Roofing bids were fairly competitive, but the siding and soffit work had a very wide range. Luis's bid was the best value and he came highly recommended by a good friend. We asked for another reference and went to see a house where he had done extensive work. Based on the previous client's recommendation and our comfort with Luis, we decided to go with him for the whole job. They did everything they said they would do plus a number of little extras. They used the best materials, Hardy board, Vulcan Vents, GAF roofing etc. We had solar panels on the roof that needed to come off, have new mounts installed and then go back up; he coordinated everything with them seamlessly. Solar came down Monday and went back up on Thursday. We also had the back wall modified to expand our view and 5 new windows installed for a very competitive price. Everything from the roof to the drywall, window install to the siding and trim was expertly done. There was a little material left over, and he completely rebuilt our water shed the last day to match the house, again at an excellent price. The house went from aging T-111 siding to looking better than new in about 3 1/2 weeks. We unreservedly recommend Luis and his crew.

Luis was very pleasant to work with as well as very efficient and thorough. His estimate was detailed and at a very fair price. While he was on the roof, he also took pictures of a crack in the existing flashing on one of our vent pipes and he also show me a few tiles that were falling out of place. I told him I needed some time to decide about when I'm going to have the roof replaced and instead of just walking off, he offered to come back the next day to fix the crack in the flashing and he even reattached the loose tiles, which he did, at NO CHARGE! That is what can be called "EXCELLENT customer service", right out the door! As soon as we make the decision (which won't be too far out...), I will be hiring JLQ General Build to do the work.

I asked for the quote and said that we would be willing to delay until he was available. He did not reply, and when I followed up a week later, he said that he did not finish preparing the bid as he earlier stated, and would charge me $75/hour if I wanted him to complete the bid. Clearly a dishonest contractor that I would recommend consumers avoid.
