Welp, the joke was on me. The day before my appointment she texted me saying she needed to cancel my appointment because "she had another job." I mean, at least pretend to care about my business! Saying that you need to cancel my appointment because you had a better job come along is just a very poor business model and does not feel good to the paying customer. It was so frustrating and I wanted to leave minutes after getting started. I chose, instead, to avoid hurting her feelings and keep trying to help her grasp what I wanted. None of it worked -- turns out she spoke no English at all and that was not ideal when the "massage" was a total flop. I cut her off early, which required 3 different gestures and attempted communication to help her understand I wanted to leave. On my way out, she typed into her translator service the word "tip" and followed me to the door pushing for one. I would have explained why I didn't leave a tip but she wouldn't have understood.
