The hotel was filthy and not maintained. They switched me to different rooms which were even worse. When I tried to address the issues with the hotel I was told they don't have managers on the weekend. Then when I finally got a manager after I left they asked why I didn't switch to a 4th room. I have stayed at this same hotel every year practically since it opened, I will not be returning. read more

I'm a Marriott Elite member and stay 40-50 nights a year in Marriotts. This is not good. I've stayed here before and it was good but this time have two beds and they actually have (1987 called and they want their) full size beds. I hang off the end and, when I roll over, hit my wife in the nose. Not only it it small but it is a soft back killer too! In addition, the carpet cove base has pulled away from the wall in one place and the shower curtain rod dips in the middle which makes the shower curtain bunch I'm the middle. This was a last minute booking using our hotel points while on our bike trip. We were dodging bands of heavy rain storms along our route. We had covered 440 miles in the saddle and were ready for a break. This hotel was only another 30 miles away and fit the bill. We got to the hotel, and was warmly greeted by the desk clerk, Jamile (?). He was very nice and friendly, we were quickly checked us in. The hotel looked updated and neat. The room was very comfortable and "appeared" (see below) clean. We chilled with a couple of cocktails and then Yelped a local restaurant for dinner. When we got back to the hotel, it was time to take a much needed shower, before the EPA cited us. Kim hit the shower first before I heard her yell "gross"! There was a used bar of soap, complete with hairs on the soap shelf. Where is the EPA when you need them! We wrapped and picked it up in wad of toilet paper and disposed of it. We hosed down the walls and tub of shower before using. Hence, the two stars, especially since we are now not sure how well anything was really cleaned after the previous guests. If we had found this when we first got there we would have requested a different room. But we had already set up and were really tired from the trip and the huge dinner we just finished. So we bit the bullet and carried on. Being a Sheraton (now Bonvoy) Gold member for many years, we rarely ran into any issues so we were a little surprised. Hopefully this was a cleaning aberration and we were not being being exposed to more hotel cooties than usual. read more

My rating is based on my experiences from other Springhill Suites in other parts of the east coast. I was extremely disappointed. Why? When we arrived on Black Friday at 5ish, there was a couple sitting down with their suitcases and no one at the front desk. As I looked quizzically at them, they said that the lady was getting their room ready. I took a few steps to look down the hall to see two cleaning buggies and rooms being cleaned. By the time it was our turn to be checked in there was a person behind us who waited about 10 minutes. FYI - They Do NOT have a chip reader! The person checking us in was very sweet and nice. Although she did not apologize for the wait or offer any explanation and I didn't say anything. The elevator carpet was really dirty, but, no bad smells. Upstairs on the top / 3rd floor, nice smelling room and neat. Again, the carpet was definitely grimy. As we suspected, we needed more towels and pillows (that's just us), sad to see the sizes and shapes were all different and some were in need of bleach. Since the hotel said they had a hair dryer, we didn't bring one. We asked for one and were given a brand new boxed one to use. :-) We'd also asked for more shampoo and conditioner, alas.... They were just as empty as the ones in the room. Lol. Gave up and bought shampoo and conditioner at the local Walgreens. Breakfast Buffett was everything you'd expect - eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits, waffle maker, cereals, milk, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, bagels, pastries, fruit etc and the woman single-handedly and tirelessly kept everything clean and stocked despite a room full of hungry people. The day front-desk person was also very nice and friendly. I think maybe it's just a matter of lack of funds? I don't know what or why, but, I don't think we'd stay here again. read more

Staying here for 5 weeks while filming a movie in Columbus, and felt compelled to write some nice comments about this really well-run operation. Feels like the building is pretty new, which is a plus, all rooms have a living area with couch and ottoman, mini-fridge and microwave. Very pleasant and quiet environment within walking distance of lots of restaurants and shopping. But what really sets this place apart is the staff. Housekeeping are so friendly and accommodating. I requested a minor fix on there toilet (a little hard to push the handle down), and they had it fixed the next morning. Special shout out to the front desk staff, Ashley, Patricia and Latasha all make you feel really welcome and are very attentive. Thanks for such excellent service! The only thing I would like would be a bar, so we wouldn't have to leave the property for a cocktail. Highly recommended! read more

