Even through the summer, until finally I cracked. I went in and began my plea, explaining how I had loved the boots and wondering whether they still had them gathering dust from the previous year. "Leave it with me" she said. I got the call 2 days later to say they'd been tracked down in Melbourne. It was like hearing that Lassie was coming home. I ran to the store and collected my beloved boots for a ransom of more than $500!!!!!!!!! Jeepers. I had to after she went to such great lengths to sell them to me. These people care about the work they do, and I have entrusted them with many a pair of my favourite shoes for re-soling over the years. They do a good job at an average price (I was shocked to find that shoe repairs have tripled in price over the last decade, not just here but everywhere- I shopped around), and they get it done when they say they will.

Their website states that they have too many colours to list! They do a Toe Capped Ballet Flat in two tones. Also, a lace up shoe in suede or patent or plain leather. There are a million decisions to be made in Salvio's each of which will define your very own bespoke shoe. This truly is a store from a bygone era where stuff was made of quality and craftsmanship.

This shop has the dubious honour of being home to two of my top three pairs of the World's Ugliest Shoes, and although they also have some really great shoes here I love checking in to see if they can out-do themselves! Anything I've ever seen here that I would consider buying has been priced to high for production-line shoes, but that hasn't yet stopped me from checking out every corner of the shop every time I pass by, even if just to see if they have managed to break their own record yet.

Office workers will welcome the range of attractive low-heeled shoes, a height for which it can often be difficult to find worthwhile purchases. Stilettos abound as well - the bright blue pumps catch me eye on a recent visit - and customers will probably note the use of real snakeskin across all their creations. While modern designs are for sale, I'd say they are most well known for their adorable vintage look peep toes with high and kitten heels, featuring a knot of fabric wrapped over the front section. In the meantime, I'll keep my fingers crossed for a sale.
