Basically what we expected for the price but our 2nd day there the air must have goon out while we were out all day. Came back at 11:20 pm and the room was unbearable to stay in after a 85-90 degree day. The owner told me the previous day at check-in the office was open until midnight but it was already closed. I tried to call about 20 times and they would not pick up. The next morning at checkout time the owner was very rude and unapologetic and asked why we didn't ring the doorbell (which we did). She said she had no other rooms anyway to which my response was "fine" we would have asked for a refund for the night and found another place to stay. I them suggested we should be refunded for the bight and she said she couldn't. I said your the owner right, and she replied yes. So I asked why she couldn't refund us and she had no answer. Just very rude and obviously just cared about the one night of payment more than her customer or reputation. Bottom line... Don't stay here. read more

Clean and cheap. All I can expect when getting a hotel at a budget price is that it is clean and with that being said the Spring Hill was clean. The furniture is dated...but again...this place is extremely economical. If you want fancy...pay more. Our room had two beds (pretty hard) and a mini fridge and microwave. No wifi, but my phone single worked fine (t mobile). The towels provided were pretty tiny and scratchy so if your a stickler for plush towels bring your own. The soaps were also ridiculously small so we bought a bar at Walgreens. Overall, clean room, quiet location, great price. Would stay again! read more

We will never forget how awful this experience was, nor how poorly this woman treated us. Upon explaining our concerns with regards to the room, the owner responded with an astonishingly nasty, unprofessional attitude and said things that would drive any business under. To be honest, the room looked like an under-budget horror film dated early 1950's. There was no proper lock on the door. The bed was infested with tiny bugs. Apparently if you have a complaint the owner has no trouble calling you "A LIAR". If we could only check "ZERO" it would be for the rude and very unprofessional response from her. Unacceptable to treat people so poorly that are paying guests. read more

This is a quaint, little family owned motel. There is a main motel with units that have outside entrances, and there are cabins. We stayed in a cabin. The room was cleanish. It's very outdated and there was a questionable substance on the bedspread. The sheets were clean and thankfully we brought our own blankets and pillows. The TV and decor are circa 1985. There was no extra toilet paper which proved to be a huge inconvenience at 2am. The bed was hard but bouncy. There was a refrigerator and microwave and a small deck with a table and chairs. Some of the boards on the deck were questionable. The room was affordable at $87 with taxes and Fees. There is also a small but cute swimming pool. With some updates and extra rolls of TP this place could be a real gem. read more

We had such a great time here! Our family had three of the "cabins" with the porches and it worked out great! Separate but still nearby each other and we were able to cook out and have breakfasts and lunches outside. The cabins themselves were nothing fancy--which was fine by us. They were clean. Other than that the room amenities were a mini fridge, microwave, and tube tv. We weren't there to stay inside anyway. We had read one review of someone saying their AC hadn't been working but all three of ours were fine and sometimes we actually had to turn them up in the middle of the night. The pool area is a little dated, but it was clean. We enjoyed ourselves anyway. We did have to ask for new towels once but it wasn't a big deal, as there was always someone from management walking around the property. My tips would be to bring bug spray (the pretty property has plenty of trees) and your own beach towels for the pool. Floaties too! read more

For those of you wondering how our anniversary trip was, here's what I had to leave on BBB and Hotels . com I called about no hot water and a burst water pipe, management huffed at me with an attitude and said "well, i cant get anyone out, guess ill call my dad". Mold in fridge and on our stand alone unit. I had to wash dishes to use them, yes i know renters are supposed to do so before leaving, but housekeeping is supposed to make sure it was done, also the dishes cabinet was full of cobwebs. When i brought it up to the owner, he said they arent responsible for the dirty dishes or the broken water pipe to our unit, my husband took pictures and so did i. When my husband went and talked to management (owners daughter) she started an argument and had an attitude. He came back, we packed up, i went to hand the key (a day early) in and said calmly that i would be calling BBB and heth dept, she started yelling at me!! Eventually so did the owner and managers 13 yr old daughter, yelling and cussing at me! I couldnt get a word in edgewise. My husband ended up calling the police on them. It is a civil matter, so thats all that matters. You never treat your customer's the way i was treated, as well as others who've stayed there upon reading reviews. I cried the entire 2 hr car ride home! This was a trip to celebrate our ten year wedding anniversary and they completely ruined it! Horrible all the way around! read more

This place is a bargain and has a lot to offer in the way of amenities for the price. We stayed in the mini cabins to the left of the office and it was clean and quiet, with its own little porch area complete with table and chairs for breakfasting. There is a pool onsite, and Cleopatra's Spa available next door. The cabin had a comfortable queen bed, TV, and mini fridge. The bathroom was really clean and surprisingly spacious. Extra points for multiple towel hooks to dry your towels on! Parking was a little tight, so maybe don't bring your Hummer. Best of all, Spring Hill is located in a quiet residential area off the main strip in Wisconsin Dells, just a 5 minute drive away from all the main attractions but completely peaceful and separate from the hustle and bustle of downtown. When we were trying to make a reservation, I decided to call Spring Hill directly and reserve/pay by phone as I know third party sites often charge significant commissions that cut into the profit margin of smaller independent places like Spring Hill. I don't know if the lady at the front was having a bad day or what, but she flat out refused to take a phone reservation, saying she wasn't taking any more reservations on the phone and if we wanted a room we had to drive over to try to get one onsite, and if they still had one at that time we could rent it. We drove over immediately and got the last available one, but while she was checking us in she took an online reservation right in front of us. Next time maybe just direct people calling to your preferred reservation method and don't make them run around? read more

