They delivered this wonderful arrangement right to my classroom. My husband ordered the flowers by phone in the morning and they were delivered by afternoon. 1/5 stars, avoid this business. In short, communication is poor, their internal systems need work, and they have no motivation to refund for missed deliveries. Long story: 1) Placed an order online to make sure my payment made it through before the 10am cutoff. It was a local delivery. 2) By 8PM, there were no deliveries made to my preferred business address. No notifications. 3) By 9:01PM, I received a text message that there was an emergency with their designer and if there was a different address they could deliver to. By then it was too late, we were out of town. 4) I requested for a refund and it took about 3 calls and a few text messages. 3 weeks later they stated that I had declined the delivery on the day of my wife's birthday! I had to show them text message proof that they failed to deliver by 9PM and that there was no cancellation on my my behalf. Note that there was not a single apology until after I showed them text message proof that they screwed up. 5) We're about a month out now and there's still no refund. read more

This was the worst decision I made for my wedding. I ordered 2 bouquets, something simple, and it was the most anxiety producing experience of the entire wedding planning. WHY? The employees were rude, uncaring, never e-mailed or called me and cancelled my order two days before my wedding. They had told me that I needed to pay by Thursday. So, I went in to pay for the order on Thursday morning, and my order was cancelled. By Thursday to them means Wednesday. One of the employees called me and screamed at me, then called me back to apologize because he had just quit smoking and he's irritable.... Absolutely the worst. I ordered a very cool an unique submerged yellow rose in a mason jar filled with water and a succulent. My girl who had already received a lot of flowers from family and friends, was thrilled and thought this was one of the coolest flowers she ever seen! The customer service and communication was on point. I originally typed in the wrong address and color flower in my order, they were able to change it to the correct address and even went and got the flower color I wanted. Then to make sure it still go there on time they delivered it late in the night around 9pm so it still got there the same day. Spruce is wonderful. Sometimes it's so easy to go the dirty FTD-arrangement route while you're sitting at work realizing you procrastinated yet another special occasion flower order. You really try to find a local florist but end up clicking on some butt-ugly mix of carnations and weeds in a Winnie-The-Pooh vase from Hell's backyard just because it's easier than walking into a brick-and-mortar store and admitting that you didn't budget your time very well. I was a little nervous to go into Spruce at 6PM the day before Valentine's Day because, besides having waited until the last second, the place is super cute and I was sweaty. I was prepared for shame and stink-eye and paying $20 too much for something that would croak in less than two days. None of these things happened. The space is beautiful. Two or three people took turns helping me right away. The place was busy and they were all incredibly nice. They didn't rush me, they took time with me, helped me pick out something that was affordable and tasteful. The best part? It's been four months and we STILL have the arrangement on our kitchen table! It was an adorable half-dozen roses arranged in moss and tucked into a small wooden farm box. It dried so beautifully that I still love looking at it every day. I think it's safe to say that this is by far the best experience I've ever had with a florist, and it's right there in the neighborhood! It's easy to drive right by, what with the McDonalds and the Valvoline screaming at your eyes on either side, but don't miss it. This place wins. read more

