I was worried that my elder parents or pet sitters would not be able to get ahold of me. No room phones either. Wifi was also spotty. Wifi didn't work more than it worked in my room. Be prepared for lots of walking. I had an injured person in my party, and she wasn't able to do most things. Also, the room was small! The bathroom door was only two feet wide and the bathroom itself was very narrow. One of the beds was against the wall. Also the restaurant was buffet only. There was no menu ordering. Now that I have complained a lot, heres the nice things. Staff was very nice. Things were very clean. Parking in the garage was easy. Each room had a minisplit heat/ac unit. It worked very well. There is a page in the room binder on how to change the temperature, fan speed, and blowing pattern. The beds were very comfortable and came with six pillows on each bed. There was an in room refrigerator.The Pioneer Village was very nice. It was also very nice that a church service was offered in the Pioneer Village. I greatly enjoyed it, but only happened to find out about it by accident. I didn't visit it, but there was a game room available. I really enjoyed the outdoor patios at the hotel. They are conveniently located and well kept. The view from the patios of the large trees and rolling hills was beautiful.

The construction lasted two years. As you enter the inn, you will discover they have done away with stairs and curbs. When you come inside, you will find a ramp where the front desk used to be. The front desk as well as the shop are connected to the sitting area. The restaurant and lower level are redone. The pool is gone. it will be replaced by a splash pad. They have added walk in showers to a couple of rooms. they plan to add a second elevator on the outside with a glass enclosure. Of the indiana inns, this will be the most handicapped accessible inn in indiana.

And it's safe to say that West Baden is now a family tradition. My parents spent a few days there to celebrate their anniversary, and then the kids all came to stay the last night, during Easter weekend. And we made the most of it. We started with bowling and pizza at the new Ballard's at the Atrium (see my review on that). My older niece then watched all the kids in one of the hotel rooms, while the adults got a drink in the expansive atrium and enjoyed looking up at the picturesque dome ceiling. The next morning, which was Easter, we found a quiet sitting area on our floor to have an Easter egg hunt with all the kids. These are memories we will cherish. We popped over to French Lick for brunch, though the Easter brunch set up in the atrium definitely looked delicious too. The staff is always excellent. We were able to call and get all of our rooms next to each other, which helped. Thanks for another fabulous mini-vacation, West Baden!

More like covered event space. Wedding perfect. Room was clean. Beds are not very comfortable. Killed my back and my husband's. We had a two bedroom suite which was the perfect size for the four of us. It had two balconies overlooking the atrium which I will never, ever book again. Too loud! All night long too loud! Even from the sixth floor, even with earplugs. Only exterior view next time for a stay. I would return next year for all of the holiday events. My kids loved this trip because of all the new experiences they had. Lots of things to do in the area that get you outdoors. Lovely part of Indiana in the Autumn (when we visited).

French Lick Springs Hotel somehow manages to feel both grand and incredibly relaxing. Everywhere you turn there's another detail worth appreciating--from the breathtaking domed atrium and historic architecture to the beautifully maintained grounds that practically beg you to take a leisurely stroll. The wraparound porch quickly became one of our favorite places. We spent a ridiculous amount of time rocking in the chairs, enjoying the gorgeous weather and taking in the peaceful views. It felt like stepping back to a time when people weren't in such a hurry. One thing I didn't expect was how convenient it was to explore the area. The complimentary shuttle was fantastic. We rode over to the casino resort, spent hours walking the grounds and exploring the restaurants, and on the way back the driver even dropped a few guests off at CVS and simply told them to call when they were ready for pickup. It's little touches like that that make you feel genuinely taken care of. Our room service breakfast was another highlight. Everything arrived hot and beautifully presented, from the biscuits and gravy to the fresh fruit oatmeal and perfectly cooked breakfast. Starting the morning with breakfast by the window overlooking those incredible grounds was hard to beat. The hotel itself has so many little spaces to discover. We wandered through the historic bathhouse, found a billiards room tucked away, admired the architecture, and never once felt rushed to get back to our room. Every hallway seemed to tell another piece of the hotel's history. And yes... The robes absolutely deserve their own paragraph. They're still some of the most comfortable hotel robes I've ever worn, and I'm standing by my original statement--you won't want to take them off. Sultans run is one of the coolest courses I've ever seen and everyone at that course was super friendly and made for a great experience. Even when we were running couple minutes behind, the starter gave us great vibes. It's definitely worth the extra 30 minutes to go there rather than Donald Ross. Second, Phil at the links course was outstanding and was someone who wanted to make sure our experience was great. Curious to see what the course will look like once the renovations end. The disappointments start with the lackluster effort. Besides Phil, nobody seemed to want to make our experience stand out. Just the smallest thing would've been appreciated and I even asked if anything extra could do for the bachelor and I was met with nothing. The person who I talked to (will refrain from naming him) did great at helping me plan everything but failed to mention that when you get a group package that it's not really at a discount rate. I'm not kidding you there is literally no discount so it's basically false advertising saying you get a group rate. I was basically being told I needed to do a group package (now I know it was just to make things easier for him and didn't benefit us at all) One late add on even found his room cheaper online than for what we got. If I hadn't done my research, multiple people would have paid double their price because they were unable to play the most expensive course yet would've been charged as if they had played. This brings me to the second part where Pete dye course is very cool but the price you pay plus caddy fee and tip is outrageous. There is no reason anyone should be paying over $500 for a round for that course in middle of nowhere. Instead they are giving u a crappy whiskey and some glasses in a nice box to try and put a bow on being way overpriced. It's a great course but it is ridiculously over priced. Lastly the food within the resort is very ok and also overpriced. If you go across the street you get way better food at the steakhouse and the sports bar and a better environment. Nothing special about the Casino either. It's pretty small and has a small bar too

