DreamMaker Southern Lakes - Dream Small Kitchen Upgrade

    DreamMaker Southern Lakes

DreamMaker of Southern Lakes is fantastic. A++. We wanted to remodel a bathroom. The entire…read moreprocess was painless. We worked with Mary on our design. Once that was completed and agreed to, we worked with Andrew, the installer. These two are beyond professional. Andrew would show up each day at the agreed upon time. Not early, not late...exactly on time. He was polite and very neat. This was a bathroom on the second floor and there was no mess anywhere. Floors were covered. Carpet was protected. Work proceeded quickly. After the first day, Mary followed up to make sure there were no issues that we were concerned about. She did the follow-up a few more times over our project just to make sure we were happy. When necessary, other DreamMaker employees would help Andrew with the heavier objects. Riley and Jay were very nice, personable and professional. Their plumbing sub was again very good and he did some upgrades to make sure our plumbing was protected from freezing. No extra charge...they just make sure everything is done right. We are so happy with how the process went that we are working with Mary on remodeling our kitchen. The biggest positive with DreamMaker is they do 90+% of the work with their own employees, so we did not have to deal with a bunch of different subs. No tiling sub. No electrical sub. No painting sub. That makes the whole process very easy and smooth! Jack & Gayle G Burlington

I'd resisted replacing it because of the disruption to our lives. Then the refrigerator started failing. A new one wasn't going to fit. So a cabinet had to be removed. That's when we bit the bullet and found a designer, Glen Lusby, through the "Designer-on-Call" at the Design Center at The Merchandise Mart. He and his associate Patrick helped us decide we could update our kitchen by replacing the flooring and countertops and adding a backsplash. Ultimately we also chose a new sink and surrounded our new refrigerator in a bit of cabinetry and repainted the walls and ceiling. Glen helped us wade through the myriad materials, finishes, colors, and suppliers. Then he suggested some general contractors for us to meet. We met with three. The ABL Group wasn't the least expensive, but they made us the most confident they could complete the work as quickly as possible. He and Patrick were involved throughout the planning and construction. The project was completed in three weeks (except for a couple very minor touch-ups) and on budget (except for some add-ons which we approved). God forbid we have to do any further construction, but if we do we'd unhesitatingly call on Glen Lusby to help us with it.

From the…read morevery first conversation, he demonstrated professionalism, deep expertise, and a genuine commitment to bringing our space back to life. Every step of the process was handled with care. He provided clear communication, thoughtful recommendations, and a level of craftsmanship that's increasingly rare. He didn't just "fix" things; he restored them with precision and pride, making the final result even better than the original. The team was punctual, respectful of our home, and incredibly organized. They kept the project on schedule, maintained a clean work environment, and made sure we understood what was happening at each stage. We wouldn't hesitate to hire them again or recommend them to anyone looking for top‑tier restoration work. If you want quality, integrity, and beautiful results, this is the contractor you want.

The top part of the deck, made from teak, is still fine, but all the rails (aside from the main supports) and bottom of the stairs were pine, so many of those parts needed replacement due to wood rot. Additionally, the slats that framed around the porch weren't attached properly, so Marcus took them all off and reattached them correctly and securely. He also removed an electrical outlet that wasn't working and capped off the wiring. The baseboards were also replaced with PVC. It was a full-day project, and these guys worked hard. I can't say enough for their professionalism--from the quality work they did (plus explaining everything to me), and beginning and ending the day with cordial words. Such politeness is not a give in these days. The day began with a friendly greeting and ended in the evening with, "Have a nice night," not to mention polite interactions throughout the day. They also cleaned up perfectly, removing all the old wood. Even though they went beyond what we discussed, and Marcus did the extra work (wooden slats that weren't attached properly and a piece of wood behind the stairs that was replaced with PVC which we hadn't talked about initially) Marcus stuck to his original estimate. ***I would recommend these guys without reservation.*** I will also add that their pricing was very fair with an estimate given ahead of time. It was an stress-free day. Thanks Marcus and Devon.
