Our room (Wellington) was beautiful, with attention paid to every detail. The lighting includes four wall sconces, a brilliant crystal chandelier, and a beautiful lamp which ties the colors of the room together. The elegant window treatments 'make' the room, and the King bed was super comfortable. Everything here is immaculate, including the welcoming breakfast room. Breakfast was delicious and generous, beautifully presented and impeccably served by Anthony, the simpatico founder and owner. His kind wife Maureen bakes muffins, coffee cakes and cookies from scratch, and they are marvelous. Instead of a huge flat screen tv dominating the room, the tv was just the right size -and included are Netflix and Amazon Prime. We look forward to our next stay at The Tower Cottage.

Everyone was super accommodating. Two blocks from the beach and a parking lot. That in itself is so amazing. No worries about street parking and tickets here. Two badges per room, beach towels and outdoor shower area and hose for feet, chairs etc. The Bentley has been updated recently with paint and more modern bedding. We were super comfortable and the B&B was really quiet. We were in room 12, we had a King and our own bathroom. That was a must for me... Breakfast every day was a huge variety of danish, breads, cheeses and fruit. Legit enough to hold you over until dinner! Stayed here 6 nights and enjoyed every one. The Bentley is a gem for sure. You can choose how you want to stay whether it's a private bath or a shared. Lots of great options!

Air conditioning is in each room, although not as cool in the hallways. Outside is a nice sized porch with plenty of seating. Breakfast is simple: bread products, fruit, coffee/tea, cereal and yogurt. Some photos are outdated on the breakfast...no full egg, sausage etc is provided (fyi). It is basic and offered in the dining room before 10am. I had no issues with grub hub orders for dinner. Parking is available in their lot, no street parking is permitted overnight. The location is safe and easy to find. The room I stayed in- Moonbeam was on the 3rd floor. It had a mini fridge, dressers, fireplace, tv, couch, large bathroom and comfortable bed. The flooring is mostly hardwood so sometimes you may hear some neighbors moving about.

The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and the water temperature in the shower would fluctuate greatly from cold to hot and back without warning. The breakfast spread is modest but gets the job done. They have fruit, cereal, pastries, yogurt, and oatmeal. They also put out a mid afternoon snack which is nice. The people are friendly but overall it could use an update.

The wrap-around porch has plenty of seating and is a lovely setting for breakfast. The dining room is rather charmless but large with plenty of seating. Coffee and iced tea available all day. The only bummer was the umbrella. Pro tip: Do not pay $15 to rent an umbrella for a day. The umbrella was poor quality with plastic ribs that collapsed in the wind. We couldn't use it - had to take it down. But the manager refused a refund. The response was, "It was a windy day." Yes, it was a windy day. There are a lot of windy days at the beach. And on this particular windy day everybody else's umbrellas were standing up just fine. None of them were collapsed to half the size like this one.

I didn't mind but others in my party noticed. The bread plate was nice and warm. The shrimp appetizer was tasty. Our dinners came with mixed reviews. Two of us had the mahi mahi and it was just ok. A bit dry and flavorless. Two had the lamb and enjoyed. And another had the sea bass and enjoyed. There is no dedicated parking for the hotel so allow time to find a space.

It is billed as a B&B, so we sampled the options one of the mornings during our stay. Coffee and water, mandarins, and store bought coffee cakes were out, and the proprietor, who was super kind during the stay, made some scrambled eggs, which were really delicious. He had some bread and cinnamon raisin bread out, too, which we toasted. The room was decently sized and fairly clean, though there were some ants. One oddity is the bathroom situation. Our room had a private bathroom, which was a deal breaker for us. You can request that when you book. Most rooms share bathrooms - there are a few in the halls. The walls are pretty thin, and there was a definite clomper present during our visit, so we heard them a-clompin' from time to time. Overall, though, it didn't detract for us. The third floor has a nice little lounge and TV room if you need to stay indoors awhile, plus there are porches out front and on the second floor. Bonus points because at the entrance they sell "ping pong pals," which are ping pong balls with mini sunglasses. That's the stuff bonus points were made for. Extra bonus points for the single best selling point about this place - the location. They are a five minute walk from Ocean Grove's Main Street with its nice coffeeshops, bakeries, delis, shops, etc; less than five minutes walking gets you to the beach; and about 5-10 minutes across the bridge gets you to Asbury's main dining/night life area. That makes for an incredibly convenient stay. We were satisfied.
