3 story bed and breakfast within a short walk to the boardwalk/beach. The rooms all have their own bathrooms and some have couches. The house is cozy, clean and has welcoming staff. Air conditioning is in each room, although not as cool in the hallways. Outside is a nice sized porch with plenty of seating. Breakfast is simple: bread products, fruit, coffee/tea, cereal and yogurt. Some photos are outdated on the breakfast...no full egg, sausage etc is provided (fyi). It is basic and offered in the dining room before 10am. I had no issues with grub hub orders for dinner. Parking is available in their lot, no street parking is permitted overnight. The location is safe and easy to find. The room I stayed in- Moonbeam was on the 3rd floor. It had a mini fridge, dressers, fireplace, tv, couch, large bathroom and comfortable bed. We stayed at the Spring Lake Inn for two nights. While the location is in a prime spot with easy access to the beach as well as the third street shopping and dining area. We found the accommodations did not meet the high price point. We stayed in the sunrise room. The rooms do not receive housekeeping unless requested prior to 11 AM. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and the water temperature in the shower would fluctuate greatly from cold to hot and back without warning. The breakfast spread is modest but gets the job done. They have fruit, cereal, pastries, yogurt, and oatmeal. They also put out a mid afternoon snack which is nice. The people are friendly but overall it could use an update. read more

We chose the Spring Lake Inn as a place to enjoy a week of vacation and celebrate our 30th Anniversary. We were extremely happy with our choice. We found it to be very quiet and secluded since it's a block away from the beachfront. Our stay began with the owner calling before our arrival to inform us of our complimentary upgrade to the 'Turret' room which was great with views of the beach. Breakfast each morning was great with fresh fruits, yogurt, breads, cereal and coffee/juice. We loved sitting on the porch for breakfast and each evening with a coffee. A guaranteed parking spot and beach passes included with the reservation made the visit great! We found no negatives at all with our stay. We'll be back for sure. read more

Me and my husband planned to have a stay at Spring Inn on Friday's night. We checked in around 4pm. The view from our room was amazing, ocean is visible and the sunset view. The lady at the reception is so gentle and polite that we advised us to the places we can visit during out visit. She also offered us the chocolates at the entrance. The room is spacious and very clean. It is very old and everything is made of wood. A queen bed with lots of pillows and a warm comforter. Bathroom was very clean and has all the essentials. The morning as beautiful, we got to have the breakfast served by them. A perfect breakfast with french toast with maple syrup and sausages, scrambled eggs with potatoes, a choice among them. Coffee, cereals, fruits, banana bread, bagels, cream cheese, yogurts and danishes were on the table. I loved the stay and pleasured the hospitality. read more

This. . . . This is heaven. I know it's an odd statement to say heaven when referring to Jersey Shore but I was convinced!! Spring Lake, although located a mere handful of miles away from THE Jersey Shore, is actually heaven. What can I say?! We stayed in the Turret room, second floor, corner room with a queen bed, couch, fireplace and bathroom with jacuzzi tub. The shower was over the tub itself and could've used a touch more of water pressure for my preference, also could've warmed up a little bit faster too but to be fair the house was established since 1888. And because it was established since 1888, I might opt to stay on the third floor in the future. I am a light sleeper and things that go creak in the mornings wake me up. The inn is located a block away from the beach. There's a boardwalk which was excellent for running. On our run, we saw tons of surfers but it doesn't seem like there are any lifeguards around so swim and surf at your own risk. A couple blocks away is the lake itself, supposedly loaded with trout for the fishing (except during the March-April timeframe). On the other side of the lake is downtown Spring Lake with cute little shops, restaurants and tons of real estate offices. We didn't eat in Spring Lake though, we opted to drive to Ashbury Park, Bradley Beach and even Princeton an hour away for food (reviews to follow). Now let's talk breakfast at the inn. Breakfast is served between 830 and 1000 but coffee, tea and cereal are available for those early risers. Barbara and Andy usually have a fruit and pastry spread by the entrance to the dining room, which is a help yourself kind of set up. After you snack, they will serve the special hot breakfast of the day. First morning it was baked cheese omelet, second morning it was citrus infused french toast and sausages - both very delicious. And the last best part?? Jersey tomatoes!!! I never knew that such a tomato variety existed but they taste exactly like good ol' Campbell's tomato soup - sweet and yet tangy. This is what I imagine what tomatoes are suppose to taste like, like if my grandfather grew up in America he would have these planted in his backyard. I would take these tomatoes over heirloom tomatoes anytime!! read more

