Found this place by accident. Dropped in and was pleasantly surprised by the venue, food and staff. In fact I enjoyed it so much I came here twice in one day. I wanted something simple so I chose the moroccan pie thinking it sounded good.. ...but it was awesome. Great flavours operating together with tender beef to keep a man happy. The salad needed a little something to make it special but loved the meal. Coffee was good, just ask for it to be extra hot. The decor is quirky and industrial with some leather couch classics. Easy to drop in for a quick classy lunch regardless of being a tradey or businessman. It has been open for about 10 months I think. The mother company does catering. I'd hire them after the taste of their cafe food. Yum The young lady on staff was lovely, laid back and offered the right amount of service and information. Good choice. Attended Mother's Day high tea @ Tocal Homestead by Sprout Catering. The venue is spacious and inviting. The food was great but the whole experience was seriously let down by the service. We waited over 25 minutes for a drink order to be taken and that was only after we asked a passing waitress if we could order. Drinks didn't come until our food was almost finished and the strawberry iced tea with white rum was generous on the rum but sadly lacking any real flavour. At $18/drink - we asked for a long spoon to muddle our fruit and mint in the glass and then asked for ice because there wasn't any served in the glass. It was barely drinkable. Before we'd finished our drinks and food, without being offered an opportunity to order more drinks or even tea and coffee - we were asked to settle up the drinks bill (food was pre-paid) and also asked if we wanted a container for the left over food. I wasn't going to be rushed out after barely 1 hour so told the waitress that we'd be finishing our food, thank you. We left not long after, only to be chased out the door by a waitress asking us to "settle up" for our drinks! She was polite about asking the question at least but couldn't have cared less when we told her we'd already paid and that we weren't happy about the slow service and poor organisation.
