In town visiting relatives and we needed a place to stay on the southwest side of town. This hotel fit the bill with good reviews. I was able to book two nights using points. I called the day before our arrival to arrange an early check-in so we could get ready for an event the next afternoon. For once I felt like by Platinum status got me something. The woman who handled by request really made me feel special - she granted my request and also arranged for an upgraded room. When we arrived the next day we were happy to see that we had a very large room - oddly shaped but large. The hotel was relatively quiet despite a large group of teenagers and parents there for some sports event. The place was typical of an older SpringHill Suites but in good shape. The breakfast was the usual which was fine for our needs. I give the front desk service a big thumbs up - I just wish I could remember her name. read more

Gayle, my Son, and I arrived at MSP relatively late and had previously decided to spend the night in the Twin Cities, before heading out the next morning for Estherville Iowa (the town where I grew up). The reason for our trip was to attend a memorial service for my Mom, who passed on 2 years previously. It was only then that her cremated remains had been returned from the University of Iowa Med School (where she had donated her body to science) and were ready for a proper post-COVID celebration of life. Although suburban Minneapolis has become considerably more urbanized over the years, Eden Prairie remains a bit sleepy and someone difficult to find things later in the evening. Google Maps helps, but we still found the correct turn in to this Springhill Suites, by repeated trial and error. Finding a nearby place to eat was also challenging at this hour, as it was apparent that Eden Prairie rolled its sidewalks up early. Marriott's Residence Inn and SpringHill Suites properties both offer a 2 BR Suite options, which comes in handy when Gayle and I would prefer to sleep in a different room than my Son. The room we reserved did that, although the Residence Inn version is considerably roomier. Yet, the room did what we wanted it to provide, including a separate living room that was convenient in the early AM, as other people were sleeping in their bedrooms. TIP - Skip the room coffee in the AM, and take a walk to the breakfast room for better (but still not great) java. That's usually available outside of breakfast hours. The breakfast room itself was nice, with decent food selections for a mid-range Marriott property. We arrived a little on the late side, so there was more room to move around. OBSERVATION - The COVID-era decision to serve "grocery case" breakfast sandwiches is still with us, although the packaged hard-boiled eggs are a nice choice. The bottom line is that we got on the road to Iowa at decent time, had a nice rest in a clean and comfortable room, and enjoyed a little nutrition, at least to St. Peter and its wonderful River Rock coffee shop. read more

I wanted to love this place but unfortunately the management made it very difficult. We paid over $160 a night to have a relaxing trip and on the second evening, the power went out. We were without air conditioning, during a summer storm, no lights, and no way to charge devices. The continental breakfast that was included in our price was not provided. When speaking to management, Mike, stated that he will not provide any reimbursement for the amenities lost. By amenities I mean basic services (lights & air). Mike stated it was an act of god and he has no control over the power I do not appreciate him pushing his religious views on me & my wallet. What Mike does have control over is his customer service and today he fell short. Stay at your own risk, pack a generator to be safe. read more

Great customer service and breakfast. The room was clean. The air conditioning struggled to keep the room cool. The kids enjoyed the pool. The carpets really need to be shampooed, it was pretty disgusting. And be prepared for house keeping to be knocking on your door to see if you are out so they can clean. She explained the management makes her knock on each door every morning. I would hope they have a better system then this for knowing when people check out and which rooms are empty. read more

Cute, cozy, conveniently located and welcoming employees! Of course, they had me as soon as I walked into the lobby and saw the festive holiday decorations. I also had some boxes sent to the hotel and they went out of their way to help me locate them when they were lost by the delivery company. Even though this location is near the freeway, my room was completely quiet. I slept really, really well. The bedding was comfortable and the room had everything I needed. I loved how affordable this hotel was as well. I really felt like they offered a lot of value for the price. read more

