops, grocery store, restaurants, etc. is just the ticket for us. We love that part of it, and Cedarburg is an outstanding community for us. Now if we could just lick this pandemic so that we could start to get out there and enjoy it again...

I have had a very concerning experience since moving into Arrabelle Apartments…read more Since move-in, I have reported ongoing plumbing issues, including hot water coming out of the cold side of faucets throughout the unit. Maintenance visited multiple times and confirmed the system was not operating properly, but the issue was not corrected. In May of this year, I was scalded while using the shower and have since required medical treatment, including multiple doctor visits and a referral to a wound specialist. Despite the seriousness of the issue, I have continued to experience poor communication and a lack of urgency from management. I have also had concerns about access to my apartment and have had to repeatedly request that all non-emergency access be coordinated in writing. I would strongly encourage anyone considering this property to document all maintenance concerns in writing, keep copies of every request, and follow up consistently. Based on my experience, serious safety and maintenance issues have not been handled with the level of care, urgency, or communication that I would expect from a professionally managed apartment community.

They were always very tactful. They never gossiped any of our neighbors or anything like that. Holly and Don are the consummate professionals. Woodmere Townhomes is an older complex, so yes, there are a lot of maintenance challenges. Their maintenance personnel are especially responsive and very pleasant to work with. When the handle to our sliding glass patio doors broke off, the response was prompt. When our pipes froze (only for a day and a half) in 2018, the response was also immediate. It was a cold snap and a few apartments had frozen pipes for our washer and drier. Maintenance wasn't able to unfreeze the pipes, but they tried. A day later, water was moving again and we could do our laundry. Management and maintenance people followed up to ensure that everything was okay. What more could a person expect? The design of the individual apartments is very nice: our apartment looks much larger than it really is. The entry overlooks the living room: I thought it was pretty. We had sliding glass doors to a small porch. We had about 27 different species of birds and a herd of 9 deer that visited regularly. There are amenities I would like (such as walk-in closets, etc.), but you can't beat Woodmere Townhomes for value. My husband and I always felt safe in and around our apartment. The apartment complex tends to be quiet. People work during the day, come home, grab their mail, and go into their apartments. Very rarely do we have any interactions with our neighbors. With the dreadful coronavirus keeping more people home, the parking lot has become a social gathering place! It's pretty fun seeing our neighbors outside sitting in the lawn chairs and soaking up the sun. Yes, you could find comparable apartments for less, but not in Cedarburg. You could find apartment complexes with more amenities, but then they would cost more. Woodmere Townhomes is pretty sweet for the price.

Woodmere has a park-like setting. It's a little like country in the city. You might even see a deer outside your Woodmere window.

As a long-term resident, I have been a participant in the history of Deer Run Apartments since…read more2005. I was always proud of my home here and enjoyed and appreciated all the amenities and other benefits this community offered. Not anymore! The deterioration in services and amenities under Greystar management has accelerated over the last 2 years, along with the increase in rent and other fees. For the past year, all tenants have been required to pay a monthly fee for water and trash pickup, in addition to the regular gas and electric utilities. My rent has increased by 18.3% over the last 2 years, exceeding the total increase over all my previous years of residency. The absentee landlord down in Illinois may argue that he has invested millions in renovations of the pool and fitness center. That's money down the drain if you don't properly maintain the facilities. The pool? Don't let anyone kid you! It's been out of commission since the end of June and has turned into an algae-infested swamp. The root cause of the problem has been known to management for some time, but no one has taken any action. It will almost certainly remain unusable for the rest of the season. I would not get my hopes up for next year either. So scratch that as an amenity! Also, the gate is always open and anyone could wander in, fall in and drown. So much for enforcing security! Broken equipment in the fitness center is neither repaired nor replaced. I have given up on trying to get that corrected. And then, there is the unreliable trash and recycling pickup service. The schedule that everyone is supposed to follow in placing their containers at the end of the driveways for pickup is not being followed by the waste management service. The pickup days come and go and no one shows up. Many tenants, myself included, have resorted to just leaving the containers out until someone comes by to empty them, however many days it takes. I will not put a container full of garbage back into my garage. Nowadays, when you drive through the complex, you are greeted by the sight of all these garbage bins everywhere, some of them tipped over with the contents spilling out. You might think that I'm describing a scene in Harlem, but no, this is in the "fashionable" neighborhood of Brown Deer. The overall trend here for residents has been a dramatic decrease in value for the money spent on rent and fees. Call it what it is: a colossal ripoff. Don't believe the rental prices that are posted online. My 1 bedroom is supposed to be in the range of $1,072 to 1,116. I was just quoted $1,353 for my next lease period. Apparently, the longer you live here, the more they will jack up the price. You will be penalized for being a long-term resident! Call me a sucker, but I decided to give this place a chance for another year. Are my hopes misplaced? Probably, considering what I've seen so far. Also, having had so many good years here in the past, I can't seem to give up on the idea that sooner or later, things have to improve. I'm not holding my breath, though!
