I was really hesitant on where to place my young son but Sproutstart has been the absolute best school. He's 2 years old and Ms Bessy is a wonderful teacher. The kids do educational activities and have crafts that come home almost every day. They keep the kids busy and minds engaged. My son has loved being in Ms Bessy's classroom and talks about her and his classmates when away from school. He's excited every morning to attend and I love that the teachers use gentle words and redirection for discipline. This is the best place. Note! The school is not affiliated with the church they're in. They just rent the space. They do a Christian based curriculum and tell them about God. My son came home singing cute Sunday school songs. They have a great relationship with the kids, and encourage them to love one another and treat each person with kindness and respect. We truly are so blessed to have found SproutStart and would recommend them to any family or friend. I'm a single mom and I cannot say how important it was for me to find a safe haven for him while I worked. This was it for us and I hope you will give them a shot. I really recommend this daycare!!! My son started going to sproutstart when he was 2 and half. He was shy and did not understand english at that time. Ms Bessy was the lead teacher of his classroom. She is so patient. And she even downloaded a translation APP to communicate with my son! Meanwhile, I love this place because it is small and clean like a family! read more

We are extremely disappointed with this facility and found then untrustworthy. They appeared to be friendly and professional at the tour and interview but they kept failing to meet the commitment to provide basic care for the children. 1. They do not actively feed the baby. It appears they make one attempt at the feeding time if the baby is fuzzy, they stop to try. We found our child constantly going back home with most of lunch and snacks leftover. 2. The facility lacks of basic equipment for kids to develop motor skids 3. The first week our baby went to this facility, she came back home with two bruise on her head. One being unexplained. And also got hands feed mouth diseases with visible blisters but the school claimed they didn't see anything. 4. The onboarding process is awful. There's no communication prior to strat date about which class to start, what do we need to bring or even how to access the building. We made several attempts prior to the start date but could not get anyone's attention 5. They insist the child needs to stay at home for 3 days once sent home for ANY health conditions and will NOT take dr.'s note for them to return. read more

Definitely a top tier daycare. We were lucky enough that they had an immediate opening for our son. They will be the first daycare we look to when we need child care in the future. Time for Tots is both a full-time daycare and a drop-in/mother's day out. There are a handful of other drop-ins in Houston, but usually if they are also a full-time daycare they have little to no slots open for drop-in, or the child has to be 18 months or potty trained. With Time for Tots, you can start as little as six weeks old I believe and with reservations they have always had a slot to watch my son for a few hours. They opened in August and my son, then about 15-months-old, started going there soon after. I drop him off on average about an afternoon a week, and it has been a great experience. There hasn't been any turnover and even though he's not there every day, all the teachers know him and his favorite things to do. I feel really good about his care there between the teachers and Desiree, who despite being at the front desk seems to have eyes in the back of her head and always knows what is going on back in the classrooms. The center itself is nice and clean, and they have a great set up so that the early walkers still have some freedom, but aren't thrown in with the bigger kids. They offer organic snacks twice a day, and you can order food in from catering, or send food in with your child. For a drop-in daycare option, I would highly recommend Time for Tots, and I'm sure they are worth a look for full-time as well, since full-time spots can be really competitive the closer into the city you get. My son has been happy here and I am so thankful to have found them. read more

