I've only been here once, but it was a great experience…read more For booking my appointment, I just went online and picked some dates and times; they called me back and scheduled my first choice. I had to reschedule due to a snowstorm and it wasn't any problem at all. They were ready for me at the time of my appointment, no waiting. The dental hygienist was friendly and very thorough. After my cleaning, Dr. Choi was very prompt to come in to complete the exam. He answered all my questions and it was just as friendly and thorough as the hygienist. I also liked how they were very aware of what my insurance covered and didn't cover and informed me of my coverage before doing any procedure (e.g. bitewing x-rays, panoramic x-rays, fluoride treatment, etc.) I felt like I was in control and they didn't do anything without asking me first. My wife and kids have been going here for longer than I have, and they have had good experiences too. I highly recommend Dr. Choi and Corner Dental Maumee.

So I get there and tell them I have no emergency im just here for a routine cleaning I was told I would need to reschedule they entered it incorrectly. NOT MY FAULT. So i wait some months till I can get back in on their mistake. I have some work done they say the hygienists are with others they put me back in the waiting area where person after person gets up and goes in they finally call me up and ask me if I left and came back. I said no I was in the back having work done on my mouth. The lady at the counter said they never told her I was waiting to be seen again. These people working at Corner Dental Maumee dont apparently know if they are coming or going. Im out thanks for nothing.

Avoid at all costs. You are better off pulling your own teeth with a pair of pliers. The quality of…read moredental work will be roughly the same (unfortunately I am not joking) and you will save yourself some money. Below is my detailed review. I took a lot of time to type it out, hopefully someone will find it helpful when selecting a dentist. I originally went to this guy's practice when my previous dentist in the area (Nancy Hartzell) retired. His Central Ave office was close to where I lived and accepted my insurance, so I said why not? My first visit was for a dental cleaning in May 2021, if not earlier. The dental hygienist (I think her name was Jessica) was actually the best dental hygienist in my 20 years or so of going to the dentist, so coming back for cleanings was a no brainer. Ever since my first visit, this guy (sorry, but after the dental work I received I cannot bear to call him a Doctor - the word bum seems more appropriate, but because I don't like being impolite, I will stick with 'this guy'), told me I had a cavity. I never experienced any pain whatsoever, and after each cleaning I smiled and politely said no. Despite having no pain, and seeing nothing on the X-Rays that he was showing me, each and every visit I was pressured and pressured and pressured. If you like being pressured into dental work, this guy is the perfect dentist for you! Unfortunately in November 2022, I caved. It's just a cavity (a routine dental procedure to the best of my knowledge) and I have insurance that will cover it, how bad can it be? Well, it turns out quite bad. After the numbness wore off towards the evening, I realized I couldn't chew. Couldn't chew at all! The pain when I would clamp down on any piece of food using the tooth with the filling was excruciating (I am a guy who's had shoulder dislocation, ACL/meniscus tears, surgeries to repair all that stuff - without pain killers I may add - so I am not that pain sensitive). If being in that much pain appeals to you, by all means, this is the dentist for you! I believe I called the office the following morning. They had me come back in to take an X-Ray and check the seal (I am not a dentist and I am going off memory, so forgive me if a seal is not the correct dental term - but they checked something with the X-Ray). He said the seal was fine, so I was instructed to not chew on that side. Well to be really specific, I was actually told that teeth are like sprained ankles and needed complete rest in order to heal. I had no idea that the anatomy of teeth and ankles were so similar, but I took this guy at his word. I left the office and did as this guy said. No chewing at all on the right side. When I tried chewing on that side again about 10 days later, the pain was not any better! I picked up the phone again and called the office. When I came back in, he first put some more resin on the filling. This guy then proceeded to explain to me that the dental work was top quality, and that there was nothing more he could do for me. Actually, the problem was that I had sensitive teeth! Imagine hearing that. It's not his fault, it's mine. My teeth are too sensitive! Needless to say I came home shocked. I had no idea whether to try and find another dentist. Will they just start drilling? It's one thing to repair something, and it's another to try and fix someone's botched repair. There was nobody I could trust. I ended up just going to my PCP and we decided to just let it sit. In late March/early April (3 months later!!!) I started to be able to chew some soft foods again. However, now I have problems with my jaw. I am not 100% positive, but I think it's related to only being able to chew on one side for that long. Go figure ... But wait, there is more! Here is the kicker. This office went out of network with my insurance less than a month before the procedure was performed. Not only did they not tell me, I explicitly asked the office staff if the procedure would be covered by my insurance at the time of scheduling. Can you guess what they said? Now, they are trying to bill me full price after I carried insurance for many years and did not use the insurance at all. I am fortunate enough to be at a point in life where from the financial perspective, this bill is not an issue. However, in light of everything that happened, I cannot bring myself to pay it. At some point you have to stand up for yourself, right? Part of that process is taking my little free time to write this review. If you've made it this far, thanks for reading. Good luck finding a dentist, and if you find a good one, be sure to let me know!