Absolutely beautiful! Me and my wife spent one night here for my wife's birthday and we truly wish it was more. Such a peaceful and relaxing place to stay. Our room (The Seraphim) was stunning, I had never been to a bed and breakfast before and this was a great first experience. After our night out we came back to the inn to get some rest and In the morning we enjoyed a nice spread for breakfast including bagels, English muffins, different breads, fruits , coffee, juices and even more! I planned a girls getaway with my 19 year old daughter and my sister at Spring Lake and we stayed at Spring Lake Inn. Spring Lake was beautiful and the Inn was wonderful. I can't say enough about Spring Lake Inn. We arrived early, to get some beach time in. We were not expecting our room to be ready at 11:00, but it was and we were able to check in. Our room was adorable and perfect for the 3 of us. It was bright and clean. The continental breakfast that was provided was amazing. Breads, croissants, hard boiled eggs, fruit, and mini quiches just to name a few of the choices. We enjoyed our stay so much that we added an extra day. The front porch was the perfect place to sit with a morning coffee or an afternoon cocktail and snacks. Our most favorite part was how quiet it was and that the beautiful Spring Lake Beach was only a block and a half away. We are hoping to make this a yearly tradition. Saw the reviews on Yelp and was super excited about a last minute get away to the shore yesterday. This was our first trip to Spring Lake. Booked through Travel Advisor and Expedia where I was only offered a 'standard room' which ended up being 36 or 38 steps to third floor to a very small room called the sunrise room. The bed was comfortable and the room had a window air conditioner and ceiling fan. A little triangle window opened so we could hear the ocean but since there were no other windows we couldn't see it. The Inn and our room were immaculate so five stars to housekeeping staff. The location was superb for our needs... a short walk to the beach and lake. We drove to the shopping. Our breakfast this morning was nothing like shown in the other guests' photos:( We were pleasantly greeted by a woman, (so they knew we were there) and we helped ourselves to what was on the table. Yogurt, granola, bananas, cereal, small little cold banana bread pieces, coffee and tea. We sat down expecting something else to follow (after our expectations being set by other reviews) but 30 minutes later nothing. Maybe it's because we got a mid-week deal on Expedia?? I don't know but we left feeling disappointed and kind of like an inconvenience. We are hooked on Spring Lake so will definitely be back but will try out one of the other inns next time. We booked last minute so would they have filled that room? We were told how much the room normally brought and so of course they couldn't offer a tag. Our family stayed at Spring Lake Inn for 4 days. Absolutely a wonderful place. You can see history throughout the inn. The breakfasts were great - saved us a lot of money and got us going. It's very close to the beach, great restaurants and biking in that area is great. The place is very old, grounds are not kept up, don't expect breakfast, pastry is out of the box, cereal is old. We were there for 3 days, our room was never cleaned. If you are unable to carry all your luggage to the second floor room, nobody is there to do it for you. Our room at the end of the day stinks like a toilet, this smell that permeates the entire bedroom. The owner said nobody complain about that before. Never again, I must say the young people there worked very hard and were very courteous, just the people running the place need a wake up call. read more

I arrived at Spring Lake Inn Wednesday for a one night stay with my 6 year old granddaughter, who I brought along with me since my husband was home sick and I knew Andy would not refund my deposit. Spring lake Inn Owner/Manager Andy gave me a beach pass and swiftly and gruffly told me "it'll cost ya $110 if ya lose it!" Off to a bad start. Nobody there smiles or is thankful for a guest's business. Went to my room: lumpy bed, spiderman sheets for a little boy bed! Even my 6 year old grandchild said "this place looks tired." $359 for a dingy dark room at Spring Lake Inn. I find out later that The Ocean House, Chateau, Hewett Wellington all in Spring Lake cost less. I regret not finding those places first. Also, the other Inns are much prettier, and more well kept, and the hosts are way more gracious. Spring Lake Inn version of happy hour: a few restaurant supply grade cloudy stem glasses on a small table with a corkscrew and 3 or 4 brownies and sickeningly sweet powdered instant iced tea. B&Bs are known for their scrumptious breakfasts as part of the charm. Nothing at Spring Lake Inn is home baked. Thawed out tasteless banana bread, rubbery croissants out of a wrapper, and the whole jars of peanut butter, jellies sitting unappetizingly on a table. They couldn't even put out a nice dish like every other B&B does. Coffee was so weak as if they were skimping on coffee beans to save pennies. Hmmm. Miserly. A few hours after I left Spring Lake Inn, I get a call from a boy who works at the Inn saying to me,"you didn't give us back your room key." I replied, " I most certainly did, I gave it back to a young lady saying," this is the key for room 12, we are now leaving." Nobody called me back to apologize or confirm they had the key, because later on I called back and asked a women "did they find they key I returned from room 12?" And she replied, "all is fine, we have all 3 sets of keys." Poorly run place. Any good reviews of Spring Lake Inn seem to have been inserted by owners and their family members, because they do not represent the real experience there. read more

