Their website says that the "gallery shop is an art exhibit all its own", and I agree 100%. There's a little bit of everything here - stickers, jewelry, ceramics, glassworks, bath and beauty products, illustrations, photography, paintings, woodwork...that's all here, laid out in a way that makes it easy for you to browse through the art medium(s) you wish to explore. With hundreds of artists being displayed here, it's super easy to browse and see what local makers are up to. Previously Artsmiths operated out of Mt. Lebanon, so if the name sounds familiar, it's because they were in another neighborhood for over a decade. A big reason they moved to Carnegie was that they were growing to a point that they wanted a better space to host their classes. Yes, the Artsmiths of Pittsburgh is more than a storefront - they're also an art center. Their classes will introduce you to mosaics, embroidery, and more. (If that sounds interesting to you, their website is the best place to keep up with their in-person classes, workshops, and camps.) With the holidays rolling up on us yet again, this is a business you'll absolutely want to visit; you're practically guaranteed to find the perfect gift for someone/multiple someones. I may be biased because I love pinball, but this exhibit is really cool (see photos), and you also get to play a real pinball machine ('Game of Thrones') which is set to freeplay, and is part of the exhibit. The artworks incorporate old, recycled, parts and pieces from pinball machines. I thought it was fascinating. And like I said, his place is really awesome for gifts, artworks, and all kinds of nic-nacs, books, stationary, and other fun stuff, most, if not all of it, made locally in the Pittsburgh area, and a lot of it, featuring a Pittsburgh theme. We had our Mom's Celebration of Life luncheon here and it could not have been better. OMG people are still talking about the food weeks later and if you have an event do yourself a favor and upgrade to the beef brisket I think it was and don't forget the roasted potatoes- heaven. Also the complimets we heard is about the staff and we agree. The staff was not only quick and efficient, you had no idea that they were there. "how was my water glass never empty" was a comment we heard often. The space is also just beautiful and helped make our difficult day that much easier and memorable. Oh and out front of the building they had, on their sign, a message saying "Celebrating the life of (mom's name)". Nice touch.

The owners, Lenny and Dean and Amy, the Manager, were fantastic to work with and made the event everything we dreamed of. We felt very welcome throughout the planning. Cefalo's is a beautiful place to hold a wedding ceremony then dine on fantastic food cooked up by Dean and served by his staff in their dining room. After dinner, you can spend the rest of the evening partying the ballroom. They offer all the services, (or can recommend) you need when planning a wedding. For us and our guests, it was super convenient and easier to have everything for the wedding in one beautiful setting. The food, the hor's d'oeuvres, and entrees was amazing. There's also a huge bar attended by professional bartenders. The food servers were friendly, professional and very attentive. We received so many compliments from our guests on both the food and service. Many said that was the best food they ever had at a wedding! Thanks to him, we found out about a really great hidden gem, and I now want everyone to know how cool this place is. This gallery / studio is located in a private home, yet the owners open it up to the public for art shows and special exhibits. They also have an on-site store. It's actually irresponsible of me not to have done so sooner. This is a cool little gallery with lots of vibe. Every now and again they have exhibits with showing open to the public that are a lot of fun. Viewing art, sipping wine and meeting fellow artists, designers and art admirers is always best when in a welcoming environment. Even when they aren't having open exhibits you're able to pop in and have a look around and make purchases. Always something unique and eye-catching here. They've done it right.
