I found myself at Funky Buddha with a beer and their lemongrass pork bahn mi sandwich. And it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. It's simple, flavorful and fresh. The service was so friendly, honest and awesome. I can't wait to enjoy their food again.

The menu! The sliders are not to be missed!

Sorry to begin this review with another business, but my love saga with this truck begins at a brewery. Funky Buddha in Oakland Park (Fort Lauderdale) has food trucks parked out front every night of the week. I have yet to experience a subpar nibble from these nomadic food-bringers, and the fact that they rotate is a stroke of genius. No one that goes to Funky Buddha needing some nosh to go with their brew ever need go hungry (at least after 5pm), the Brewery itself doesn't worry about a kitchen, permits, or shrink and they get to make connections with awesome local businesses. They are legit growing an entire community around their beer, and they're doing it one food truck at a time. Schwing. That being said, Spring in Roll Out is not one to be missed. I don't care what kind of quadruple-sauce fat-ass mayhem is parked next to it. You're already drinking beer. You live in Florida--the land of eternal beach season. Why add insult to thunder-thigh injury? Get something green, fresh, good for you. Order their summer rolls with pork and shrimp and the very. best. peanut sauce I've ever had. Pair it with a light and refreshing Floridian from Funky Buddha and chillax on the patio. Prepare to be refreshed. You will regret absolutely nothing--and probably still be eating a completely acceptable amount of calories, despite your food-bliss. Or do what my husband did. Order the bahn mi sliders, sink into a pool of your own cholesterol and enjoy every minute of it. From my Spouse Tax(tm) morsel, I know I did. Delicious, spicy, and pure Angus. Delightful. Try the tofu noodles--a nearby diner almost had to swat my hand away from his plate. They smelled delectable. Great service too!

By the time I got to food truck, everything was almost sold out ... Needless to say this truck is very popular. The cook was very friendly and helpful and made a summer roll work. He was so nice and food was great, fresh, and heathy. It came with a hot sauce and peanut sauce. Loved both, but better with some heat!

The lemon grass chicken banh mi was my favoriteeeee! So glad I ran into this while on my travels. #foodie #todiefor #traveltoeat

Hands down the best Bahn Mi sandwich in Florida. I stalk these guys on a regular basis. Wherever they are, that's where I am.

They come to our favorite brewery (Funky Buddha) at least once or twice a month and we are THERE without fail.

NEVER AGAIN!!!! This…read moreplace is horrible. I gave it another chance, and somehow this experience was even worse than the last one. Once again, there were no rib tips available, and this time it was only 4:00 PM. That alone was frustrating, but what happened next was completely unacceptable. Today, with some hesitation, I took my uncle to Off the Bone for the first time. He wanted ribs, and he did not realize this place was right down the street from him. I told him I would take him there, but I warned him that this restaurant is very hit-or-miss because they often do not have the food you actually want. Unfortunately, today proved my point. Not only were there still no rib tips, but because of his health, my uncle did not want to travel farther just to find some. So we settled for ribs instead. Trying to stay positive, I ordered 2 rib dinners and 4 slices of cake. I specifically requested sweet barbecue sauce only, because neither my uncle nor I eat mustard. Of course, when the food came out, the ribs had a mix of sweet sauce and mustard sauce on them. I was told it was "some other sauce," but it was absolutely not what I asked for. I immediately asked the young man to take it back because I do not eat mustard and that was not my order. A few minutes later, he brought the food back. In the same container, they had simply poured more red sweet sauce over the food that already had mustard sauce on it. I was shocked. At that point, I immediately asked for my money back. He said, "Give me a minute," walked away, and then came back again, not with a refund, but with the same food in the same container. This time, it looked like they had tried to wipe the sauce off and put new sauce on the same ribs again. Who does that? By then, I told the young man I was getting very upset and that I only wanted my money back. Again, he walked away and came back, but still did not refund me. Instead, he brought out another rib dinner. This time it appeared to be a fresh plate, but with even less meat than before. My uncle looked at me and just shook his head. By then, he had already started eating his ribs with the mustard and sweet sauce mixed together just to keep the peace. Rather than continue arguing in front of him, I accepted the replacement plate and sat down to eat with him. The young man then asked me if I was okay, and I told him plainly: No, I am not okay. I explained to him that I am also a business owner, and this is not how customers should be treated. I also made it clear that I would be posting this review. I paid over $55, and this is how I was handled. To make matters worse, I had forgotten to tip the young man when I first ordered, so afterward I bought 2 bottles of water specifically so I could leave him a $10 tip. Looking back, after the way this situation was handled, keeping that tip felt like an insult. When we walked out, I said, "Never again." My uncle immediately said, "Never again too." Bringing me back the same food three times was completely unacceptable and raised serious concerns about food quality and proper handling. Refusing my refund twice was poor customer service. And after everything that happened, keeping my $10 tip felt like a complete slap in the face. Like I said before: DO NOT GO THERE!!!!

NOTE: They drove down to Miami's 305 Day Party in Hialeah!…read more So here I am at a 305Day party and stumble upon this enticing food truck. I enjoy sampling cuisine that is different than what I normally can get here locally but most importantly they have a Cheese Steak sandwhich! Woahh The folks in the food truck kitchen were friendly and talkative and when I wasked about the two Cheese Steak sandwiches he emphatically suggested the one with everything on it dubbed "Holy Cow Steak". NOTE: what caught my eye was "On Hoagie Roll" and iy better be good when they be advertising that! While waiting he offered me a side of bacon cheese fries on the house (I am guessing someone did not come to pick up their order???) So here I am chomping down on some real good fries with liquid cheese and bacon bits. It had an addictive flavor! I really had to hold back especially when he served me that steak sandwich. Double fisting carbs! The sandwich was shorter than a restaurant typically serves but hey I knpw food trucks always scale back. The flavors. of the meat blended nicely with the green peppers, mushroom, and bacon. Once in awhile you get the provolone chrese flavor but I myself wpuld likeore cheese in steak sandwhiches. The bun was just right, definitely lives up to the expectation! It kept things all together and oh so nicely absorbed the drilping steak juice drippings. Yum Yum fun. I loved it much more than anything that Miami has thrown at me. Ok I am biased because I am Philly cheesteak guy and this hits closer to home than most of what I have had in Miami. ;)