The lobby and rooms are trendy upscale and immaculate. It was easy to reserve a room using the Hilton app and I was able to check-in and select a room using my phone. I stayed for one night. I was a little annoyed by the high price, but a complementary breakfast was included and I ended up thinking the rate was reasonable. I was surprised by the personal welcome on the TV. The beds are firm with lots of down-like pillows. The carpeting and tiles were new/clean. The tv is easy to use and has a great selection of channels. I appreciated have a fridge in the room. The bathroom was super clean and functional. There was no noise during the night and room temperature was consistent. Complementary coffee that was GOOD was always available in the lobby. The complementary breakfast was better than most hotels. Kudos on the fresh scones - my husband ate three. There is some interesting art featuring local landmarks throughout the hotel. The indoor pool is small, but functional. Clerks were efficient. I'd stay again.

The rooms are the best maintained I've in town across several work trips, the front desk, attendees are polite, helpful, and courteous, and it's located right in the middle of everything. It offers a large waiting pool, hot breakfast, and clean eggs, biscuits, sausage, waffles, and all the rest, and fresh, hot coffee, and cookies at the front are a nice touch. The downsides of noticed are that the sheets and beds, well comfortable pillow tops, seem to likely be synthetic and have me feeling confusingly, sweaty even with the air conditioner turned on, and the fitness room is long overdue for some very basic maintenance: the cable machine only has one side that works because the adjustment is broken on the other, and the weight bench adjustment knob has fallen off, keeping it flat and making a lot of exercise exercises not possible. Nonetheless, the pool is quite nice and large, and two treadmills, and elliptical, and a peloton spin bike are available.

The hotel overall is somewhat dated and is in need of a facelift. The room was the standard Hampton Inn room: bed / bath, TV and a refrigerator and a desk area to work at, if needed. Room was in good shape. Bed was comfy enough and the heat worked. Hot water took a little bit of time to get going and on the last day, the water suddenly lost pressure and dribbled out of the shower - thankfully I was just finished or I would have not been a happy camper. Bath sink was draining extremely slow so I mentioned it to the front desk and by the time I returned to the room that afternoon the problem was completely solved. Very good response on that. They have a free breakfast bar in the mornings and although it is nothing gourmet, it will get you up and going without adding to the cost of your trip. The front desk also have Grab-n-go breakfast bags in the event you are in a hurry to get to where you are going Overall a solid place to stay if in the area. Plenty of parking available.

The house, over Labor Day weekend (Friday, Saturday, Sunday night), cost us $440 (total) for 5 people. The house has two bedrooms and bathrooms, a nice, fully equipped kitchen and a patio/deck with a gas grill. There is a washer and dryer in the first-floor bathroom. Our third person stayed on the hideaway bed, but we also found a nice twin mattress set upstairs. The house was clean, cozy and really nice! We were within walking distance of everything in town. There was only one potential snag in the whole experience....our GPS's had us all turned around (we were on 5 motorcycles), so we ended up asking some police officers that were parked at the gas station where the house was. We would never have found it, had we not gotten an escort from the nice police officer! He knew the house and said, "Follow me--it's tricky." The street sign had two names on it, with the one we needed to see, all covered up by tree branches. Note to the lovely Vesta: Please warn people of this, because it would be nearly impossible to find in the dark. Be sure to bring TP, paper towels, a sponge and dish soap. We'll stay there again. It was a wonderful house and a great deal!

I would have stayed there but at $269 or $419 a night or whatever it was running, hmm, no thanks. So I found Big Locust where the rooms are more a modest $75-95 a night. The $95 a night room, The Locust Room is what we chose. It was so nice because basically we had the whole upstairs to ourselves. It was very private. The hosts were very patient and understanding and easy to work with. I would say this is more of a no frills down to earth place, but very comfortable. French Lick was a bit of a drive, but not bad. Also, downtown Paoli was nice to have nearby. Do be prepared that this is out in the middle of nowhere. Our phones didn't get signal, and there was no WIFI to be had except at the resorts. However, that made more relaxation. Also, there was always the resort nearby for what remnant of a night life French Lick has or a Starbucks or visiting the winery.
