We set a start date of early January 2023 and John began his work. We found John and his colleague to be extremely professional, prompt and thoughtful in their work. What's more - John asked questions and verified details with us as he went. There was no assuming what we might want, and he offered helpful ideas and recommendations. Working in a fairly tight space, John and his colleague were respectful of the fact that I work from home and, although construction noise is unavoidable when tearing down walls and what have you, they were not intrusive or blasting loud music as they worked. I sincerely appreciated their professional manner and dress because my mother lives with us and I am keenly aware of how strangers in the house might make her feel uncomfortable. They were so polite and respectful of her and my family. That cannot be said of all contractors. Now, the work quality: I'd rate it excellent or better. John took great care to ensure the quality of the work and materials would meet or exceed our expectations. He even found a better solution for some cabinets for us that matched the style we wanted without impacting the budget. The drywall work was excellent. He managed to match and/or mirror some intricate moldings to exactly what we hoped for. John also stayed late once or twice because he wanted to make sure the quality of the work was also up to his high standards. Prior to hiring John, we had another company work on a basement renovation. The comparison was like night and day. The company handling the basement took too long, cost too much and the quality of both the work and the workers was not good. We just passed the 5 year mark on owning this home. 5 years…read moreago we hired Tri County Inspection. Charlie found a few small things that the sellers (flippers) needed to fix. Here's what he didn't discover, the roof was repaired with the wrong shingles and we had major water damage from the roof down to the basement. He also missed the (active) termite damage from a colony our exterminator estimated was about 10 years old. A waste stack with a three foot crack. A water heater that was vented between the disintegrating chimney liner and the mortar (we were red-tagged) A chimney that leaked into the attic ceiling and had to have extensive repairs. These are the standouts. There's more that was missed by Tri County. Starting with year one we have put (conservatively) $35000 into a house we would not have purchased if Tri County had given us the information for which we paid. Tri County hounded us for months to post a review, well, here it is.