I had a great experience at Spruce. Really liked the selection of flowers, and the options that they had of already designed arrangements and potted plants. Though it seemed a little expensive at first, it didn't end up being too bad for a bouquet of roses that I purchased. The bouquet that was created for me was definitely worth what I paid. The flowers are super fresh, and the customer service was above and beyond. I believe the gentleman's name was Laris who helped me. Laris was top notch - very helpful & patient as I was trying to make up my mind on what to get. And he put together a gorgeous bouquet that my friend loved! I've been seeing Spruce pop up on my Instagram feed (and have driven by it so many times) for months now, so it was finally time to go in for a visit. Really friendly flower shop that is actually open pretty late! I stopped by here to grab a small birthday bouquet for a friend on the way home from CHLA. I told the girl my budget and she worked with it and whipped up a beautiful bouquet quickly. They not only sell fresh flowers but also sell succulents, cacti and some plants. I really like Spruce and my fiance orders flowers from them all the time. Very creative and lovely designs. I am *slightly* miffed that I recently ordered flowers for him (my first time--every man deserved flowers in office at least once!) and I was charged a $20 rush fee. I went back to their website and yes, it does say that orders placed after 10 am will have a rush fee so, of course, I will pay it but I wish she had told me on the phone. When you are ordering flowers sometimes you are all wrapped up in the moment. I might have gone with a slightly cheaper option if I knew about the extra charge. What a great experience. I used Yelp to find Spruce. I've driven by it a couple of times and was always curious. I called and asked for something unique as a gift for my Mother. I spoke directly with Lars. He was great at answering my questions and working out a style that fit my needs. I decided to get a submerged flower in one of the smaller jars. Usually they do this with a rose for the price range I was interested but Lars was happy to offer me some other options. I decided to go with a submerged spider plant. Lars was quick to put it together and Ellen took care of the transaction. It was easy and carefree. They were both fun to talk to and made me feel welcomed and at ease. The flowers came out amazingly and the presentation is stunning.. I'm giving 4 stars due to the fact that whoever wrote the card with the quote I requested looked like they never wrote on a card before. I expect much higher attention to detail when paying over a $100 for a set of roses. I'm not asking for fancy calligraphy or anything like that but something that is presentable and looks appealing to the eye. Highly recommend this place! Great selection, customer service, location and plenty of parking. I had a slight problem with a boutineer that I bought a few weeks ago that had difficulty making it through the night. I went in today and told the manager about it and she compensated me with flowers that were well above the cost of the single flower that I had bought. That is great customer server and that is why I will be back there again... and again. Parking is right behind/on the side of the building on Fountain 10 steps from the entrance. I stopped by Spruce to pick up flowers for my girlfriend, for our anniversary. I told the florist I want a bouquet for $90. I stepped outside to make a phone call, and when I got back in the bouquet was ready. I was very disappointed because I expected it to be a larger bouquet (this only had 10 roses). As if that wasn't enough, she charged me $120 for it. Way over priced, not worth it at all. I feel REALLY RIPPED OFF. If it wasn't the only flower shop open I wouldn't have stopped there. Spruce is a beautiful addition to Silverlake. What a difference a little paint can make. I have seen the transition of the store last year driving by and peeking in once in awhile to talk with owner. She is very talented and nice to talk to. This a beautiful shop. So unique and different to every other shop I have been to. Light and airy with a great selection of flowers. I love how they have great music playing. There is a lot of great plant and orchid to choose from. Some orchids I have never seen anywhere else. While you could go get them elsewhere, they are planted beautifully and will probably last much longer than the ones you buy at Trader Joe or the market. I finally came in to buy a small bouquet. Michael and Lars were very attentive even though I wasn't quite sure what I wanted. I walked out with a beautiful selection of flowers that I could put into one of my handmade vases. This was a gift for someone near and dear to my heart and she loved the color combo and flowers that they suggested. I wanted flowers for a special occasion and ordered from Spruce because it was recommended by online reviewers. I had a truly terrible experience. I ordered one arrangement for myself, which I told them should be interesting and out of the box, and one arrangement for my mother-in-law, which I told them should be more traditional. I spent $75 on each arrangement (way more than I would typically spend) and they both looked completely uninspired. Not only were they both boring and could have come from any neighborhood flower shop, they were also both tiny arrangements. My sister-in-law ordered from Beverly Blossoms and her arrangement was next to mine, but looked like it was 4x the price. I asked her how much she spent and hers was $75 too. Mine looked like a $30 arrangement. The worst part of the whole experience is that the flowers are already dead and they only arrived four days ago. I even called Spruce to tell them how upset I was and all they could say was "sorry." Still so upset. read more

I was really excited to see this place opened and "spruced" up like it was. It looks so nice on the corner. I called about a corsage but was not explicit about wanting a "wristlet". In my defenses I was not asked either (I'm no expert). The florist was quick and there was no doubt about her experience. I was just kind of bummed that there was no real interaction. The entire time she stood preparing the corsage she spoke to two others and ignored me. When I said it was for a wrist she panicked and said she didn't have the things she needed in stock to make it happen. I told her a piece of ribbon would suffice. I left feeling slightly ripped off. 13 dollars for a carnation and some florist tape. My trip could have been different with some customer service. read more

Huge fail from spruce. I ordered flowers to be delivered to my wife's work for our anniversary. They hadn't arrived by noon which worried me and the employee at the store assured me they had been picked up and wouldn't be more than an hour. At 4:30 still nothing do i called and was first told they had been delivered. While I was searching I got another call telling me the delivery company was running behind and would be there shortly. By the time they finally showed up it was after business hours so no flowers for her anniversary. I was told a manager would be calling me and so far (1 month) no one has attempted to contact me. I absolutely love this place! It is so minimal and considered. I've always loved the Spruce in NY and so excited they have one in LA. My boyfriend exclusively gets me flowers here and the bouquets are so beautiful and most importantly, they last a really long time. They are open late so grabbing some flowers on the way to a birthday dinner or party is super convenient. I am thrilled that a shop like Spruce exists right around the corner in Los Feliz. I've been there a number of times since they opened to pick up flowers for our home. There is always a varied selection and we're huge fans of their style. The customer service has always been fantastic, a perfect example of this being when I approached them a week before my rehearsal dinner looking for floral arrangements. I am a full blown procrastinator and Michael handled the situation like a champ. He gave us a walk thru of all of our options for arrangements and price points and I never felt pressured to go beyond what I had set as my budget. The evening of the dinner they arrived with the arrangements exactly when we had scheduled, helped to set everything up, and we were thrilled with the look of everything.