I booked this room thru Expidia I thought I was getting a nice cabin with a king size bed and a jacuzzi Boy was I wrong . We checked in late and the manager was nice enough to wait for us . Very friendly service . When we actually got to our room which was room 9 it stunked to high heaven it smelled like ammonia , dirty socks , and food that was spoiled or something . There's was a plug in that was trying hard to mask the odor which just made it worse . I was dissapointed I didn't get a jacuzzi and that I got stuck in a stinky room if I had money we would've definitely go somewhere else . This place has no ice machine and the woman at the desk had the nerve to say that the state prevented them from getting an ice machine!!! Ok, so why does every other hotel in town have an ice machine? Then the Wi-Fi didn't work as soon as you moved 10 feet away from the office and her explanation of that was "something is wrong." They also have no laundry, the shower doesn't drain correctly, turning on the shower is an exercise because they have the weirdest device for doing it I've ever seen, the under sheet doesn't fit the bed, the air conditioning can't be adjusted - basically, all of the little things upon which modern life depends don't work properly. We rented a cabin for the weekend. Upon entering the smell of the room was extremely musty. After turning the air conditioners on and leaving the room for dinner we came back to find water on the floor. The room was not as advertised on the hotels.com website. The room rate was very overpriced for what we were given. We could not stay in the room and left had an extremely difficult time getting a refund. read more

We were driving on the highway from Florida towards Iowa. We decided to take a peek at Wisconsin. There were a lot of constructions on the freeway and we ended up in this crown jewel, hidden, little paradise called Wisconsin Dells. Believe me, we have traveled a lot during our good years. Presently, we live in the "Sunshine State" and we had lived in California, New York, Chicago and Texas and this piece of undiscovered treasure has more to offer than all of these five states combined. You can stay here for a whole month and still find different activities to do for everyone in the family throughout the day. Besides, the prices are reasonable. To put the icing on the cake, we found this quaint, cozy bed and breakfast-like called Springhill Motel. A family operated business located near the downtown area. The neighborhood was quiet and safe. Everyone was in a friendly mood, including the staff members. The room was newly renovated, big, cleaned, and nicely decorated. The towels, sheets and mattress were new and cleaned. The grounds were very well kept. The whole environment just evokes home and comfort. I'm happy to tell you that I will stay at this place in the future. read more

Stayed here for the second time (dont really remember the first) this past weekend. They do a really good job of keeping up the grounds and exterior. The pool had some broken toys laying around and its not heated. If you can handle the cold, its a decent pool. They quit having bonfires a year ago and never removed the advertisement from their site, so don't be surprised when there isnt one. Besides that the rooms are pretty clean. Needs a little bit more preventative maintenance (dirty a/c filters, dirty bathroom fans but overall a pretty clean place to stay). read more

i normally don't leave reviews but others need warned of this place! We stayed during memorial week...pool was not filled and didn't work! Greeted by a toddler and gma that didn't speak English. Waited for owner was given keys to a one room cottage that we didn't expect. The mosquitoes are so bad in and around the cabin that we had to buy bug spray to spray the outside of the door and inside and on the floors. The lady told us she just cleaned the room but it smelled really musky so we bought room sprays. We were really nervous about the bugs. The mattress sinks in the middle, pillows are ridiculously small! Checked the bed and between the blankets were TWO SPIDERS! There was a tick in the bathroom. The tv is from the 1990s but was surpised to have cable. Overall, we just wanted a place to lay our heads because we were planning to sight see the whole time but we hardly got any spleep because of the bugs. The air was either too cold or too hot and it was a window unit with no knob or vent covers. I do not recommend staying here. We couldn't wait to leave. But you get what you pay for i guess *sigh* read more

This place was a DUMP! First of all the lady I spoke with on the phone was very rude to me. When I arrived to check in her kids were in the very CLUTTERED, hoarded and old out dated room asking me what I needed, not the manager. The blow up pool was full to the top with moldy green water, the kids pool was empty with no water in it. When we got to our room it STUNK like mold and mildew, it had iron marks all over the floor! FILTHY! Spider webs from floor to walls, dirt on walls, one punch hole in the bathroom and one when you walked in. The tv stand was broke, the piece of wood sitting next to it. Then the BUGS! My kids started counting there was so many! We found 10 bugs in 10 minutes, one being in each bed!!! They had pink stains on the pillows and brown and yellow stains on the sheets. The pillows were flat as a pancake and hard, you only each got one. I picked up my suitcase and 2 bugs ran out from then on I kept my bags up. They had an air freshener that was missing the whole air freshener part, we bought candles to light it smelled so bad! Then we were missing 3 blinds, therefore NO privacy, at night anyone could look in. The toilet paper was sand paper must of been 10 for a $1 at the dollar tree. Oh and the towels,well we used our beach towels, they didn't reach around me or my husbands body, not to mention they felt like sand paper and repelled water cause they were also 10 for a $1 at the dollar tree. They gave us to TINY bars of soap that we used in a day. The shampoo was a packet with a nickle size drop, unless your washing your pet cat that's not enough. Speaking of cats we found 6 roaming, one was pregnant, laying under cars. 2 of our towels had black hair wrapped in them, I think they just air dried them from the last person. My family and I were appalled. We came to the dells for a family vacation, and paying $300 I thought it would of been worth $300. This place shouldn't go for more hen $20 a night. We slept without our there blankets and froze in fear of getting bugs. I will NEVER BE BACK. This place should be shut down! If there was a way of giving ZERO stars that's what I would give. read more
