VCA was the worst experience I've ever had with a Vet in my life. They tried to convince me that I…read morewas a terrible owner, and I almost believed them, until I started Vet shopping and realized that THEY were the problem. They flagged my reactive dog as a risk and stigmatized him at every visit. They muzzled him with a muzzle that looked like it was built in the ice age and traumatized him forever. They tried to convince me I had to muzzle train him and one visit to another vet I realized, he didn't actually need muzzle training, just Vets that aren't assholes. Dr. Schroeter should not be working with big breeds since she is clearly uncomfortable with them and will pre judge them based on size and demeanor. The techs also seemed to have never worked with a reactive breed in their lives. When he was already terrified 5 of them came in and cornered him, and we had to leave mid appointment because they ganged up on him. You would think a team of vets would know protocol with reactive dogs. When I switched vets they treated my dog with respect and gentleness and did not stigmatize him. He didn't even need a muzzle. VCA tried to gaslight me into having my gentle giant in a muzzle 24/7 so THEY (especially Dr. Schroeter) would feel comfortable. She even inferred in my last appointment there that my boy was a lost cause. Again, one trip to another vet completely toppled what they made me believe about myself. VCA should be ashamed of themselves. If you have a reactive breed DO NOT go here. They traumatized my boy so badly that it took months to reverse. If I could sue, I would. I can't believe they were willing to shame me and my boy for reactivity, when I gave them chance after chance, and thousands of dollars last year. Oh yeah, every other vet in Fredericksburg is much more affordable than this. So, in conclusion, 0 stars. I will do everything I can to make sure dog owners do not subject their babies to what these heartless people did to my baby, charged me thousands of dollars, and shamed me into thinking I was a bad parent. You guys should be ashamed of yourselves. Clearly something has happened with management in the past year that made you guys think you can treat people like this. I will NEVER forget what you did to me. 0 stars. Oh and, "Community Management" response person. Don't even bother trying to respond to my review with some bullshit on par with Karoline Leavitt level gaslighting. Simply don't respond. You're not sorry. We all know that. We know you don't care. You can't silence me, or smooth this over. So don't try.

Other veterinarians in the Fredericksburg area have been seen by me to be crass, nasty, and just overall rude. VCA is the epitome of care, and should be visited by all.

Fantastic consult/examination, with Dr Saron Kensek…read more This is my first visit, to this facility, for a second opinion concerning my little dog. I found the waiting room and examination room clean and all staff welcoming Dr Kensek took time to patiently preform an extensive examination on my dog. She then explained all of the various issues thoroughly. She is still awaiting x-rays and records from my existing vet, which should have been forwarded last week. I was tremendously pleased

I am writing to formally report a deeply upsetting experience I had with an employee named Krista…read moreon May 19, 2026, at approximately 3:20 PM. My family and our pets have been loyal clients of Compassion Veterinary Services since they bought the business from Lee Hill Veterinary. Today, I called the clinic because my cat is ill and was prescribed a special diet by an emergency veterinary hospital. Because Compassion Veterinary Services was closed when the emergency occurred, I had no choice but to seek immediate treatment elsewhere. When I contacted the clinic to ask about purchasing the prescribed cat food, Krista treated me with hostility from the beginning of the conversation. It became clear that she was reacting negatively to my accent and treated me in a dismissive and disrespectful manner. Just because I ask her why they denied me to purchase the food . Telling me and ask me several times if I was their client. During the call, Krista stated, "We don't sell to people coming off the street. We not a store go to Pet smart" This comment was humiliating and inappropriate, especially considering that I am an established client of the practice. In addition, Krista claimed that she was the manager / Supervisor and stated that she had blocked / Flagged my account , If this is true, it is extremely concerning. If it is not true, then misrepresenting her position and threatening to block a standing client is equally unacceptable. Experiencing this kind of treatment during an already stressful pet emergency was deeply upsetting. No client should be subjected to hostility, discrimination, or disrespect because of their accent or background.

Staff up front are RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. Along with Teresa didn't even ask what happened. I will continue to voice my opinion until someone hears me. No can't please everyone but putting a dog in a cage for 1 1/2 hours when we had an appointment and when we ask how much longer they can't tell me mean while they take another dog in and out.

I walked-in without a call nor appointment but was prepared stay the whole day bc I work in the real world and know that there are queues. I was greeted by Stephanie's warm smile, she listened to my whole sob story while she loved on Deebeau (my dog) then Anna came out and she too was impossibly friendly and super accommodating. Sidebar: I know the stigma that comes with powerful breeds and it is so refreshing to be around people who see him for him and not for what he looks like on the outside. Cory then met Deebeau and myself in the waiting area and brought us back to an examination room. He was kind and thorough in his explanation, he kept me in the loop with what to expect. Dr. Brockman was equally as wonderful as the rest of the staff, she was friendly, professional and answered all my stupid questions! The cherry on top was Kelly the office manager who went out of her way to help me and Deebeau! I completely recommend this Banfield to any and everyone! They had me in and out in under 30 minutes #impressive but most of all was how well they treated my baby and me! Thank you Banfield Team in Massaponax - you are truly stellar!!!