Words can not describe how we feel about Spoutstart. We have enjoyed our entire experience and are thankful for all our daughter has learned and the friendships she has made. The teachers and staff really do care about the children at Sproutstart and that is visibly evident. Your activities, curriculum, and behavior modeling techniques are amazing. The entire Curtis Family cannot be more thrilled with having the princess of our family Paulina Curtis be a graduate of Sproutstart Academy. Day in and day out they have provided a service that is way above and beyond anything we have ever seen with any of our other children. Not only is it amazingly well run by its founder Desiree Worrell the staff are consistently above measure. On a daily basis, Paulina would talk about all that she had learned, all of her friends and the love she received from all of her teachers. I can say without a doubt that Sproutstart Academy gave Paulina the extra that will make the rest of her years successful. My son attends SproutStart and has been going here for almost two years. I cannot express in words how wonderful the teachers are - no matter what I say, it will not do them enough justice. My son learns and retains knowledge leaps and bounds beyond his age because of the teaching methods used. I refer all moms and dads to SproutStart. They also have water activities for the kiddos in the summer and a dance teacher that comes once a week. The atmosphere is so friendly and I feel like the teachers are a part of my own family. My son attended this academy for a few months and our experience was poor overall. I will point out the positive aspects of my family's experience first. The facility itself is clean. In fact the cleanliness and small class sizes is what we initially liked about the school. That said, the lack of staff control in the morning is alarming, the inability for staff to follow the simple instructions pertaining to feeding time, and the fact that I found chewed up chewing gum in my son's car seat(i'm allergic so my wife nor I have gum in our home) upon picking him up from school was the final straw for our family. Regarding the lack of staff control in the morning. On several instances when my wife dropped our infant son off in the morning prior to work, the student to instructor( not enough teachers were there yet in either instance) was high and she struggled with controlling the students. In one instance another parent had to stop a child(not hers) from running out the door. When we informed the owner, her response was "thank god that parent was there". Oh and there was an attempt by the director via letter sent home to acknowledge the chaos in the morning and that the school would work to remedy it going further. After addressing several times the miscommunication with feeding times in the infant classroom, the staff did create a daily checklist for parents to complete and staff to keep a copy of. We were excited because it initially appeared as if our concerns would be addressed with a tracking tool, even though it required us writing out daily specific instructions. So you can imagine our frustration when my wife had to repeatedly inform the staff that they weren't following the instructions. (e.g. We provided a plastic bib for feeding times, yet repeatedly the bib wasn't used-we were told that they would work to improve this). But of all things, the final straw for us was the chewing gum I found in my infant's car seat when picking my son up for the day. Being that I'm allergic to gum, I initially was mortified upon realizing that fully chewed chewing gum was in my son's car seat. I immediately notified his teacher, who informed me that though she was chewing gum, she didn't drop any chewed gum in his car seat. I found that odd because I was merely making her aware of what I discovered, and relieved that my son, who I was holding at the time, wasn't yet placed in the car seat to find the gum and put it in his mouth. After gathering my child and leaving, I sent an email to the owner, well at least the owner, who I later found is "one of many owners". This owner promptly called me and apologized and asked what solution did I have in mind and assured me that it was an accident and had to have belonged to a parent who also placed their child's car seat in the same area, or a child accompanying a parent, or I'm sure you get the never ending drift. She assured me it couldn't have been one of her staff because due to the rules of the church who's space they rent, no staff is allowed to chew gum. I listened and then informed her of the comment my child's instructor made pertaining to chewing gum and it wasn't her, to which the owner mumbled and then reverted to explaining how it wasn't intentional. Intentional or not, this "school", which also never teaches the spanish or sign language, or other programs they list when you sign up lacks on control and accountability. You'll get a lot of follow up via email, and pseudo professionalism about "how they're there to help you". But there won't be any consistency, follow up or accountability. Stay far away... read more

If you care about your child you will never leave him/her at this facility.The "so called" director is "never" there. They do not provide food or anything extra for the children. No field trips, no extracurricular activities. Children have bruises and scars with no explanation, and parents are played against each other to divert the attention off of the daycare. Snotty noses on almost every child while the teacher sits there and has no clue of what a tissue is. It seems there is a new owner from a year ago and things have gone down hill. The staff are not educated on child development or care, it seems to be literally baby sitters. The director that is never there may have a degree but the teachers are uneducated with not even an Associates in ECE, or Child Development. Please run not walk away from this place!!!!! read more

I visited this, establishment on a whim. I was looking for a place that was safe, clean, non crowded and enjoyable for my kids. Like any other parent, sometimes you need a place to drop your children off and run errands, date night etc. I was highly impressed when I walked into this place. The very first thing that I noted is that they care about the security of the children. In other words no one is able to walk in without staff letting them in. Second of all the place didn't smell like a diaper hamper. Third the other kids that I saw there seemed happy and were being treated well by the staff. There are young ladies watching the kids, they seemed about 18 to 19 years old at the most,but they were professional and friendly. I am glad I found a place that is reliable and that I can leave my kids without worrying about their safety. My little ones enjoyed the time there. I will definitely be a return customer. read more

I had high hopes for this daycare but they fell short. To start the staff are friendly and the facility overall is clean and well kept. The biggest con is that the staff overall don't communicate internally very well at all. This miscommunication results in schedules and instructions not being followed often times. When issues are brought to the forefront the owners seem defensive. As someone mentioned in their review regarding administration diverting attention from the daycare is totally spot on. I've visited close to a dozen facilities in the surrounding area. As far as childcare goes I would consider this a "daycare" (keep in mind I only have experience with the infant childcare) as opposed to an early childcare development facility. There's no development or tracking of milestones or individualized developmental care that you receive at other facilities at similar price points. read more

I visited the Wirt location in May 2015. The facility was nice, clean, and the staff seemed professional. I added my son to the wait list and was told by the director that while she could not confirm a spot in October, she would follow-up in September with more details. I called at the end of July to confirm we were still on the list. I left a message with a staff member and no one ever called back (not necessarily a big deal, but it definitely became a theme). I had to follow-up the next week and the director was still not available but did eventually call me back the next day. She confirmed my son was on the list and all seemed great. She said I would get an email in September to discuss details and start dates. My son was born 2 weeks early, so I checked in again toward the end of August to let them know I would need an earlier start date. I was assured by the director that I would be contacted, which never happened. It is now over a month beyond when the director said she would contact me and a week beyond when I said I would need child care. Fortunately, I signed my child up for another program. read more