Rooms are an odd shape and set up, but it gave you space, microwave, fridge, wet bar... 2 crt TV's wired and wireless internet. FREE! They have coupons to some really good local restaurants, you need to ask for them at the counter. Great location, (close to main roads, freeways and walking distance to Bloomington mall & very good liquor store!) 15 minutes to the Mall Of America and 20 minutes from the airport. I recently stayed here for a work trip and was pleasantly surprised at this hotel. When I first arrived, I was greeted by friendly staff who had me checked-in in less than 2 minutes. My room was on the fourth floor overlooking the freeway (which actually was really nice). My room had a desk and sink area to make coffee, a living room area with a tv, a sleeping area with 2 queen sized beds and another tv, a sink/makeup area, and a bathroom. I'm a neat freak when it comes to inspecting my hotels before I trust staying somewhere and I'm happy to say that Springhill Suites went above and beyond my expectations. They also have a complimentary breakfast downstairs that starts at 6:30am. It was a full spread, which was nice because that meant I didn't need to go searching for a place to eat and less money that had to be spent. They had scrambled eggs, bacon, sausages, a potato and sausage with veggies, english muffins, croissants, muffins, cereals, oatmeal, fresh fruits, etc. They also had a nice drink selection: coffee, milk, water, tea, juices, etc. Lastly, they have a shuttle that you can take to and from the airport, as well as a few places in the area such as the Eden Prairie Shopping Center. read more

Bad breakfast coffee! The hotel is a typical Midwest Springhill, with one exception. The breakfast coffee is terrible. The location is fine, the rooms are what you would expect and the staff is helpful. The rest of the buffet breakfast is OK. If I ever stay in this hotel, I will go out for breakfast coffee. read more

I spend a lot of my life in Marriott properties, and Springhill Suites are usually fine for what they are, that is a mid range chain. This hotel is no different. A friendly staff and clean rooms and common areas make for a positive experience. This one is at 4 stars rather than 5 for a couple things: There is only one elevator, and it is painfully slow. I usually take the stairs, but if you need an elevator, expect to wait. It's loud. Something in the room was making a knocking noise. I think it was the compressor in the fridge. Every so often it sounded like someone knocking on my room door. The thermostat doesn't seem to be connected to anything. It's Minnesota, it gets cold. I got back from dinner, turned the heat up, and nothing happened. I would happily stay here again, but really wish I could crank up the heat! read more

What a disappointment. We have Have stayed here several times over the past few years. It has been a go to. But management has given up. It was beyond filthy. Stayed here for a two day business trip and was very happy with the overall experience. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was also very clean, and the shower had good water pressure. That's pretty impressive for a hotel because sometimes you're can barely get enough water out even for a quick shower. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because it's located right next to the highway, so it's fairly loud. It's nice for convenience to get around the area but if you like a quieter night this may not be for you. If that isn't a deal breaker you should definitely check it out. If I visit the area again I would stay here. The breakfast was good too! And you won't need to pay any extra for it. I can't leave out the cookies in the afternoon either! Smells so good! read more

Absolutely amazing for the price. The room was a lot bigger than expected and there's a really good sushi restaurant across the parking lot.

In our annual trip to Bloomington/Mall of America, we found a lot of the hotels closer to the airport to be either very pricy or sold out. We ventured a little further west and found this place in Eden Prairie, just off I-494. Not only was it easy to find, it has been probably the best hotel we've ever stayed at in our 7 consecutive years of going to Minnesota in October. And we've stayed at Country Inn & Suites, Days Inn, and Candlewood. All that for $86 a night, no special deals or tie-in purchases. Our room was nice, clean and had its own mini-fridge, microwave, and reading area. We had 2 queen beds and an abundant array of pillows and blankets. No problem locating a luggage rack to bring up all our stuff either. The pool was largely unoccupied since it seems the place attracted lots of business travelers, but the pool was well-kept too. This is also the first place we've been to where the breakfast room was crowded with guests. They offered DIY fresh waffles you can make, coffee, juice, bagels, fruit, yogurt, French toast, eggs, sausage, and an assortment of cereals. Most places put out some cut-up danish or donuts and hope you take one. This was a real breakfast. If we go to Minnesota again, this will be our 1st choice next time. read more

I have to agree with the comments of the other 2 Yelp reviews here. The Springhill is all that and very affordable. In addition, there are several very good places to eat within easy walking distance - the Osaka Japanese Steak House across the parking lot, the Redstone Grill and Champs Sports bar about 2 blocks away. Not to mention the local mall (Target Store, movie theater, etc) just a couple of blocks away. Complaint - the air conditioning is noisy, so I often just open windows at night in the summer. Depending on your politics, the laminated "TV Channel Listing" in the room does not include Fox News, which is on channel #18, but you need to find it yourself. I guess Blue State status here has led to some local censorship. read more

