I read the business managers response to my girlfriend Brice's review and no clarification is needed. At checkout her precise verbage was that 20% was expected. We felt very uncomfortable and it was a very rude ending to what started out to be a great experience.

We were greeted with an immediate response of giving us directions as to what to do (take our shoes off at the door). My impression was she may not speak English well. The massages themselves were really good. The add on of the hot stone could have been a little longer, but overall we felt really good after...until...we went to pay. I had been told over the phone the price would be $240 so I brought $260. When I went to pay the lady made me feel horrible and embarrassed when she questioned my tip! She obviously could speak English when she told me 20% was expected! I said that is all I have and if they EXPECT a tip, they should include it in the price. I wish I had just taken the $20 back and told her if that wasn't good enough, I'd take it back! But, I didn't. I personally make $15 an hour, so this was a big spend for me and I was excited to experience it with my boyfriend only to have it ruined by rudeness. So, I don't really know what kind of rating to give. Physically, it was great, but emotionally it was horrible...a middle 3 is fair I think

(So far, same day if not as soon as you can get there. Probably because they aren't too busy.) For me, this is pretty important because I primarily get a massage after I've overdone it physically and am sore or tight (like after a very long drive.) I don't get them for pampering, which can be scheduled well in advance. I also like that you don't have to sign up for a membership. On the negative side (the reason for the loss of a star), communication is often challenging. English is definitely not their first language. So small talk or conversation beyond explaining how long you want, and how firm, and what areas to focus on is unlikely. I suspect if I spoke their language (Mandarin? Cantonese? Vietnamese?) it would be better.
