I have bought shoes from this business over the years, but only from their shops. On December…read more11/2014,I ordered a pair of shoes online.I am still waiting. No response to my email on 14/01/2015.I called on 16/01/2015,I was told "Can I call you back?" As the call-back was not forthcoming,I called again. This time the employee said she would have to call Rita at the warehouse and call me back.Call me back she did, telling me that the shoes in question were not in stock, that the boss was back from Italy and that he would refund me the money the next day. That conversation took place on January 16th.Today,02/02/15,I went to the bank to get my charges reversed. This is NOT a professional way to deal with your customers,Ivan! BP

The beautiful shopfront and sheer scale of this sprawling Double Bay store implies $$$, but his…read moreplace is surprisingly wall to wall of great bargains on imported Italian shoes. I've invested in everything from sparkly stilettos to everyday winter boots for not much more than $100, but the red soles on my particular purchases imply a lot more value! Men and women are both well and truly covered, and the walls are lined with a fine selection of leather handbags - one for every shoe. Staff are helpul, patient and accommodating - all the ingredients one needs when in the market for shoes, and clearly the recipe is working because I just spotted another outlet on Balmain's Darling Street. Keep an eye out for massive discounts on designer brands. I once invested in a pair of Roberto Cavalli gold heeled stilettos at a rock bottom price of $300... down from $950. They fitted like Cinderella's slipper. If you couldn't be bothered physically getting to Casanovas, head online and let your fingers to the shopping. The family run business sees the husband and wife owners travel back to Italy 4 times a year in search of the best buys in line with fashion trends. So now everyone can sport European chic without burning a hole in the wallet. Hooray.

Like any seasoned bargain hunter I was drawn inexorably into this shop on my way through Double Bay…read moreby the big 50% off signs plastered all over it. It was big enough not to feel to closeted by enthusiastic shop assistants, though I needn't have worried, the shop assistant wasn't in any mood to be enthusiastic! Instead she peered archly at anyone deigning to shuffle the shoes around as though she'd just come across us rifling through her private shoe collection. But that's just what it seemed to be, there was no cohesion of styles by brand or occasion, more just shelves of mismatched shoes. This may be a slightly unfair observation as it was a sale, but even the pieces that were new in had an all too obvious predilection for diamante and patent leather. A trend which is matched in the handbags and shoes also for sale, never a good plan. There is the odd nice pair of shoes among this horde but you'll have to work hard to find it and I'm not even sure if the shop assistant would be happy you taking them from her if you do!

Affordable shoe store with an array of styles. I wandered in looking for a flat black pump, ballet…read moreslipper or loafer. There was much in stock and plenty on sale. I was disappointed as the bargain I thought I had sourced $30 ballet flat was a cash only purchase. There was a good range of espedrills ready for summer and many types of shoes for the mainstream. Nothing in stock was overtly trendy. I think you find that with most Double Bay stores, it's very classic couture more suited to the established middle aged madam. There were some very comfortable styles heavily reduced from $150 to $75. So that would have been a very good buy if you liked what you saw. The staff was attentive and ready to lend a hand.