Cloudy dirty pool, the hot tubs chlorine was so strong it burned our eyes. The pull out bed had dirty linens on it all balled up. Remote control for the TV was broke, could not control the volume. The room was advertised as having video games in the room but that was not true, and when I asked the staff they had no idea what I was talking about. The hotel looks pretty standard nothing impressive. When we checked in last night I mentioned a free upgrade to a jacuzzi suite and received an eye roll response and no other acknowledgement from the front desk. Not a big deal but I stay a lot at Marriotts and have earned the upgrade status yet have never been upgraded. Got to the room and it was ok. The heat was set to 60 so the room was freezing but after a while got the very old thermostat figured out. The wet bar had not been wiped down from the last guest as their were easily removable coffee rings on it. The outlet on the wall had the screw partly out. Mostly it just seemed like a lack of upkeep. The hot tub was nice but again no overview. It supposed to be adult only from 10 to 11 but there were children in their the whole time. Not a big deal but also wanted to relax in a quiet hot tub. Overall it gets a 3 because I expect more out of Marriott and this hotel feels more like an AmericInn. read more

Ok hotel with more than usual amenities! Quite noisy and allows smoking in the front. The cleaning crew doesn't speak English and breakfast sucks serving rotten food. They also left a plate from breakfast in my room. I'm not sure if I'll stay here again. read more

This hotel was AMAZING for the price. I was able to book a two queen suite for $89 a night, which was easily the quality of some $189 rooms I have stayed in. The staff was friendly, breakfast was great, and the hotel was kept very clean. On top of that, the rooms are laid out with 2 sinks outside the bathroom (big plus for a family). I will definitely be staying here when I'm in the cities again! read more

This has to be one of the best hotels my wife and I have ever experienced! We both travel a lot and we're very satisfied with the hotel. The hotel front desk agent Jackie Spaulding was super nice, informative, professional and beautiful! The area is close to some very nice restaurants, grocery store, and a liquor store. The parking lot is safe, the lobby is very nice and clean. The room was very clean and arranged nicely. The housekeeping staff were also very nice and efficient. The best thing I have to say about this place (outside of Jackie) was the breakfast bar. The food was fantastic, well cooked and very fresh. The area was well kept up and cleaned continually and the attendant was also very pleasant and professional. We will stay here again and I would highly recommend this Hotel! read more

Great hotel that you can find for a great price per night. Its a little out of the city BUT easy to get anywhere withing 30 minutes max and more then likely less. Breakfast is great with sausage patties, eggs, lots of fruit and yogurts, waffles etc etc. Very clean, all rooms with fridge and microwave so if you want to stay in and cook or reheat some things you can. This is an average Springhill, but an affordable option in Eden Prairie. It seems like the rooms are a little run down and the air condition is very loud. The room I had was set up so the wall unit blew directly on you when you were on the bed. With it switching on and off, it woke me up a lot. Breakfast has improved a little in quality from what it used to be and the fitness room is nice. Free Wi-Fi is always a plus, but the connection is a little shaky in the outer rooms. My first stay at a Spring Hill was just outside of STL (Earth City) and it was an awesome hotel. Very new, large rooms (mini-suite) and a pretty cool hotel. Not to mention affordable. When I saw that I had a Spring Hill among my choices in Eden Prairie, I figured it was a no brainer. Well it's a nice enough hotel, friendly staff and walkable to several nice restaurants. I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights earlier this week. I chose this specific hotel because I have stayed there many, many times over the past few years. This time was the last; very disappointed. I had requested an early check in and when I arrived at the hotel I was very brusquely (almost rudely) told that there was no way that I could check in early and that the gentleman who I had previously spoken with was wrong about an early check in. The room was adequate, did not meet my expectations - seems old and in need of an update. They used to provide real coffee mugs and glasses, now it is paper and plastic cups. Breakfast was also disappointing- very run of the mill stuff - a few small muffins, eggs etc.. Check out was also confusing - I left at 4:30 am (went to the front desk to check out and the employee directly turned around and walked away). This hotel has so many special memories for me; I just hope that they can get it back to the way it used to be. read more
