You know you're getting old when you still refer to places as they were several years ago…read more Formerly referred to as Ocotillo Golf Course, Rockwind Community Links located at the north end of Hobbs, New Mexico. Other than an issue I had with some chick in the Pro Shop who was totally clueless and later hung up on me, I have never had any problems with any of the staff here. When I was a kid, I loved taking golf lessons out here. It's always been a nice course. Now that I'm a parent of upper elementary grade students, I've had the pleasure of being around the staff and coaches who facilitate the "First Tee" kid's program. Not only do they stress the importance of fun and fundamentals, but at the end of each session they discuss pillars pertaining to character and sportsmanship like respect and responsibility. My 9-year-old is getting a bit bored with it, but she has learned a lot about this great game. If you're not into golf like many wives seem to be - have a few drinks and apps or a light lunch at the Rockwind Grill. There is indoor and outdoor dining available. Also nearby to keep anti-golfers occupied are the following: + CORE (Center of Recreational Excellence) + Hobbs Veterans Memorial + Lovington Highway Health Walk (concrete walking path parallel to Highway 18) + McAdams Park + New Mexico Junior College + University of the Southwest + Western Heritage Museum and Lea County Cowboy Hall of Fame + Zia Park Casino Hotel & Racetrack This course often allows fundraisers throughout the year - so proud of my community for that.

Epic course. Great service and even faster greens. Book in advance as it can get backed up. I've…read morebeen coming here for years but forgot I can write reviews. Nice pro shop and a great bar with great food. I'll be back when they don't have tournaments throughout half the week.

We have had not so good experiences with calamari..chewy, overcooked. There's was tender and perf. Grouper came with rice, charred tomatoes and a charred corn that was incredibly. Christian who served was impeccable...the chef, Michon..you just have to experience to understand how incredible the food and his attention to detail..so good!

The brisket is perfectly cooked and so tender! It comes w a potato latke which is delicious. The steak was ordered medium and it was fantastic, tender and flavorful. The sides we ordered were the scalloped potatoes and sautéed mushrooms - loved the potatoes but the mushrooms were not my fave. The Thai lettuce wraps were amazing!! Bang-bang shrimp are spicy but so yummy! The desserts are decadent and warm! We had one of each because we like both but did not want them combined. The brownie is a dark chocolate and goes well w the vanilla gelato; the blondie is buttery gooey goodness w cinnamon and also pairs well w the vanilla gelato. Our server tonight was friendly and thoughtful, always filling up our tea and checking on us at the best times. The sunset out the windows was beautiful and the restaurant is lovely inside and out. On May 9th we tried the wagyu short rib and shrimp pasta w pork lettuce wraps and the cobbler for dessert. All I can say is it was all wonderful and I really hope Chef does the beef rib again!!! We had brunch again the first Sunday of May and it was just as good as the last time!!
