And maybe blew around a leaf or two. In the end I fired them because I was on a once a month plan and they on their own started sneaking in two a month and direct billing my cc. Took me a couple months to realize what they were doing. If they were good it would have been ok. But they never lived up to any expectation. All I wanted was them to trim 20 or so bushes once a month. In the end that was just too difficult of a problem. I don't recommend these guys. There are too many other choices. Good luck!

Recently I got tired of mowing my lawn with my battery-operated ('green') lawn mower. In fact, if…read moreyou looked at the quality of my own work from March 20th (when I began mowing), to the last time I mowed, it was clear that my main priority was to get it done as fast as possible. In March, I meticulously weed-whacked around all the shrubs, the fence, and every other possible obstruction. I even edged along the driveway, etc. etc. Since then I have been cutting-out (no pun intended -- haha) more and more just to be done with it as soon as possible It was at that point that I decided to get a few quotes from some local companies, and Memphis Lawn Care was one of them. Les Norris got back to me expediently and professionally. Additionally, he also quickly responded to additional questions I had about the quote. Because of how quickly and professionally he handled my communication with him, I chose Memphis Lawn Care over four other bids. Within three days, he had already made time in his schedule to mow, trim, edge, blow, and bag my lawn. I left for work on Tuesday, and came back on Wednesday morning to a beautifully manicured lawn. I am entirely satisfied with the service I have received thus far, and look forward to having Memphis Lawn Care as my go-to landscaper for the duration of my residence in the Memphis area. I will update this review in the future if anything changes; but for now, I am entirely satisfied with my decision to save myself 3-4 hours of work, over a two-day period of time, every week.

I called to have my irrigation turned on and an annual back-flow test. When I called to book the…read moreappointment I was quoted $165.00 for a turn on a back-flow test. The day of the appointment, the irrigation technician showed up, and turned on our water. He went through zone one and within 3 to 5 minutes told me the valve was stuck open and needed to be replaced. There was no diagnosis and no other zones were tested. When he arrived back at my door within minutes he just stated the office would be in touch. I pointed to where my valves were located, shocked that he wouldn't try to upsell and fix the valve right there. The next day I receive a bill of $288 dollars with an estimate of $440 to replace the valve. Naturally, I was shocked to have received a bill for 0 work being done and an estimate so high for a valve. I called to inquire why it would cost $440 to have this valve "unstuck". I was told that they do not replace solenoids and that the valve is cut out and replaced. The estimate included "locating the valves" which are located in the front yard in a box. After a few back and forth calls with the office, most of my questions regarding the overall service were not answered. I asked if they "fix" this first valve, who's to say the others aren't stuck? I was billed for sprinkler adjustment and repairs, but nothing was done. The tech turned on the water, noticed the valve was stuck opened and then turned off the water. He was in my yard a total of 5 minutes and sat in the truck outside of my house for another 6 minutes. Mid-South irrigation has lost my business. I would not recommend for irrigation work. There is no field manager for the technicians only an office manager who could not answer complex questions regarding the valve in question. I would not recommend and had high hopes for them to service my irrigation. Please do not get stuck paying a huge bill for no work being complete.

I had him put sod down and revamp a flower bed. His wife picked out flowers in my favorite colors so I would have color most of the spring and summer. Now the bed is in the second year. The lawn and the flower bed still look fantastic. It would look even better if I had time to deadhead the knockouts before moving two weeks ago. I am certain the curb appeal they created helped me get two offers within hours of listing the house. So now Daniel is cutting my lawn at the new house, and it is a matter of time before I turn him loose on the beds there.

He fertilizes, puts down pre-emergents, spot sprays for weeds, and uses dormant sprays and insecticides on shrubs. He has tested my soil. I over seed my Bermuda grass with rye in the winter, and he aerates the soil before seeding. In the last few years, he has moved in the direction of organic treatment of lawns and shrubs, which is just what I wanted to do. He is offering an organic service that focuses on enhancing the health and mineral content of the soil in order to produce healthier grass that doesn't permit weeds to thrive. He puts compost tea on the yard and uses organic fertilizers and pesticides. I love experimenting on new ways to improve my yard and reduce maintenance/cost, and he has been a good partner in meeting this goal.

I called Green Grounds, LLC and another company to get estimates for several landscaping projects…read morethat needed to be done in both my front and back yards. Green Grounds was reasonably priced and able to get us on their schedule (pending weather restrictions) within a very suitable period of time. In our backyard, we needed what I would consider significant removal of overgrown ground vegetation, leaves, shrubbery, and fallen twigs and limbs before the basic trimming, weeding, and cutting could be done. We also needed weed stopper fabric and mulch added to several areas (which I would consider a decent size). The Green Grounds crew had to remove a good deal of brick in those places from the previous homeowner creating beds that had overgrown. Green Grounds also planted some things that I had purchased in some of those areas. In addition, they did significant repair to a wood retaining wall for us. In the front, they removed dead shrubs and trimmed others as well as refreshed three flower beds with weed stopper fabric and new mulch. In addition, they prepped the entire yard (including an area that had recently had a tree removed) for new sod and laid it down. There were anywhere from three to nine crew members at our home each time that Green Grounds was here. They were professional at all times. They had to work around the rainy weather, but were here when they said they would be around the weather changes. They worked as quietly as possible and cleaned up after themselves, going as far as to put down extra sod where there was a tire mark left in the back yard. Everything looks incredible. We are very pleased. As you can see from my detailed post, this is evidence that Green Grounds, LLC can do it all! I highly recommend their services. We will be using them to do our yard upkeep from now on!