Let me start by saying that the employees can make or break a company's image. Calvin at SpringHill Suites was absolutely FABULOUS!!! After an unexpectedly prolonged, not great flight, we arrived at SpringHill Suites in Columbus, GA exhausted. Calvin helped make our trip a 1000% better. Calvin made sure that we were in a clean room and resting in no time. At breakfast the next morning Sharon was helpful and friendly. The room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in walking distance to stores and restaurants. I will definitely stay at SpringHill Suites in Columbus, GA again. read more

Good price and honestly looks a lot better than the Hilton Downtown Atlanta. Walking distance to a few restaurants and it was quite (not many guests). Next time I'm in town, this is where I'm staying. They do offer military/government rates. read more

Awesome Location. Surrounded by shops and restaurants. The Residence Inn was all sold out for the days we were in Columbus/Ft. Benning for a graduation so the operator suggested Sprinhill Suites. Skeptical we decided to go ahead and book some rooms using our Marriott points. The service was great. Watch out for the tempting bouquet of chupa chups lollipops at reception. The rooms were big and very clean and had a mini-fridge and a microwave. The wifi and breakfast were free. The pool was so warm that I could just walk in. Loved it! read more

The room was very nice. However, I was given a room that overlooked the green pool. VERY disappointing since the weather was perfect for the pool (85 degrees first day and 88 degrees second day). The TV also had a horrible tiling issue. read more

The suites are tidy, newer, contemporary with a good sized sofa, large tv and a convenient kitchenette with the best coffee! The bed and bedding was so comfortable. Great location. These rooms are tiny! They should not be called a suite at all. They have a split tv to share for this so called living room and bedroom! It's really a normal size room. We have been had once again by hotel.com thinking we were getting a larger room. The check in was quick. The lady at the front desk was new, nice, sweet and was very helpful. Nobody knew the square footage of the room but it's something to add to the website and to your employees brain base. We stayed at this hotel while PCSing to Ft. Benning. The location is extremely convenient to the new shopping area (right across the street from Super Walmart, Sam's Club and down the street from tons of restaurants like TGI Friday's and shops like Bed, Bath, and Beyond.) It is definitely in the better area of Columbus. The hotel is decorated stylishly. The room was attractive but not spacious. If you are PCSing with children, I'd recommend staying somewhere else with more room. Near the end of our stay I finally called the front desk to ask that our room actually be cleaned because the entire time we'd been there the maids had only made the beds and given us new towels, but not actually cleaned (wiped the sink, vacuumed, etc.) And yes, we were tipping the maids daily. The manager ended up calling me and telling me that the maids would clean the room. There is only one washer and dryer for the entire hotel. Since we stayed there for almost two weeks we obviously needed to do laundry, but finally went somewhere else to do it. The washer and dryer was frequently being used by other guests, and I had to ask the front desk to fix the dryer because it wasn't even working (so we ended up having to hang a load of laundry in our our small room.) The internet in our room and in the lobby was pretty slow. There was only one computer and printer (most Hamptons have two computers) in the lobby/breakfast area, so again it was hard to get a turn. Several times I needed to print things out pertaining to our PCS and my work but had to drive all the way to post to do so. There is a hot continental breakfast every morning ranging from bagels and cereal to waffles and normally two other hot items (usually eggs and bacon/sausage.) The staff did not do a good job of refilling the area and keeping it clean. We went to post to work out normally because there was only a small cardio room with no weights at the hotel. As a Marriott Rewards member, I normally try to stay at Marriott's so I can earn points and because they are normally high-quality hotels. However, when I PCS from Ft. Benning, I will find a different hotel to stay at. read more

