Disrespectful Management /staff, Gender…read moreDiscrimination Poor Customer Service: Manitoba Garage Door Ltd. has visited my premises three times for the same issue: the garage door not opening. The first time, they reprogrammed the system, but the problem returned less than a week later. When I called, I was told the technician had misinformed me about a free follow‑up and that the system wasn't originally installed by them. I was advised to replace the system, which I did. On July 28th, they came again because the new system stopped responding to the devices. The technician said I would be charged because the door was in manual mode. When I called the office for clarification, the operator transferred me to a supervisor who spoke to me in a condescending manner and told me to "shut my mouth" while I was explaining the situation. He ignored my questions and used unrelated examples instead of addressing the issue. This level of service and communication is unprofessional and unacceptable.,

There is no where else I would go. on one occasion I needed repair parts for an opener and Hilda said they didn't carry the model and manufacturer anymore, but she thought they may still have a few items left, and she dug through the old stock, and found what I needed. From the first communication with the office right through installation I found all involved courteous and professional. Scheduled a date and technician arrived right at the beginning of the window of time they gave me. It took a couple of hours and I was pleasantly surprised at the reasonable price charged. Unequivocally recommend this firm.

The serviceman who came to look at the problem opened up the mechanism, walked in and out of the store a couple of times, while on his cell phone with his office and half an hour later I received a call from the office. I was told that the parts would be $300-$400. I told this person(Roland) that my parts were on warrenty. Would I be able to get the part #'s. Oh he didn't know the parts all of a sudden. How did you get the quote then? I now had a service charge of $150-$200 though. After I expressed shock to the high rate of a service call, Roland threatened to take me to court and hung up on me. He called the next day where I agreed to pay a minimum charge $120 for the service call. Thought it would be done there but he continued to try and insult the company who installed it saying that they wereinexperienced, I guess because they have a service call charge of $45!!! Maybe they should be called Illegal Locksmith for their tactics of extorting monies from small business owners. You picked the wrong woman to screw over this time. I had a feeling that the small metal clips weren't worth $400??? That's right, they were $26 a piece for 4 of them which ended up needing to be replaced.

The technician completed the work without first calling to provide a quote or get my authorization, even though I am the property owner and the one responsible for the cost. When I received the invoice, the price was significantly higher than what multiple local Winnipeg garage door companies charge for the same repair. Only after I questioned the invoice did they offer a small discount, but it still remained well above typical market rates. The work itself appears fine, but the lack of transparency, no prior approval, and pricing that felt excessive made this a frustrating experience. I would not use this company again, and I would recommend that other customers insist on a written estimate and approval before any work is done

All Canadian Renovations was the one I went with. they were not the cheapest quote I received, in fact they were the highest of all three - but only by a few dollars. I chose to go with them mostly because of the two owners that showed up for our initial meeting. They were professional, respectful, and put my wife at ease with their humour and witty banter. my wife is a white knuckle renovator and is nervous about everything. After less than five minutes, she was totally at ease. Our kitchen looks fabulous and we spend more time in here than ever and we have even rediscovered our love of cooking! The crew that worked on our project (and there were many of them over the job) were professional, polite, and felt like members of the family - we were sad to see them go on the last day! The attention to detail was evident from all crew members. I don't want to single anyone out, because they were all awesome. Way to go All Canadian! highly recommended!!