My wife and I got married in October and I wanted to find a great place for us to stay for the night of our wedding. The Spring Lake Inn did not disappoint! The place is a beautiful old house that's been renovated. You can tell that the owners are proud of the place as they take impeccable care of it. The breakfast was tasty and the owner who was serving us was extremely welcoming and gifted a couple of beautiful mugs when he found out we had just gotten married. We stayed in the Moonbeam room which was perfect for us and my wife loved the guest book that they had in the room showing past visitors comments about their experience. She added one of our own as well and we can't wait to go back for our anniversary! read more

The Spring Lake Inn is lovely. It is clean, friendly and close to the ocean. There is a beautiful front porch for relaxing and sipping a glass of wine. My friend and I were there the week Hurricane Ida hit New York and New Jersey and train service back to the city was suspended. We had an amazing time a few weeks ago and would recommend it for a weekend getaway. The manager was incredible, friendly and made the experience even better. We unknowingly left an item in the room and he called the next day to let us know. We spent an amazing Labor Day Weekend and can't say enough about this amazing gem! After 6 months of not being able to feel comfortable traveling due to COVID we had NO concerns once we arrived. Everything was incredibly clean and organized and our rooms were beautifully appointed and spacious. Breakfast was perfect and the coffee delicious! I have stayed three times at the Spring Lake Inn and love it. The place is immaculately clean and all the rooms are unique and comfortable. So far I have stayed in The Canopy Room and The Turret. It's completely cozy and relaxing. The walk to the beach is short. Get up early before the heat and other guests and sit on the porch with coffee. There are plenty of continental selections for breakfast and I believe every day they also have two hot choices. Very tasty and all fits in with the chill feel at the Spring Lake Inn. I have never had any problems with other guests being rude or noisy. I highly recommend for people who love charm mixed with peace and quiet. read more

I was visiting from California and had heard about this place from a friend. I stayed there with my partner for several nights and thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The Inn itself is beautiful with each room having its own theme (one of the owners gave us a quick tour of rooms that weren't occupied). The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with all the usual trimmings of a high end hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful and seemed to go out of their way to make us both very comfortable. A yummy breakfast was included and there always seemed to be snacks in the dining area. The location is stellar, only 1 block from the beach. Plus, there are quite a few great restaurants within walking distance so you don't really need a car once you get there (plenty of off street parking). Overall, a perfect spot for a perfect visit to the Jersey Shore. read more

Unfortunately, the customer service I experienced here negatively impacted my stay in Spring Lake. When I arrived, the woman working the front desk asked me specific questions about the make, model and color of my car. She asked if I had parked in the lot and I told her that there were no spaces left and I was on the street. I specifically asked if that was alright. Woke up to a parking ticket and double checked the street for signs- there were none! No sign at the front desk either (they turn it around during the day to display a sign ab beach badges.)It was My first time to ever visit the town, and I was meeting family who has checked in the day prior. I paid $50 for a rollaway bed (a very uncomfortable one) and stayed one night. There were a lot of young children in the building, and the room was very loud. The parking ticket was more expensive than my whole stay. When I reported the situation to the front desk the next day (hoping they could learn from my experience), I was left with such a terrible taste in my mouth. I was very calm but was interrupted before I got even one sentence out. They offered no solution, no surprise, but I was hoping for an apology. No such luck. We toured the Ocean House and will be staying there from now on. read more

