There were two bakery vendors, too, and they usually make doughnuts, in addition to their breads, but when I visited they didn't have any. There was also a soothing oils vendor--Thyme after Thyme--with scents to help heal and strengthen the body and spirit. This market is very centered on just produce, with some other types of goods to purchase, so unless you live in the area and want produce or fruit you may not find a lot. It's fun, however, to walk around and see the different vendors and what they offer. Each vendor was very nice and welcoming, and took time with me when I stopped by his or her tent. I purchased a soothing lavender scented oil from Thyme after Thyme, and a sizable jar of wildflower honey from a local farm. I tucked each into my "Rooted in Falmouth" tote bag, and perused the other vendors, taking in the smells and sights. Falmouth Farmers Market runs every Thursday from noon to 6pm throughout the summer, from late May to early October. It's definitely something to check out if you're looking for fresh produce and doughnuts if the vendors have them. Also be sure to check out the Falmouth Art Market up the street at the community center, which runs on the same day and time as this farmers market; it has a number of local vendors who sell jewelry, pottery, art prints, paintings, and more!! It's a fantastic two-stop market visit!! If only the two would join together in the Marine Park--that would be perfect!!

Thus expect the farmers market to be at a special caliber. But APPROACHABLE. ITS GORGEOUS! ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS! I'm not going into all the vendors because I'll be here all morning, and I'm hungry. But I will tell you that the berries, tomatoes, quiche ($75 for 2, so bring your kids tuition with you), the baked goods... just superb. Beautiful flowers. And the Osterville Historical Museum is open to the shoppers. BONUS! I went nuts grabbing everything I could until a ping on my phone said "honey, I think the card company needs to raise our spending limit" AND I was grabbing so many sweets, I felt a small guilt attack... Well, I got over that quickly... Everything is just beautiful, quality crafted, lots of love put into the produce and products. I was a bit unkind to the poor granola ladies who were so proud that their product is "glutten free, no sugar, etc." (it was ok, bland as all get out, but if you live in the hoity world of elite botox, Vineyard Vines, everyone wants to live to 100 looking 25... you'll understand the push)... I'm like "I'm sorry ladies but I like sugar, fat, alcohol, etc..." as I sampled the dry and bland cranberry granola (bless their hearts). I should have kept my trap shut. They're like "You're so lucky to not care and be able to enjoy those things" (back handed compliment, but I deserved it). Listen people, we are ALL going to die anyway and I doubt I will live to 100... to each their own. I just need to wear my chakras well and not be so rude. They were beautifully thin, tanned and healthy and proud of their product (it's good, just not for me). Throwbacks are parking and ANGRY people. Jeeze. Shoppers and some of the vendors are just ANGRY, and politely rude. But that can happen when "white rich" congregate (NOT ALL PEOPLE, but a big chunk of them - you don't see this in Newburyport or other lower key farmers markets). Overall, it's beautiful, full of delicious and wonderful things, and some people from out our way were having a joyful time. Friday 9-2, Jun 4-Oct 1. You're welcome. Because if you can ignore the angry birds, you are in for a treat! ITS BEAUTIFUL!

The produce here is excellent, best-of-breed for fresh and local on the Cape as far as we've experienced, and I do think we've tried every stand that there is or has been over the last fifty years (we remember when there were cows on farms on 6A). The only knock we have on CCO Farm is the usual issue for organic produce: it's pretty expensive. The CSA box was less so but we ended up having more wastage per pound of produce, and the season is just very short up here, to be sure. There's a big plus though that where the stand is is literally adjacent to the food they're growing for you, and the ownership seems very responsible. Bonus Christmas Tree info: they sell balsams / firs for $40 flat rate, mostly taller trees, in good shape and fresh enough, with some wreaths, but on two visits to attempt to buy one this year, we waited around for 15 minutes and nobody showed up to help us or take our money, so we took a pass and went down the road to Cape-Abilities. FWIW.

Leading to the fact that they have an excellent selection of pork products. Fantastic breakfast sausage, great kielbasa and Italian sausage. The staff is friendly and helpful. As others have mentioned, it is a bit pricey. But, you know where the food is coming from and it is organic. Worth it to me. Buy fresh buy local.

If you take an early boat over, we usually grab the 9:05 from Hyannis and that gives us plenty of time to walk through. Watch your step and footing. Crafts, art, food stuff (honey, spices, etc.), and farm fresh vegetables grown on island when seasonable. It's great, but we've never bought any vegetables as we'd have to carry them all day. Pick up some freshly made pasta, baked goods, honey or eggs while sipping an iced tea or coffee. Pick out a unique gift from the selection of handmade jewelry, textiles, pottery, stationary, and more. All vendors are required to be Nantucket residents, and all goods sold must be grown or produced on the island. There's often live music, a kids' activity table, and tables set aside for non-profit organizations. It's a lively and fun atmosphere, much like a street festival, and people are relaxed and friendly. Parking can be tough in this downtown location, so I recommend bringing your bike or hopping the shuttle bus.
