Several food options, little gift shop, and information about the activities going on across the park are available within. Parking is free and close to the inn. Breakfast buffet reminds me of a typical free hotel breakfast, so we thought it was overpriced for what it was... in general, the restaurant staff seems a bit disorganized and unmotivated. Overall a relaxing setting and supposedly is being remodeled in the next year and spruced up! Looking forward to staying here sometime.

I was worried that my elder parents or pet sitters would not be able to get ahold of me. No room phones either. Wifi was also spotty. Wifi didn't work more than it worked in my room. Be prepared for lots of walking. I had an injured person in my party, and she wasn't able to do most things. Also, the room was small! The bathroom door was only two feet wide and the bathroom itself was very narrow. One of the beds was against the wall. Also the restaurant was buffet only. There was no menu ordering. Now that I have complained a lot, heres the nice things. Staff was very nice. Things were very clean. Parking in the garage was easy. Each room had a minisplit heat/ac unit. It worked very well. There is a page in the room binder on how to change the temperature, fan speed, and blowing pattern. The beds were very comfortable and came with six pillows on each bed. There was an in room refrigerator. The Pioneer Village was very nice. It was also very nice that a church service was offered in the Pioneer Village. I greatly enjoyed it, but only happened to find out about it by accident. I didn't visit it, but there was a game room available. I really enjoyed the outdoor patios at the hotel. They are conveniently located and well kept. The view from the patios of the large trees and rolling hills was beautiful.

And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

For a property seeming to target the upper middle market, I think there is a lot of value. They have many free amenities that most no longer do - no resort fee, no parking fee, free shuttle to the sister hotel and downtown. I also feel the pricing at restaurants is somewhat reasonable, particularly at happy hour. Add in amenities closer to a luxury property - evening music, nice indoor pool almost always open, and obviously just being in the unique dome... This is a winner. We found the service to be consistently friendly. We had no issues with getting help for our large amount of stuff at check in or check out. Very nice to our dog and he got a lot of treats for the pet fee. Dining service was on the slower side but seemed to fit the vibe. We stayed in a suite with two queens. It was large. The furniture was on the worn side but well maintained. Nice to see unique furnishings vs generic all white everywhere. Plenty for the kids to do. We enjoyed the newly restored bowling alley and found it nicer than the same priced one at French Lick Hotel. We did like going to French Lick for the shopping and to read about the history. There is a lot about the history everywhere, including the small museum (a large room) in the hotel. We were very happy and would like to return.

Had a ball! Not a lot of people, due to between seasons, but all was as wonderful as the full season - including Christmas. The spa at French Lick is so bright and inviting. My massage from Margo was FANTASTIC - I get them through out the world in our travels and I would put it up with the Greenbriar and Four Seasons. My girlfriend had a stone message that she loved! We also took the West Baden Hotel tour from Barbara. Excellent! It was the third time I took this tour and consistently have enjoyed the nuggets shared each time. Soooo interesting! Highly recommend these hotels - since have stayed at both many times - family and girlfriend outings - French Lick. For couples - West Baden. Though the tram gets you back and forth very quickly and really no wait time - we liked French Lick due easily drink and enjoy the casino to quickly walk back to room. Won $100 net! Visited the newly renovated West Baden Bowling and Billiard spot - so beautifully done to keep the early 1900s vibe. Pizza was excellent! Hope this helps you when deciding if worth your visit - Highly recommend!

There is 1 queen bed, 1 desk, and a small bench at the end of the bed with little extra floor space. The bathroom was absolutely massive with the skin in one room and the shower and toliet in another. My bed didn't have a top sheet. There was a plastic sheet tucjed around the bed. I called down to the front desk to have them deliver me a fitted sheet at 11:30pm. The room also doesn't have curtains. There are blinds with slatts but it lets in so much light. It's a terrible design. There are parts of the hotel and resort that have signs to help you navigate but other areas of the hotel (and the parking/dricing area) have absolutely 0 signs. For the price point, I expected more from this property.

Hotel The Hampton…read moreInn in Jasper has been around for a long time. It is a solid 3-star hotel within the Hilton family of hotels. The folks working here are exceptionally nice and helpful. The hotel overall is somewhat dated and is in need of a facelift. The room was the standard Hampton Inn room: bed / bath, TV and a refrigerator and a desk area to work at, if needed. Room was in good shape. Bed was comfy enough and the heat worked. Hot water took a little bit of time to get going and on the last day, the water suddenly lost pressure and dribbled out of the shower - thankfully I was just finished or I would have not been a happy camper. Bath sink was draining extremely slow so I mentioned it to the front desk and by the time I returned to the room that afternoon the problem was completely solved. Very good response on that. They have a free breakfast bar in the mornings and although it is nothing gourmet, it will get you up and going without adding to the cost of your trip. The front desk also have Grab-n-go breakfast bags in the event you are in a hurry to get to where you are going Overall a solid place to stay if in the area. Plenty of parking available.

Fortunate enough to stay in the small, one-bedroom cottage which was very quaint. Reminded me of a family cabin as it was homey and a very casual setting. Although I didn't use it, there was a kitchen and laundry room which could be helpful for those staying for a few days. The bed was a bit harder than I like and it would be great to offer a hair dryer as they are too bulky for a traveler to pack. Overall, I lovely place to stay.

The house, over Labor Day weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday night), cost us $440 (total) for 5 people. The house has two bedrooms and bathrooms, a nice, fully equipped kitchen and a patio/deck with a gas grill. There is a washer and dryer in the first-floor bathroom. Our third person stayed on the hideaway bed, but we also found a nice twin mattress set upstairs. The house was clean, cozy and really nice! We were within walking distance of everything in town. There was only one potential snag in the whole experience....our GPS's had us all turned around (we were on 5 motorcycles), so we ended up asking some police officers that were parked at the gas station where the house was. We would never have found it, had we not gotten an escort from the nice police officer! He knew the house and said, "Follow me--it's tricky." The street sign had two names on it, with the one we needed to see, all covered up by tree branches. Note to the lovely Vesta: Please warn people of this, because it would be nearly impossible to find in the dark. Be sure to bring TP, paper towels, a sponge and dish soap. We'll stay there again. It was a wonderful house and a great deal!