I find it to be very relaxing and comfortable here. I was in the Victoria Rose room-Awesome:)! My room was spacious and equipped with a queen size bed, jacuzzi, fireplace. I stayed here for two nights and did not want to leave. I'm not sure how it is during the peak season but I came during the off season and I'll definately return during the off season. Very peaceful, quiet, no crowds or lack of parking. The breakfast is homemade and delightful! Fresh fruit, pastries, coffee, tea and whatever they decide to whip up in the kitchen. The Spring Lake Inn is an independently-owned oasis just an hour or so from Philadelphia. We were upgraded to the first floor suite (The Innkeeper's Suite) which features a jacuzzi tub, three queen beds in separate areas of the suite, a sitting area with a wall-mounted plasma tv, and a gas fireplace (the room was recently part of a HGTV Design Star episode). You could comfortably sleep a family of four in this room without feeling like you are living on top of one another. The shaded, wrap-around porch of this grand Victorian building is the perfect place to relax with a book or bottle of wine while you watch the world go by. The B&B is a mere block from the non-commercial boardwalk and beach. Breakfast is prepared daily (think creme brulee french toast!) and served in the large dining room with coffee, tea, assorted fruit and breads. Owners, Barbara and Andy have been in the hospitality industry for over a decade and are adept at running a full-time, year-round B&B. Amenities like afternoon tea and cookies and a huge fridge stocked with beverages (payment is on the honor system so leave your dollar in the basket provided) are sure to make guests feel more at home. An innkeeper is on duty at all times and accessible by doorbell at the front desk after 8pm. Was happy to get a one night stay, but that is where the joy ended. The room was not decorated as shown on the website, there were cracks in the wall and an awful paint job. The main lobby still had Christmas decorations up and this was the 4th of July. We stayed in one of their "luxury king suites". It wasn't. Due to Covid they could not serve breakfast (understandable). However the alleged Continental breakfast consisted of bruised bananas, store bought croissants and bagels (store bought as in a package, not from a bakery). Dining was not permitted so most of the guests were taking their coffee and bruised bananas onto the porch. At 9:00 the landscaper torqued up the gas powered hedge trimmer and started trimming the hedges. We were overcome by gas fumes and the sound of the trimmer. I asked the manager if that could possible be delayed until the 4 hours between check out and check in 11-3. His response was, "landscaping happens". For well over $400 a night it was a huge disappointment. Now I know why they accomodated the one night stay request, I am sure they do not get repeat guests. read more

The only plus here is that it's a short walk to the beach and they have beach badges. Otherwise it's completely overpriced for what you get. Rooms are dated, linens and pillows are old. The breakfast was not sumptuous as described on the website. One morning it was actually inedible. Pastries are store bought. No customer service whatsoever. It was only a block from the beach and chairs and towels were provided. In the afternoon there were delicious goodies such a fresh watermelon and brownies. The breakfast was nutritious with lots of fun choices. The coffee hit the spot. The patio was in the shade with pleasant seating. The Spring Lake area is upscale with a pretty park nearby. Horrible customer (dis)service. I had booked a room at the Spring Lake Inn for a weekend getaway with my wife but unfortunately she had a terrible accident a few days before our trip and was hospitalized. It was past the cancellation deadline but I thought I would call the Inn to see if there was anything that could be done given the circumstances, perhaps moving the reservation to another date (especially since it's off-season). Not only was the innkeeper inflexible, but incredibly rude and insulting, suggesting I was lying to get out of paying and even questioning why I was calling him instead of being with my wife in the hospital! (Not that it matters, but I was right next to her bed at the time.) I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Never again. read more

The Spring Lake Inn is a lovely hotel two blocks from the beautiful beaches of Spring Lake. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and you receive beach badges with your stay. There are also beach chairs and beach towels that you can use. The town is about a ten minute walk away which is enjoyable as you walk past the lake and the beautiful houses that make Spring Lake unique. The absolute best part of my stay was the 3pm snack time....chocolate covered pretzels, lemonade, and also some type of peanut butter/chocolate cookie. Divine! Highly recommend the Spring Lake Inn!! We came here for Memorial Day weekend and had a fantastic time. The Spring Lake Inn is beautiful and very well appointed. The front porch is perfect for relaxing. The dining room is cute and offers a breakfast in the morning. There is a wonderful selection of tea, which I enjoyed immensely. There is also a nice selection of fruit, pastries and cereals in the morning. Throughout the afternoon, lemonade, ice tea and a small dessert is offered. The iced tea was phenomenal. There were brownies when we there and they were fudgey and good. We stayed in the Lighthouse Room. It's a King bed room and the bed was very comfortable. It felt like sleeping in a cloud. Behind the Inn, are outdoor showers for washing the sand off after a day at the beach and there are also a selection on beach chairs, so you don't need to bring your own. The Inn is also only two blocks from the beach and they provide you with beach tags for your stay. This place was great and we definitely will be returning. read more

There are so many beautiful places to stay in Spring Lake -- do not waste your time or your money here. They charge Four Seasons prices but the accommodations and the service are anything but. We paid almost $900/night for 2 rooms for 2 adults and 3 kids and found bugs on the pillows when we arrived and the floors were dirty. The breakfasts, while meant to be hot, are usually served cold and overdone. There is never anyone at the front desk to offer assistance and when you ask for someone to help they act like you're bothering them. And they sent us to HORRIBLE restaurants. To add insult to injury, they charged us $60 for a lost room key. Had we known that was a risk up front we never would've let the kids hold one of the keys! read more