Let me just start by saying that Jerry at the front desk rules. He was on top of his game, minus business cards, and he was most sincere when it came to hooking us up with a room on baller status. He got me my key and I was off, as Jerry wished me a wonderful weekend. As I ascended the elevator, I couldn't help but notice the elaborate carpet floor and wood panel walls...as well as it's smooth ride. I forgot to mention the lobby is gorgeous. As I entered my room, it's eloquence bewildered me in the best way possible. I enjoy the way the room is laid out, and the television is immaculate and it's location is superb. Overall, my experience with this springhill Marriott has been sensational. And Jerry rules! read more

This hotel is in a really good location. Shopping center with WalMart just across the street and a number of restaurants within walking distance. The rooms are spacious and morning breakfast was unbelievable. But would I recommend this hotel? Not really. Not after the experience we received. A motorcycle club was staying there at the same time my family and I did. The club's behavior was inexcusable and hotel staff did nothing to take care of it. A couples conduct in the lobby should have taken place behind closed doors. Also the club parties until at least 4 a.m. by the pool causing other guests sleep to be interrupted. Calls made to front desk and yet the front desk could not control them and did nothing to change the situation. Complained to corporate office and they said they talked to the team at the hotel but no apology was given from the hotel itself. There are other hotels in the area that would probably be better then SpringHill Suites. If you do stay at SpringHill Suites in Columbus, GA hope you have a better experience than my family and me. Had a reservation last night and the clerk was on the phone with what appeared to be a personal call (laughing and joking, etc.). I gave him a quick "checking in" look/nod and he turns to me and says, pointing to the phone, "talking to a paying customer." I was floored at the lack of professionalism. Once we move past that, I learn the room isn't ready yet - this was at 5:43pm. We head to dinner and return. I will give the clerk this...when we arrived in our room, there was a hand written note of apology of his lack of professionalism along with some snacks and small bottle of wine which was appreciated. This morning as we woke, my husband opened the curtains to see what the weather looked like due to Hurricane Irma only to find a big bowl of cat food. Yes, cat food! There was also a small child's toy at the bottom of the night stand. This clearly told me our room had NOT been cleaned properly. I carried the bowl of cat food down to the clerk for them to see with their own eyes. I was told "we've been busy with this hurricane" to which is not excuse enough for an unclean room. It now makes me question as to whether or not our sheets were laundered. I will never stay at this location again and will be sure to notify friends & family of the same. Housekeeping and overall cleanliness is very poor - very bad for a Marriott property. Furniture in the rooms is dirty. Did not clean my room or change towels for two nights in a row at the end of October even though I reminded them to do so after the first night. RUN!!! The hotel knew about a string of break-ins in the area (2 already at this exact hotel), targeting big trucks and stealing weapons. We came from Florida in a very large truck parked right at the front door and checked in with a military id. They didn't say a word. Our truck of course was broken into, and the police officer said it seemed like the staff was in on it since they weren't telling anyone OR fixing their surveillance cameras. After our experience we very strongly agree. When they found out that our window was smashed and all of our possessions were stolen, one staff member said "that sucks," and that was the extent of their "hospitality." We called multiple times to try and speak with a manager. She called us back SIX MONTHS LATER to say there was nothing she could do and that they didn't think to warn us because it was "only the 3rd break-in that month." I would avoid staying here at all costs. read more

We stayed from Thurs through Monday. It is close to Fort Benning which met our needs. The room was big enough for all of us and the beds and bathroom was relatively clean. However, they do not clean the rooms til afternoon which is when we would be returning and so that was an issue. They knew there were 4 of us but only left two towels even when we asked for more. We chose to not have the room cleaned most of the time. The front desk folks were very friendly and made cookies for visitors which was sweet. Breakfast was convenient with plenty of space. We always stay in Marriott hotels and appreciate them as top of the line. We are coming again in November so I am on the fence about choosing this one or a different location. By the way... outdoor pool and it was freezing. But overall nothing major was a problem. There is a bar area with a little fridge and microwave and coffee maker. I liked the space. read more
